Pokemon being used/link: diz

Prompt: 1. Show me/describe this pokemon doing their favorite move! [312 words]
Code: Select all
Dizzy’s favourite move to use in battle is swift! It’s fast-paced and able to temporarily blind and stun his opponents with the sparkling bright bursts of lights that always seem to hit no matter where he attacks from on the field. He loves using the move because of its flashiness and the fact that it never seems to miss. This is a useful and much-needed ability as his glasses do nothing to assist his sight, instead obscuring his vision. Diz thinks of it as his lucky attack because of the fact that it never seems to miss its mark and will always use it above anything else in his arsenal.

He learned it later on in his journey, wild pokemon can sometimes be fierce and as he ventured more through the region a simple tackle or even growling at the weaker pokemon stopped working as the pokemon he encountered began to get stronger. Diz had never been much of a fighter, usually opting for his smarts rather than relying on strength (or lack thereof) so he began to observe other pokemon who battled during his travels. Unfortunately, observation does not constitute actual experience, and none of the moves he had observed other wild pokemon using seemed to work for himself.

It wasn’t until he joined up with the spaceworld girafarig twins Chester and Cheddar that he learned his lucky move. He had spotted the pair — Chester specifically — using it once during defending them from a particularly unruly wild pokemon and Diz asked about learning it. The girafarig taught it to him so that he’d be able to pull his own weight in battle now. It’s perfect for him really, not reliant on the strength or size of his body, just creating those bright stunning blasts to outsmart his opponents in order for his teammates to get a good hit in.

Prompt: 3. What was your pokemons life like before joining the team? [210 words]
Code: Select all
Diz had always valued his alone time and prided himself on the fact that he was an independent pokemon. He didn’t need to join a team, didn’t need a trainer, and certainly didn’t want to go anywhere near those insane guilds. He loved adventure as much as the next pokemon but even he wasn’t rash enough to go heading off into dark caves and dense forests full of dangerous pokemon hardened by survival of the fittest.

So Diz would wander alone, just him and his books recording the sights he saw and pokemon he met. Writing down the bizarre fusions and non-native pokemon to the region of Fauve. He would wander the region traveling as far as his legs would take him. Carried by pure curiosity and a desire to find out what the strange wormholes were that popped up across his home region. And he was content to stay like that, he’d never really gotten along with other pokemon easily. He was a touch eccentric and that usually scared away most pokemon. Until he stumbled across the spaceworld girafarig twins who were just as odd as him. A pair of conjoined girafarig twins who were confused and overwhelmed and oh so interesting and Diz couldn't resist talking to them.

Image
Prompt: 5. What is your Pokémons personality? [320 words]
Code: Select all
Diz is a curious individual, his desire for knowledge and information leads him all across the region of Fauve, exploring every location he possibly can. Most pokemon are off-put by his eccentric nature and strange behaviours, opting to just ignore or flat out avoid him in fear they’ll become the next victim of his incessant ramblings or never-ending questions. This makes it very difficult for him to make friends, leading to him being a lone explorer. (until he meets Chester & Cheddar of course)

Diz doesn’t mind solitude and more often than not he seeks it out, he isn’t fond of crowds and quiet places allow him to collect his thoughts. His racing mind never seems to take time to allow him to stop and collect himself, so he’s grateful for the moments of quiet where he can do just that. However, even he can get lonely and he finds himself grateful to now be in the company of not one but two pokemon (technically) who are willing to listen to his ramblings. Diz always has something to say and lacks an off switch for his mouth as well as a filter, usually spouting whatever comes to mind without a second thought.

Dizzy’s inquisitive and curious nature sometimes leads to him getting in trouble for sticking his nose where it really doesn’t belong. He struggles to tell when he has overstepped boundaries and can barely navigate social constructs at the best of times, let alone when his one-track mind is hard set on an outcome.

He is passionate and ambitious, pilling himself up with various tasks that he usually always sees out to the end. Sometimes his rash nature can get him into trouble, his impulsiveness taking over the part of his mind that tends to overthink itself silly. His foolhardiness can sometimes land him and his friends into trouble but it’s nothing they can’t get themselves out of. Probably.

Prompt: 6. What is your Pokémon backstory/history? [524 words]
Code: Select all
Diz was born in the Fauve region to parents he was never particularly close with until later on in life. With a distant personality and a large family with five other siblings, Diz slipped under his parent's radar growing up. He was neither the youngest nor the eldest and favored his own company above all else so he didn’t get a whole lot of attention from his family in his early years. Instead keeping to himself and spending most of his time holed up in his shared bedroom.

Time flew by and when the second wave of wormholes first began to pop up around the region Diz decided he wanted to go out and learn more about the strange phenomenon. After setting foot out the door with nothing but barely contained excitement for the journey ahead and his trusty well-loved messenger bag, Diz was finally on his own. Out in the world doing whatever he wanted to do, and immediately he realized that he was NOT prepared to go out on his own.

Diz is a stubborn bastard though and isn't one to go back on his own word, so he pushed onwards and just learned how to live in the wilderness on the go. Gradually learning how to set up camp and defend his campsite from other pokemon who go sticking their noses in his business. Of course, he isn't actually all that intimidating so talking their ears off is usually the easiest way to get them to leave.

He ventured into the wilds of the Fauve region alone for a few months, gathering and recording information about the mysterious wormholes across the region in his notebooks. Along his travels he has made his way to various new towns and cities, seeing sights he couldn't even dream of.

It wasn't until half a year into his journey that he met his first proper friend. Diz had spoken to many of the new pokemon that had made their way through wormholes, but none ever stuck around longer than they had to. Leaving him to carry on his walks or leaving after staying the night at the campsite. But one pokemon actually stuck around, a pair of spaceworld girafarig twins who were conjoined at the waist. They joined him on his adventure and became close friends with Diz.

It wasn’t until he and his siblings were older that he finally got close to his parents. The stress of caring for six children had them constantly busy with something or rather, allowing little to no time for them to hear about his theories or interests. Diz gets along well with his siblings, some more than others of course.

Diz always makes an effort to visit when he has the time and looks forward to introducing his parents to his new friends, friends who he’s sure they think he’s making up. Growing up in a household that was always busy and cramped with eight inhabitants had left Diz yearning for freedom and space of his own. Although sometimes he does miss the cozy feeling of it and greatly looks forwards to the holiday times when his family gathers to celebrate.

6. What is your Pokémon backstory/history? Where did they come from? Did they originally live somewhere else? [721 words]

Shake watched through the open door as the streetlamp outside struggled to light up, right as the sun set over the buildings. It wasn't the only one; hundreds of lights all across the city flickered a few times, and pokemon both out in the streets and inside their homes stopped momentaneously to see whenever or not the lights would be on that night.

Once the flickering stopped and the lights remained on, she heard a few cheers as the most excitable pokemon celebrated the electric types of the city that worked hard to light up the city at night. While she understood the enthusiasm, it was rare that they would fail to illuminate the streets. Not to mention, even if there was power, she wasn't supposed to go outside at night due to her bad eyesight.

