Rae stares lovingly at her journal, as her favorite part of the evening begins. Rae Slid her paw along the grooved, brown cover before tracing the engraving that read "Remember Always". She flipped open the cover with a small smile where she saw the note and read it for the thousandth time.

"Tell me the stories of every day and I will be home before you know it. Love Mom"

The corners of the front cover were more weathered than the back, and his page was yellowed more than the others due to the sheer amount of times Rae has read it. The journal was one of a pair her mother had gifted her before leaving on her trip. They both promised to write about their days so it would be like they were never separated when she returned. Flipping to the middle of the book, Rae began to write her story for her mother. She couldn't wait to see her again.
