What are Katarines?
Katarines are four-eyed feline mammals that can thrive on air, water, and land. They have adapted to the conditions that they live in and most have traits from the environment in which they were born.
Land Katarines have all Katarine features but are not built to endure high altitudes or water.
Air Katarines are built for land and sky but do not do well with water. They are not very good swimmers and cannot last as long as aquatic Katarines.
Aquatic Katarines are best equipped for the cold waters that surround Calamari Island. They are excellent swimmers and have waterproof feathers. They are not very good flyers but can mostly survive on land.
What makes Katarines distinct is that they have halos. Halos are a necessary part in Katarines. Without one, they would simply die. They are born with regular, circular halos when they are kits, and when they find their true passion/prowess for something, their halo manifests into a shape that relates to their talents.