Her father, a bit too protective for her liking sometimes, insisted she didn't try to navigate the streets at night, in fear of her getting lost or wandering in somewhere that hadn't been properly charted yet. The city was too big for such a little cat, he would say, that it was a huge maze of concrete, steel and buildings, both abandoned and occupied. And even after decades of pokemon living there, there were still places that no one had claimed yet nor explored yet, as the city had been considered mysterious ruins (and their original builders were either gone or forgotten) before anyone moved in, and Shake wasn't allowed to be anywhere near those places.

After all, the idea was that they lived there, in the Lit City, to be safe. To be away from the darkness of the night in forests, caves and open fields. To have a roof over their heads when it rained and snowed, and to have an easy way to live. There was no need for them to forage or hunt, unsure of what was edible and what wasn't, as they could just buy safe ingredients from other shops in the city, and make their own money with their bakery, living comfortably warm in the winter thanks to the oven.

It definitely was much better than where they lived before, Shake was sure of it, even if she could barely remember it. But she remembered the feeling of being scared, surrounded by huge trees and scary sounds in pitch darkness, constantly tripping over branches and rocks as her tiny kitten legs struggled to follow her dad through the forests they once had lived in.

Her father, Donut, had to remember it much more, but he rarely talked about it. He had taken them to the Lit City for their own good, and he was clearly happy living there.

And Shake understood that she should be happy to be living there too, but she couldn't deny the streak of her that wanted something else. That craved that little bit of danger, that wanted to explore and see what was beyond the grey city, to bare her claws and fangs to the world and show she wasn't scared of anything it could throw at her.

Her father called her name from inside the house, and she finally closed the door before running inside.

"Yeah?" She had to crane her head up to look at him, even if he slithered with his head close to the floor.

"Please try this," He offered her a small piece of pie, balancing it on a plate very precariously with his tail.

How he even managed to bake sometimes, when the only thing he could use as an arm was his tail, was beyond her understanding, but over the years she had figured it had a lot to do with trying over and over.

She took the plate between her teeth before it slipped out of her dad's tail, getting a noseful of cream in the process. But she wasn't fussy about getting dirty, and mumbled thanks to her dad as she scurried off to eat the pie next to the oven. No place in their house was warmer, although her father had told her many times to be careful when she laid next to the oven on her own so she wouldn't get burnt.

Always so worried, but she knew what she was doing, having mastered the art of choosing a safe spot years ago.

3. What was your pokemons life like before joining the team? [229 words]

And most days were just like that one, an extremely safe, boring but comfortable life. Going in and out and around the shop, some days rushing to a shop to gather an ingredient her father needed but forgot, sampling foods and treats, some days even helping her dad bake something or manage the shop.

Although, it was obvious for both of them that her heart wasn't in making baked goods. She could follow simple instructions roughly, or keep an eye out while a dough rose, but cooking wasn't her forte - by a long shot.

Her forte was in fighting, even despite her size.

More than one shoplifter and thief had underestimated their chances, only to be surprised half to death by a small ball of fur all fluffed up barreling towards them with righteous fury, scratching and chasing them for long enough to scare them off trying their luck at her father's bakery ever again.

It was clear as day that her father wasn't a fan of that, as he often said that she should just let things go. He was perfectly content with rolling over and accepting his losses, and it puzzled Shake to no end as to why such a large pokemon would be such a pacifist. But appearances could be deceiving, and she supposed it was just how he was, and how he would always be.

11. Draw/Write about a scene of your choice (cannot be a repeated scene) [1419 out of 500 min words]

Another friday in the Lit City, much like any other before it, she was sitting on the inside of the bakery's display window. Opting to bask in a small sunbeam instead of laying by the oven, fighting off the urge to fall asleep right there, keeping her ears held up high in alert.

It was way too hot at noon for any of that. Her father had even asked her to leave the door wide open, hoping air would blow in to cool down the small shop, as he had the oven working at full capacity non-stop.

He was slithering around constantly, having to keep up with making large batches of berry cookies, the day's speciality. Their cheap price and perfect size for a snack made them much more popular than other daily goods, and they flew off the shelves in dozens as customers walked in and out throughout the day. Whenever or not he had intended to, the front door being wide open allowed the smell of fresh bread and cookies to escape out to the street, attracting even more customers.

Obviously, it was a very busy day, however she wasn't trusted to help. Not because it was dangerous or anything, but because she either took her eyes for too long off the cookies and they burnt, or she snuck a few of them into her mouth, throwing the numbers off. Since her dad really needed to focus to keep up with the demand without running into issues about running out of ingredients, the least she could do (in her eyes) was to stay off his path so he wouldn't trip with her at any point, and to keep her ears alert just in case he did need her to run errands for more ingredients at any point throughout the day.

And it was in part due to her alertness that she noticed a commotion outside, and the shouts of pokemon calling out thief as someone ran full speed down the street.

The fur along her tail stood on end, and she made the split second decision of rushing to her paws, skidding on the wooden floor for a moment before she caught her footing using her claws, running outside in pursuit of the possible thief.

She wouldn't have been surprised if her father had noticed her running out like that, but it wasn't as if she would be in any real trouble with him. He was always too soft with her, even if she pulled a dangerous stunt, so her biggest and only concern was catching up to the thief.

It was close enough that she could see its tail -long and brown -, and the sun shining brightly made it easy for her to make out its pelt colors, but it still had some distance advantage, and between focusing on it to pick out more details or her surroundings as to not crash into anything as she ran, she obviously picked the later.

She could always get a better look at it once she caught it.

Her ears could make out the pitter-patter of its paws, and of her own, but they could make out as well the sound of another set of claws hitting the pavement behind her, and getting closer and closer. Not wanting to waste any second, she didn't even turn back to see who or what was running behind her and the thief, keeping her eyes on the brown tail swishing with every twist around a corner.

Her paws almost slipped under her on a sharp change of directions, but she continued running further, scratching her little claws on the ground to keep her grip going forward.

A larger pokemon jumped over her, its taller legs easily clearing the distance above her head without even touching her, and she finally caught a look at what had been following behind: a lycanroc, also in pursuit of the thief, the unmistakable sound of its claws hitting the street as it ran ahead.

Its longer legs were giving it an advantage when running, and it was succeeding at shortening the distance between it and the thief, whereas Shake had been struggling to just keep up at the same speed, but never one to give up, Shake felt her fur bristle as she pushed her paws to the most she ever had before.

Going into an alley, the lycanroc stopped running, and Shake took the chance to run under it, still chasing, seeing that the thief had also stopped once it had been backed against the end of the alley.

She almost collided with the wall as the thief moved to dodge her tackle, but caught between a skidding angry (albeit small) cat, a wall, and a large snarling dog, it faltered with indecision over what direction to move next.

Whatever the pokemon was, it was brown and white, holding a shiny stone with its large claws, probably what it stole. Shake had never seen anything like it before, but it didn't concern her at all.

With no hesitation on her part, Shake tackled the thief to take the stolen item, taking it by surprise yet getting shoved off with ease in the process. But making out with the rock clasped on her little paws and teeth.

