peoples most precious memories. she will bring them back to you when you most need them. otherwise she keeps them safe with her forever.
These memories are originally mist like orbs that float and linger around the world either to fade away with time or float aimlessly forever... Lost.
When she collects these souls they cling to her creating misty feathers till the time comes for her to return the memory to you when necessary.
Sometimes if you look close enough at her feathers you can see the memory of that feather.
The longer the feather, the longer it's been with her.

What are their feathers made out of?: their feathers are made of clouds! they feel as soft and thick as a sheep's wool, but the temperature changes with the weather to keep them comfortable. when it gets hot, their feathers are nice and cool. when it's really cold, their feathers are as warm as a comforting fireplace. the other farm animals love to hang around and stick their noses in her feathers when the weather gets uncomfortable!
