They seemed to have committed arson at some point... don't know what they did or to what extent the damage was, but they seem to have found a way to purify the smoke... or perhaps it's mist from the dark bramble vineyard they live in, I don't know... I don't know which option would be better since the mist covering their home forest is made of the spirits of forgotten souls.

peoples most precious memories. she will bring them back to you when you most need them. otherwise she keeps them safe with her forever.
These memories are originally mist like orbs that float and linger around the world either to fade away with time or float aimlessly forever... Lost.
When she collects these souls they cling to her creating misty feathers till the time comes for her to return the memory to you when necessary.
Sometimes if you look close enough at her feathers you can see the memory of that feather.
The longer the feather, the longer it's been with her.