The thief hissed, getting ready to pounce to get it back, but the lycanroc ran into the alley, almost grabbing the thief's tail with its mouth. Unfortunately for the larger pokemon, the thief was shorter than it too, and it fell on its four paws to run under the dog's legs to make its getaway, brown tail swishing behind it as it took a sharp turn out of the alley and out of sight.

Her own tail was swishing behind her, and she almost took off running after the thief again, willing to ignore the slight discomfort on her paws and how she was breathing heavily with exhaustion, but the lycanroc put its paw in front of her before she even could get started.

"You-" The lycanroc said, having to lower her head to look at the cat better. She was well over twice Shake's height, possibly three times as tall, "What are you doing!?"

"I was stopping the thief!" Shake huffed, her claws not retracted yet in case she still had to fight, "I almost got it! I can still catch them."

"You won't catch up to them," The lycanroc sighed.

"Oh, you think I can't!? Just because I'm small!? I can run much faster than you think!"

"No, no," She sounded a bit exasperated, but in an amused way, "Not because of that. They are too hard to catch. Me and my friends have tried many times…Even with flying pokemon on our side, they are too good at scurrying away. Trust me."

Shake looked into the larger pokemon's eyes, hoping to show as much distrust in her expression as possible to see if the dog cracked. But the lycanroc only held her stare impassively.

Eventually, the lycanroc broke the silence.

"Besides," she said while pointing to the shiny rock Shake was still holding onto, "The most important thing of catching a thief is getting the stolen objects back - and you did that. That's more than good enough for now. Thank you."

That finally made Shake stop swishing her tail, and her grip on the stone relaxed for a second, before she went alert again.

"The rock - is it yours?"

"Yes, I was getting it for someone, actually," The lycanroc took a step back, finally raising her head, "One of the recruits wanted to evolve, so I made the trip to the city to see if I could find something."

With some distrust, Shake let go of the water stone and slid it towards the larger pokemon. She nodded and thanked her, making the motion to take it in her jaws - but she stopped.

"You've got some fighting in you," The lycanroc said, "Are you a guard somewhere? Of some shop?"

Still suspicious (as one can never be too trusting), Shake thought carefully before answering:

"...why are you asking."

"Just wondering. We are always looking for new recruits to keep the Wish Tower safe. Please consider it, if you're ever looking for a job," With that said, she took the water stone in her jaws, giving Shake a small nod before walking away.

And Shake huffed, shaking her bristling tail.

What kind of shoddy job advertisement was that!?

…One that stuck on her head apparently.

12. Free For All [1025 words]

Much to her self-disappointment, curiosity got the better of her.

"Dad," She asked one day, walking up to him as he was placing the first baked goods of the day on display, "Do you know what Wish Tower is?"

"...why are you asking, dear."

Shake craned up her head to look at him directly, while he kept arranging the cookies.

"I heard they're job hiring."

Donut looked at her, and blinked a few times, staring at her in silence.

"I'm not a kitten anymore, dad," Her tail swished behind her as she spoke, feeling the urge to explain herself, "And we both know I can't bake. I want to go out and do things."

He sighed and scratched his cheek with his tail, mumbling in a sort of agreement.

"Right- of course," He sounded hesitant, "Right. It's a sanctuary in the forest. Lots of pokemon work there to defend it- it's better protected than anywhere in the city."

"Why?" She asked, her curiosity being caught, but her dad just shrugged.

"No one knows. They've very secretive about it."

"So it's a mystery…" Humming to herself, Shake remembered something about curiosity and cats, but the part of her that was excited about discovering something won over her memory, "Where is it!?"

She saw Donut hesitate again and for a second thought she would have to keep pushing for answers, but he just took a deep breath, with a wistful look on his face.

"Outside the city, in the forest. It's tall, and peeks over the trees by a long shot, it's hard to miss," Donut patted her head with the tip of his tail, "I can show you the way-"

"I can go alone," She said, "If it's hard to miss, it can't be that hard to find it."

As she expected, her father hesitated, glancing around nervously.

"Okay…Let me just-" He slithered off inside with a sigh, shoving bread, cookies and objects he saw fit into a bag before passing it to Shake, "Take this- and be back home before dark, miss! Or I'll go look for you!"

Surprised he wasn't doubting anymore and had just let her go, Shake looked at the bag in her paws and then looked back to her dad. A smile crept onto her face slowly, and she hopped to give him a hug.

"Yeah! I will! Later, dad!" She took the strap of the bag with her mouth, her paws skidding on the wooden floor as she ran out of the bakery.

"Goodness-Stay safe!"

~ ☘ ~

The Wish Tower had somehow ended up being just what she thought, while also being not what she imagined.

It was a tower alright, as tall and wide as some of the bigger buildings in the Lit City, except that it looked much lonelier standing alone over the treetops. But the tower itself wasn't the most impressive part of it.

The shorter structure built around it, a fortress of stone and wood that was hidden under the trees, clearly demarcated as separate from the tower, but also as a part of it. It was a living area, she was told, where travellers could spend time and take shelter if needed, while also serving as an extra layer of protection for the tower.

Because, apparently, the tower was a special place. Blessed many years ago by a wishing star - Jirachi - who told everyone it would remember the tower and come back one day. Or so the tale said.

Shake honestly didn't believe it, even as the lycanroc she had met before (who was named Cocoa), explained everything with excitement and honest belief in her voice. Clearly, pokemon who would give everything to protect the tower believed in the legend. But not all of them did so, she couldn't help but notice a few (mostly recruits who didn't seem to be too happy) who rolled their eyes as Cocoa spoke and showed her around the shorter structure.

Never once she was taken into the actual tower though, as that part was off limits for anyone but recruits and guards. For all effects and purposes, she was just visiting casually. Most pokemon looked at her either in confusion or surprise, as she seemed by far the smallest of everyone in the tower.

That was, until she came face to face with a riolu, who was barely taller than her and almost met her at eye level, but had a few extra centimeters of height due to their ears standing upright, while hers flopped to the sides slightly.

They looked at her, with an unamused look on their eyes, then looked at Cocoa with the exact same expression.

"Who's this."

"Shake," She answered before Cocoa could even open her mouth, "Who are you."

He snorted, shaking his head and shifting his attention to Cocoa.

"Recruit or visitor?"

"Hey! You didn't answer me-"

"Both, maybe," Cocoa gave a smile, "She's the cat that helped me get the water stone back, remember?"

The riolu blinked blankly, "Not at all."

"I told you," Cocoa huffed, "Fry knows too, go ask him."

The riolu shot another look at Shake before walking off without further comment. She made sure to glare at him as her tail swished around.

"Sorry, they're always like that. Don't take it too personally."

Easier said than done, Shake thought to herself trying to not huff at Cocoa's words and the riolu's attitude. She had no idea if he was a recruit or whatever, but if she saw him again, she wasn't sure if she could hold her tongue back.

"He doesn't train recruits so you don't have to deal with him unless you choose to join," Cocoa continued talking, looking at Shake with an encouraging expression, "And get to stay, that is."

Internally, Shake wondered if the Tower was very desperate for new recruits or something, given how the lycanroc seemed very fixated on that aspect of the visit, but she didn't say it out loud so as to not sound rude.

After all, she didn't want to start with the wrong paw when she was indeed considering it

"Right," Shake said, "So, how do I join?"

END

Image

Castor's favorite move to use in battle is charm! Due to not being much of a fighter nor favoring the action of battling others much at all, the psychic purrloin takes advantage of their natural charm to ensure they get the upper hand in any battle. When first confronted with a battle against a stronger pokemon a few years back, they had panicked. With scratch as their only damage-dealing move, they knew they stood no chance against a strong opponent. However, the clever purrloin was able to come up with a solution that caused the enemy to lower their attack, by using their skill with charm as an advantage in battle! From then on, they've always relied on this move.

Pokemon being used/link: Flocon and Joe
Archive: here for Heartcatch
Prompt: Lovebug Prompt :

It all started on a terrible snowy evening at Mount Lanakila on Ula'ula Island. That day, a terrible snowstorm had surprised all the pokemon and trainers in the region, forcing them to confine themselves to the nearest place. So, Flocon was confined to his cave, with his family, and waited for the storm to calm down, because it was too powerful, even for an ice pokemon. During the storm, the wind carried a blue and white scarf to Flocon's lair. Worried about finding this garment without its owner, the Vulpix wanted to look for it, but his parents prevented him from doing so, because it was too dangerous. Still, listening only to his courage, Flocon disobeyed and searched outside, and after much battling the storm, he found a strange, unconscious Pidgey, whose feathers had totally freezed. The poor man must have been surprised by the storm! Without hesitation, Flocon carried him on his back, and brought him home, where his family helped the bird warm up and recover. But still, the bird's feathers remained gray and white, as pale as snow. He never regained his sandy colors, which demoralized the Pidgey upon waking.
"I'm horrible..." he said sadly
"- Not at all!" Said Flocon "You're unique, and it's super cool to be unique! The world would be really boring if we were all the same, don't you think?"
The Pidgey looked at Flocon curiously.
" - Do you... Do you really think so...? " he asked then.
"- Of course yes! By the way, my name is Flocon, and you?"
" - I'm Joe. Nice to meet you "
"- Me too. Come on, it's time to eat. You need it!"
No sooner said than done. Flocon drove Joe to a place where he could eat. When it was over, Flocon noticed that Joe seemed a bit cold, so he put the blue scarf he had found around his neck.
"What is it?" Joe asked.
" - The object that led me to you. It's this scarf that made me want to go out during the storm, and that allowed me to find you. It will keep you warm. "
Joe smiles.
"- Thank you, she's beautiful" he said before whispering in Flocon's ear "Just like you"
Flocon then began to blush. He had known for a very long time that girls didn't interest him, but on the other hand, he had never felt anything special for a boy. Well, except maybe when he was a kid, since we all have a childhood sweetheart, but that doesn't really matter. In any case, facing Joe, Flocon felt different.
" T... Thank you...? " Flocon stammered.
"- He's in love, Flocon is in love!" laughed his sisters, which made the Vulpix blush even more.
"- Oh come on children, leave your brother alone!" said their mum, while she pushed Flocon's sisters a little further, to leave Flocon and Joe alone.

Joe stared at Flocon in confusion.
"Wait, are you gay?" he asked.
Ashamed, Flocon stared elsewhere
" - Yes...? Why is it wrong...?"
Joy smiled softly, and also blushed at this point.
"Not that I know of, since I am too..."
Flocon stared at him in surprise.
" - Really !? "
" - Yes, even if where I come from, I am often told that it's bad..." Joe lowered his head and Flocon smiled.
" - So I imagine that your new feathers and our meeting is doubly a gift. Here you will always be welcome, no matter who you love and maybe... " Flocon kissed Joe, which surprised him, then Flocon looked away blushing "Maybe fate just wanted us to meet..."
Joe smiled back.
" - Probably... My love "
The two blushed and kissed again. Since this mysterious meeting in the heart of the storm, they have never left each other.

Prompt: What is your pokemon’s personality?
How does one define Troy? Well, to be completely honest, he’s a little ditzy, but he means well. Troy is kind and comes on a bit strong at first, but he doesn’t mean any harm. He’s a jock who has a charismatic air about him, and can make friends with even the shyest of people. His special interests are basketball and baseball, but he loves learning new hobbies! He likes singing too, although he’s not very good at it, but he tries his best. What Troy lacks in book smarts, he more than makes up for in empathy and compassion. {Word Count: 100}

Prompt: What is your pokemon’s backstory/history? Where did they come from? Did they originally live somewhere else?
To say Troy grew up with his owner is an understatement. When he was just a lotad, Troy’s original trainer had started a family. So, instead of training him as a battling pokemon, Troy was brought up alongside the man’s son from the time he was born. Because he was considered part of the family, and loved by his owners, he evolved into a lombre. By that time, the baby that had been born had grown, and started school. One day, the little boy brought home a water stone, and unknowingly, tried to hand it to Troy. When he did, the pokemon evolved into the ludicolo he is today! And, as the boy grew older, he took interest in the same things the boy did, which is why Troy loves basketball! Currently, Troy’s boy started his senior year of high school, and the two practice basketball every day! {Word Count: 148}

Prompt: What does your pokemon do? Do they battle with a trainer? Live on their on, etc.?
Troy doesn’t do much during the day. His human, who’s still in school, is gone during the day, so there’s no one to really play with. But that doesn’t put a damper on his attitude or anything! As a matter of fact, for a ludicolo, Troy gets around. The father of his family takes him out to the park sometimes so he can play with other pokemon, and it’s helped Troy make many friends! He goes for about two hours every day before he and the man go back home. When they do, Troy heads to the kitchen to help the mother cook. Troy isn’t very good at cooking, but she lets him stir things and put the seasonings on the food. Then, by the time his human friend comes home, dinner is ready! The boy usually has homework to do, but that’s ok, because Troy is patient. Then, when the boy is done, the two go outside to play basketball! It’s a simple routine, but Troy is used to it, because he loves his human family! {Word Count: 177}

Minerva

Prompt: Has your pokemon ever encountered a legendary? What was it like and how did it impact them?
Minerva will never forget the time she encountered Mew, the tiny pink legendary pokemon. Said to have the DNA of every single pokemon in its body.
Minerva had been cooking up a new potion in her pumpkin cauldron when she thought she heard something outside her den. Curious, she peeked her head out of the opening, but there was nothing there. She narrowed her eyes, but went to turn back to her potions. As she did, she heard the noise again. It was a soft trill, a gentle voice. The sylveon popped her head out again, but there was nothing around the den except plant life, and the occasional bird pokemon overhead. Once more, she went back to her mixing.
The third time she heard the noise, she was annoyed. Huffing, with her ears pinned back to her head, she stepped outside her den completely. There was the sound of giggling, and when she looked up, it was to be face to face with Mew, who was floating upside down above her. Startled, Minerva yelped and backed up, which caused Mew to giggle. The tiny being turned themself upright and trilled at the sylveon. Before Minerva could say anything though, the legendary darted off, probably off to surprise someone else.
Minerva wasn’t sure what to think of the encounter at first, but now, she’s glad she was able to have the experience. It also amused her that someone could actually take her off guard. She wasn’t sure what the Mew had intended by it, but then again, who knew what legendaries were thinking anyway? {Word Count: 264}

Prompt: What’s your pokemon’s backstory/history? Where did they come from? Did they live somewhere else etc.?
Minerva originally belonged to a trainer. She was a gift to the trainer from their parent when she was just an eevee. The two went everywhere together, and fought many battles. However, when Minerva evolved into a sylveon, their trainer was disappointed and upset. They hadn’t wanted her to evolve, but hadn’t given her an everstone to keep her from doing so. Despite trying her hardest to make her trainer happy, and showing she was still the same pokemon they’d grown to love, their trainer was still upset. Eventually, they put her in a box, then ultimately, released her. Minerva didn’t understand what she had done to deserve this, and even tried to find her way back to the trainer’s home, but when she finally found her old home, her trainer had moved regions. Downtrodden, she headed back to Evergrove Forest, and swore off contact with humans. Despite the hardship she went through at first to survive the forest, she made many new friends, and even learned how to create potions to help wild pokemon who had fought with trained pokemon. She’s much happier now, and considers the strife of her earlier days the stepping stones to her own happily ever after. {Word Count:202}

Minerva is a playful little spirit. She likes to pull pranks, and is always teasing others. She’s quite friendly, but she’s always keeping others on their toes. She may leave you alone if you give her a little bit of sweets though, since she loves candy, especially sour candy! Minerva is also a bit witchy, and can be found making potions when she’s not pranking people. What potions is she always making? Ah, well that’s a secret, and a witch never reveals her secrets! But if you ever need one, or just need help in general, you can always count on Minerva to be there. {Word Count: 105}

Prompt: Where does your pokemon live?
In a woodsy area of a place known as the Hollows Region, there’s a small den made out of an old tree stump. The stump itself is nothing remarkable, and is covered in moss and fungi. What’s impressive is the hole inside the stump. There’s a small step down into the hole, leading into a large area that can be considered a one room den. The space is lit dimly by jack-o-lanterns that are set in each corner of the den. In the middle is a cauldron over a small fire, used to make potions. On the right are some holes dug into the dirt, to hold bottles, small boxes and even a few tiny herb plants. Along the same wall is a table made of a large mushroom, with seats made from tied together branches.
Along the other side, in a corner, is a large leaf being used as a hammock. The hammock is attached to the wall, with just enough room to lightly swing oneself to sleep. The rest of the left side of the den is littered with boxes, all filled to the brim with candy. There is also a chest, next to the hammock, filled with costumes and prank toys. In all, the hut gives a cozy feel, albeit maybe a little spooky. But that’s ok, because that’s exactly how Minerva likes it. {Word Count: 227}

Prompt: What does your pokemon do? Do they battle with a trainer? Live on their own, etc.?
Minerva doesn’t exactly have a set schedule. This spooky little sylveon just does whatever she wants, really. She often pulls pranks on her friends, and wanders the forest she calls home, collecting plants for her potions. In all her free time, most of it is used to make potions, stir her cauldron, and do other witchy things.. Minerva also likes to make costumes-one is never too prepared for Halloween! And don’t worry, if you need a costume, she has plenty to borrow! Then, after a long day, Minerva curls up in her hammock, ready to dream of her next great joke, or a new concoction to make. When she wakes up, she’s always ready to tackle the new day! {Word Count: 119}

Prompt: What is your pokemon’s personality?
Arrow is a rough and tumble kind of pokemon. He’s not afraid to pick a fight, which he probably gets from his ex-trainer, who also enjoyed a good fight. Arrow is also head-strong and stubborn, with an iron will that no one can break through. That’s not to say he doesn’t have heartfelt moments though, as he can be affectionate when he wants to be. Lately though, he’s been a bit reclusive, and has been pushing people away, and pushing down his sadness. Many hope his passive aggressiveness will pass, which it probably will-the linoone just needs some time for himself. {Word Count: 101}

Prompt: What is your pokemon’s backstory/history? Where did they come from? Did they originally come from somewhere else?
Arrow was caught as a zigzagoon by a trainer many years ago, when the trainer was barely 11 years old. The two fought many other trainers, and even gym leaders together. As they grew close, the trainer even gifted Arrow a deep blue scarf that matched his own. It’s gone through some wear and tear, but Arrow wears it to this day. However, the adventure was cut a bit short when they lost at a certain gym. Arrow and his team lost to the gym leader of the Rock-type gym in the city of Circhester. Even after battling more and bulking up the team more, he and his trainer lost again. The second defeat was even more crushing, and caused the two to go home.
It wasn’t the end of the team though, as they still fought other pokemon and trainers, ultimately helping them on their journeys. By the time Arrow’s trainer turned about 20, they’d battled thousands of trainers together, before retiring. The team enjoyed their time other ways, and in a way, helped their trainer even find their spouse. The two humans and all their pokemon moved to the countryside, to a farm, where the old battling team could chase each other in large fields and play together. Just recently, however, Arrow and his team lost their human partner to sickness, which has shaken the whole team, and their human family. Most of them are finding comfort in each other, but the lone linoone is a bit more reclusive. {Word Count: 250}

Charley is a quiet soul. He doesn’t do much, mostly because he’s very spoiled. His human takes very good care of him, which has made him a bit lazy. But don’t fret, the attention hasn’t gone to his head! He’s actually very calm and easy-going, albeit a little irritable when he’s awoken from his naps. Charley isn’t a very active pokemon, and won’t seek out exercise himself, so he may have to be pushed a bit to go play. He may seem young, but he’s got the soul of an old man who wants to nap and be a couch potato. If you want to be his friend though, all you really have to do is offer him some tea! {Word Count:120}

Prompt: What is your pokemon’s personality?
Violetta is a very shy poliwhirl-when she’s not on stage. She tends to hide behind her friends when introduced to someone new, and is easily flustered. A poliwrath tried to flirt with her after one of her shows once, and she nearly passed out from embarrassment. Otherwise, Violetta is very loyal, and loves her friends as if they’re family. When she is finally comfortable with someone, she likes to ask lots of questions to get to know them, and is always interested inlearning what they like or don’t like. Sometimes it’s a bit jarring, because it’s like she’s a whole different pokemon when she’s comfortable enough! {Word Count:106}

Believe it or not, Violetta did not belong to a trainer before becoming a performer! The poliwhirl grew up in Lake Knight near Fright City in the Hollows region. She often saw street performers in the city, and even the occasional ballerina being shown on a jumbo screen. She fell in love with the thought of becoming a ballerina like the humans on the screen, and began practicing ballet by herself. Her family often shook their heads, saying she could never become famous like the humans, and that the humans would never let a pokemon dance with them. Violetta then made it her mission to prove them wrong, and began to dance in the streets of Fright City. The humans seemed to enjoy watching her dance, and one of her idols even came to watch her! That idol offered to teach her more, and even let her become part of her ballet troupe. Ever since then, Violetta has been free to dance her heart away! {Word Count:165}

12. Free For All [801 words]

Over the course of a few years, Tea had learnt a lot. He never stopped asking questions about whatever he was curious about or whenever he thought about something, although for many years he had not realized the way his parent's smile would stretch out thinly at some of them.

A few things were quite obvious. He was a sneasel, and so were many of the pokemon he lived with. The rest were weaviles, like his parent, who's name was Water. It was a family tradition to be named after drinks, and they were just two out of their family, out of many across the large mountain range they called home.

They would travel from mountain top to mountain top depending on the seasons and how well the foraging was going, sometimes going in a large group with other sneasels and weaviles, and sometimes just the two of them. And of course, they weren't the only ones who did that. It was the way the whole community lived, in those fluid packs full of pokemon that knew each other. Some were related, and some weren't, they still were part of the group. Any weavile or sneasel could join, after all, they found camaraderie in their similarities. But as easily as someone could join, they could leave. Or so said his parent's tale, as Water would sometimes speak about things down the mountain, and well outside the whole range, that cer had once seen one time cer decided to leave. The familiarity eventually brought cer back. After all, in cer eyes, family was the most important thing in the world. And maybe, just maybe, cer had gotten a bit too old to be globe trotting on cer own.

All that, Tea had found out from cer answers. He liked to think he was quick to understand and pick up on things, often congratulating himself (in his own head, of course) on his sharp wits. Nothing escaped his mind, he told himself.

It hadn't escaped him the fact that the packs they moved between only consisted of sneasels and weaviles, when he was told that way more pokemon existed. Water's tales included many creatures of all shapes and sizes, and he knew that other pokemon lived around the mountains, he had seen them on several occasions, so how come he never found them living in their packs?

He could remember his parent's answer very well: Other pokemon had packs that included many more pokemon, but given the place they lived in was always covered in snow, it was difficult for other pokemon to live just like them. They would be stumbling around in the dark, or freezing from the low temperatures, unable to keep up with them as they ran across the mountain, or they needed more food than what was easily findable, or all of those at once. But if something could have lived like them, they would feel right at home living in the packs.

The details of something that happened during one of their many treks across mountains would always be fuzzy in his head, as he had been only a kid at the time, but he remembered (and asked) enough to have a picture in his head that he was pretty confident in.

Water had found an abandoned nest in a cave they stopped to rest in, with two eggs. Cer had halted their trip for a few days to not leave the eggs alone and wait for the egg's parents to come back. He didn't remember much of that time, only that his parent kept telling him stories to keep him entertained while they waited and waited…

But after a couple days, they left. They couldn't wait forever, and when he was younger, he missed the panic and hesitation about the situation in his own parent's eyes.

They went back the way they had come from, backtracking their steps while his parent carried one egg and he the other, going right back to the small pack they had said their goodbyes to a few days ago. Whatever discussions had happened were outside his memories, but he knew the whole group had searched across the mountain, high and low, for any sign of the egg's parents, only further agitating his parent when no one found any trace of them.

He didn't know when the searching stopped, but he guessed it had to be around the time the eggs hatched into two furry brown and white creatures, and back then, he had also missed the confused looks the whole pack was giving each other.

But how could he have focused on that? As a kid, all he knew was that babies came from eggs, and if the babies' were his parent's, then they had to be his family too. Obviously.

11. Draw/Write about a scene of your choice. [3354 words]

If the mountain range they lived on had any name, no one who lived there or visited frequently knew it. Otherwise, Tea would've found someone who could tell him the name already. But alas, no matter how many years went by, it seemed some of the answers to some things were just…not known by anybody. And that was just how things were.

Grappling with understanding that not everything had an answer was something he struggled with when he was younger. But as a full grown sneasel, it was more-so an annoyance than something that kept him up during the day while he was supposed to be sleeping like everyone else, or even brought him close to tears, as it used to do when he was much younger. But of course, the desire to know certain things always gnawed at the back of his head.

When he was younger, he didn't know why his siblings felt cold. No matter how much they (especially Milk) tried to brush it off, the way their furs fluffed up when they were out in the snow was just one of the many clues of it. The way they would lay right next to other pokemon trying to make a big pile for warmth, the way Milk carried a scarf around claiming it was to look cool, but in reality used it as a blanket during the day, the way they dreaded walking over ice.

The answer was obvious in his head, they weren't ice types, but he wasn't sure as to why. Except that was a lie, but he had to bite his tongue every time he thought about it. They weren't sneasels…except that they were! If they weren't, what the hell were they?

And that was the question his mind had gotten stuck in as an adult, what were they?

He didn't miss how no one had an answer. His parent and all packs had just treated them as sneasels, but he had never seen sneasels without feathers. He had seen hybrids with tails, but they always looked somewhat like a sneasel, or a weavile, and he had even heard of pokemon who had different types than what was usually expected, but they also still resembled their species, but his siblings were completely different from anything that lived in the mountain, and anything that his parent had encountered on his travels.

Or that anyone had encountered ever, for the matter. He had spent days tracking flying pokemon who nested in the mountains, talking with the ones who traveled miles and miles across the sky and saw so many different things, and no one seemed to agree on anything. Answers varied from them being obviously fusions of something, to them being zangoose or ground type, and some had even suggested…

"I'll be back in a few days," He announced to his parent and siblings (the day right after someone gave him the world-shaking information that there were another whole type of sneasels that he just had never seen up in the mountains in his whole life because they just happened to be unable to withstand the cold like the ice sneasels because they were just built differently apparently, and everything seemed to fall into place in his head), not even waiting for an answer before starting to walk.

His parent never made any fuss about it and probably just gave him a thumbs up he didn't see, as cer had been a free wandering spirit in cer youth. Tea sometimes thought that his parent just assumed he was the same, which would explain why cer was always so carefree about him going whenever to chase birds to ask them questions. In a way maybe, the desire to wander was similar to his desire to get answers to everything…

His siblings however, were nosey, and as cute as it was when they followed after him in a neat little line, he sometimes worried as they weren't as good nor as fast as him when it came to travelling over ice and snow. Yet, they always wanted to join in, seeming to pay no attention to how they lagged behind other sneasels and weaviles during mountain trips.

"Where're you going?" Coconut was already walking behind him, with Milk following behind her, completing the siblings line.

"Down the mountain," He slowed his walking speed so his siblings could keep up easier, already accepting that they would just follow him no matter what. As he should have seen coming from the start.

"What's there?"

"I don't know."

"Ah. Why are you going there?"

Over the years, he had picked up that asking many questions would make older pokemon get a bit irritated from time to time, and he had learnt a little bit to regulate himself or only ask certain people. But Coconut didn't care about that, and she had followed in his footsteps and liked asking questions about everything.

And Tea was determined to not be like those pokemon that had gotten cross with him in the past, and he was more than happy to answer his sister's questions with a smile. Even if some of them made his smile thin out a little bit-

"I...want to meet someone," He settled on for an answer, "I heard some sneasels live there."

"We got sneasels at home," Milk said with a huff, "We are sneasels."

Tea felt his feathers stand on edge as he got a bit tense, and he kept his gaze forward to avoid looking at his sibling's expressions.

It was unspoken for him to ever bring up that his siblings were different, mostly out of not wanting them to feel different. But thinking about it, he had to guess they had to know, no matter what they said, it was a bit obvious that they were very different to other sneasels, but somehow, in his mind, he had tried to convince himself for years that if he just ignored that and didn't mention it, no one else would acknowledge it. But of course, that was kinda dumb. He had never asked them how they felt about that specific thing, as even as an adult, he felt completely unequipped to have that discussion. He wanted answers for them, and if the topic came up, he would have to tell them that no one knew, and that was the worst answer he could give them.

"Yes, but uh, we've never met them. And I want to," He said, trying to cover up his thoughts, "They never come up to the peaks, apparently."

"Why?" Coconut managed to catch up to his side.

"I don't know," Tea admitted, hating the words in his mouth, "I'm going to figure it out when we get there."

He had severely overestimated how much less snowy it would be down the mountain. There was still a layer of snow when they got to the area he was suggested to check, but it definitely was much less than in their usual locations. The difference between inches of snow to barely an inch was still welcome, he could see some tough grass peeking out from the snow, and even could see dirt in some places.

Truth be told, he had been expecting to find no snow, no ice, just lush green vegetation like his parent had described in some of cer tales, but in hindsight, that was probably even lower on the mountain, or in some other biome. At least, it seemed it was slightly less cold overall, as his sibling's fur wasn't as fluffed as normal. He had a hard time telling for sure, as the cold just didn't register in his mind.

Adding onto his theory that it was indeed warmer, they had seen more varied pokemon the further down they went over the course of a few days. Some he knew were ice type off the top of his head, but others had fur coats for the weather, although he started to get a good feeling when he started seeing some who seemed to be doing just fine without thick fur and without being ice type.

"I see no sneasels," Milk said as his tail swished, "Are you sure this is the right place?"

"Yes," Tea answered immediately, slowly looking around the rocky and snowy terrain that went up from a small lake, his gaze stopping a few times on scratched rocks, and eventually he pointed at them, "Those are sneasel-made."

"Are you sure?" Milk was unimpressed, and they pointed at some similar, but much deeper, marks that were on the rocky walls, several meters off the ground, "Last time I checked, sneasels can't jump that high. Not even a weavile could."

Tea and Coconut craned their heads up to look at the marks at the same time, and Tea's feather's dropped, his confidence in getting the place right dropping alongside them.

"Are you sure?" Coconut asked them, "I think I can do it."

"No way," Milk looked at her crossing their arms.

"Yeah way."

Tea slowly looked down from the marks to their little "argument", the hint of a smile bringing his feathers back up.

"Hm," Milk glanced at the marks then back at their sister, "Nuh-huh."

"Yuh-huh!" To prove her point, she jumped, making it about a meter away from the marks. She tried to cling onto the wall with her claws, but they just slid right off and she fell on her back, "Ow-I'm fine!"

Tea and Milk stared at her for a second before Milk broke into a very loud laughter, startling a few of the other pokemon in the area. They were laughing so hard that their tail started slapping the ground, while Tea was trying to cover his grin with one hand to not outright laugh at his little sister, trying to keep his snorting down.

"Told you!"

Coconut stood up, sticking her tongue out at both of them, not taking any offense to it, "I almost made it! A weavile could do it!"

"Could not!" Milk gasped between laughs.

"Could!"

"What's a weavile," Someone asked, peeking from the top of the rock wall.

The three of them looked up after being startled, their banter immediately stopping as they all realized they were looking at a sneasel.

A purple sneasel.

Tea grinned immediately as his ears and feathers stood up, and turned to see Milk, giving them a triumphant laugh.

"Told you!"

Milk's ears flattened against their skull and they stuck their tongue out at him.

Coconut was the one with the most focused head of the three, at least at that moment.

"Hey!!" She called out to the stranger, waving with her claws, "You're a sneasel!"

"Uh, yeah?" The sneasel raised an eyebrow, "Are you going to answer my question or…"

Tea looked up, "Ah! Weavile! Sneasel's evolution."

"What?" The stranger leaned further forward on the edge of the rocky wall, "Huh?"

Tea stood on the tips of his feet, and raised his voice thinking that maybe the other sneasel had misheard him, "Weavile is sneasel's evolution!"

"What are you talking about!? That's sneasler!"

"What-" Tea glanced at his siblings, who just shrugged, "You're just saying sneasel wrong!"

"No? Sneasler is the evolution!"

"What!? No!"

"Sneasler sounds like a fake name," Coconut muttered.

The purple sneasel jumped down from the top of the wall, slowing their fall by digging in their claws on the wall, leaving a deep scratch mark on the way down.

"You're a sneasel, how do you not know this?" The stranger looked Tea up and down, "Wait-right? You are a sneasel, right?"

"Yes," Tea answered and gestured at his siblings without thinking, being used to thinking of his siblings as the same as him, even though he had the feeling it wasn't entirely true, "We all are."

The other sneasel's eyes went wide and their eyes darted between the three of them, looking at Milk and Coconut up and down the same way they had looked at Tea.

"Oh-huh??? Okay? How do you guys not know what a sneasler is? Were your parents sneasels or something."

"Our parent is a weavile," Coconut said.

"What the heck is a weavile!" The other sneasel threw their claws to the air, stomping on the ground.

"Sneasel's evolution!"

"That's called a sneasler!"

"Stop!" Milk shouted, "We are getting nowhere with this."

The other sneasel rolled their eyes but nodded half-heartedly, "Okay-fine. Yeah. Whatever."

Tea sighed, fighting the urge to roll his eyes too. His mind was now dying of curiosity as to what was a sneasler, but he didn't want to re-start the pointless conversation.

"...did you make those," He heard Coconut ask, and looked at her, finally taking his eyes off the other sneasel. She was pointing at the scratches on the rocky wall that they were talking about earlier.

"No, but another sneasel probably did," The purple sneasel answered, and Tea looked back at them, "It wasn't you guys?"

"No…my claws slid right off the rocks," Coconut pointed at the very light scratch her claws had left on the wall.

"Weird…" The sneasel scratched their chin, seeming to think deeply about something for a few seconds, "You guys aren't from here, right? You look…different."

Tea nodded, "Yes, we're from higher on the mountain. You are from here right?"

"Yeah, born and raised," The sneasel glanced towards the peak of the mountain, "If you're from there, why are you here?"

Coconut answered faster than Tea, "We heard that other sneasels lived here and we wanted to see them!"

"You guys are weird," The purple sneasel said, "No offense."

"So are you," Milk said.

"Well, you guys look weirder than me. I've seen dozens of sneasels and never saw one that looked like you."

"So have we!"

The other sneasel blinked and raised an eyebrow, "What?"

"Where we live, there's only sneasels that aren't purple," Tea said, "And weaviles, that are the same colors as the sneasels there, because they evolve from those."

"...I'm starting to think…" The other sneasel hummed, "Maybe we mean the same things. Maybe sneaslers and weaviles are the same thing, but you guys call them that for some weird reason. Cuz sneasler's are the same color as any sneasel here, and they evolve from them."

Coconut started smiling and clapped her claws together with a loud clink sound, "That makes so much sense! That must be it!"

"That's really weird though," Milk muttered, and the stranger nodded with a shrug.

"Yeah," The other sneasel stuck one of their claws on the wall and started climbing back up, "Oh, well, see ya around, weird sneasels."

"You're leaving just like that?" Tea asked, watching them climb with ease with growing confusion.

"Well, yeah? I got things to do? Places to be?"

He bit his lip, wanting to ask them a few questions but decided against it. If they were in such a hurry, it was better to let them just leave. And it wasn't as if he could follow, he was sure his claws would slide right off the wall just like Coconut's.

And truth be told…he wasn't sure if he should feel accomplished. Meeting a different sneasel hadn't really made everything click into place, his siblings were still odd ones out. It would've been so much easier if they were purple, or if the stranger was a brown sneasel, or had round ears like his siblings. Or anything that would make them seem similar.

He vaguely heard that the stranger said something else, and that Milk replied to it, but he wasn't paying attention, his mood a bit soured from meeting yet another dead end.

"I'll be back later, maybe tomorrow," Tea announced to his family another day, already having picked up his spirits from the last failed attempt at finding information, and turned to leave immediately as usual.

"Are you going down the mountain again?" Coconut gave a few big steps to try to catch up with him.

He switched his pace so she could catch up, and soon enough she was at his side, looking a bit smug. Milk was following behind, his expression mostly neutral but watching his older sibling very closely.

Tea felt as if something was up, but he couldn't put his claw on it, "Yes, why?"

"Oohh," Coconut smirked and poked his side with a claw, "Are you going to visit someone?"

Tea stopped walking and looked at her, suddenly finding her grin much more confusing, and then looked at Milk. Both of his siblings stopped walking at the same time as him, their tails swishing. He just stared at both of them.

"No?" He answered after a few seconds of silence, "Who would I visit?"

"Oh, you know," Coconut kept grinning.

"...I don't."

Coconut's ears dropped slightly, looking as if she didn't believe him, while Milk rolled their eyes quite dramatically.

"Tea, you can't keep a secret. We already know," They said, their tone being slightly exasperated.

"Milk, I'm not keeping any secret," He said, matching their sibling's tone.

"Course not, cuz you suck at it. We already figured it out," They grinned, elbowing Coconut. She just nodded, crossing her arms, matching their grin.

He stared at them, watching as his sister's grin remained in place. Milk's, on the other hand, didn't hold on for long.

"You're going to visit that purple sneasel again," They said flatly.

At that, Tea let out a confused sound. He hadn't even thought about the weird sneasel since they had gotten back to the snowy peaks, as the whole interaction had not answered anything he truly cared about, it only gave him more things to wonder about such as what was really a sneasler, but it was very low on his list of priorities to find answers to.

His goal was still to find a clue of what his siblings might be, and he was going back to asking flying type travellers, as they were the best source of information around.

"No? Why would I do that?"

"Cuz you have a crush on them?" Milk answered right away, matter-of-fact, "Duh."

"Huh!? What!?" Tea's eyes went wide, "I don't! Where did you get that idea from!?"

Coconut stuck her tongue out at him, "You do!"

"I don't!?"

"Yeah, you looked super disappointed after they left, and you kept staring at them," Milk huffed, "It was so obvious, man."

"I-that's not true?" His ears dropped in embarrassment, "I was staring because they were purple!"

"Yeah, and that's your favorite color!" Coconut pointed out, smiling widely.

"It's not! Where-what!? Why did you make that up!?"

Coconut blinked, "I'm almost sure that's true, actually."

He saw as Milk nodded, but he didn't know what else to say, and his eyes just kept darting between his two siblings and their confident expressions. Seeing as neither of them had a hint of situational awareness (or maybe they did and were fully aware they were wrong and the whole thing was just to prank him, or maybe they sincerely thought they were teasing him about his crush successfully), he sighed heavily while running his palms down his face.

"You guys are so wrong-"

"Now you're saying 'you guys' like them!" Coconut said, her grin brightening even more.

"You're reading too much into it!"

Milk broke into laughter, and Coconut tried to keep herself from snickering.

"Ah, that's it, I'm leaving!" He shook his head and started walking, looking ahead to ignore his siblings, going at a much faster pace than usual, out of embarrassment rather than actual annoyance, "See you!"

"Have fun on your date!" Coconut shouted, "Don't be afraid to hold their claws!"

"It's not a date!"

Neither of his siblings followed him, and he didn't know if it was that they were finally done and were giving him space, or if they actually thought he was going on a date and didn't want to tag along or whatever the case, but he made mental note to get back at them and to not let them live down any crush they ever got in their lives.

(But for the record, he did not totally have a crush. At all.)

Pokemon being used/link: Kasai - https://toyhou.se/16765617.kasai
Archive: https://toyhou.se/~literature/140147.te ... -territory
Prompt: What is your Pokémons personality?
Kasai is one of those pokémon that hates humans. Whether this comes from his encounter with a poacher as a child or from a natural instinct, one can ask oneself the question. In any case, if he comes across one, he'll char 'em and finish 'em off BBQ style. And without any sauce on top of that.

Territorial feline, Alpha of his Pride, he will not accept anything other than absolute respect from his own kind, but especially from those who tread on the soil of what belongs to him and are strangers.

He will surely tell you that he is a stern but fair father and that he is doing this for the good of his offspring, but all in all ... he will say no and turn his face the other way when his children disobey him, after all it is by creating his own rules that he has come to where he is today, he appreciates the independence his family can show. That said, if they disobey him and the consequences are serious... the punishment will be accordingly.

Kasai could be called a Tsundere, but only with his family, because for the others he will be closer to a yandere... without the dere.

Passionate about hunting, like any feline, he has surprisingly set up a system that is closer to that of a lion than a tiger. Hunting in groups to get bigger prey is his preferred way of hunting. As for the humans, he hunts them for sport and will not eat them, he is too afraid of getting indigestion...

Kasai is not nice, he is not cool and to be quite honest he is far from being the fairest Alpha. But he does what he can to ensure the prosperity of his Pride and that will have to be enough to give them a proper future.

Prompt: What is your pokemons full moveset and when did they learn them?

Flamethrower A reliable special Fire-type STAB that can surprise physically defensive Pokemon.
Probably one of Kasai's favorites moves, after fire fang. It was also the first move he learned to defend himself from a distance. At that time he was still young and lonely, so when he found himself facing a group of Golbat he had to manage to reach them (and run away, but he doesn't talk about that).

Will-O-Wisp The user shoots a sinister flame at the target to inflict a burn. Burns opposing Pokemon regardless of stat changes.
It was a fire-tree evening, when the leaves lose their green colour to imitate a flame. It was a normal evening, with his beloved Faia ... but it wasn't to be. He doesn't know why, he doesn't know how, they were confronted with a ghost pokemon that prevented them from spending an evening together, so Kasai had a hissy fit. Unable to really get rid of his opponent, his rage was so great that for a moment he lost all sense of things and thought that he would enter the afterlife himself if it allowed him to take on this Other. Was this an answer from Arceus to his request, or a development of which he was unaware, in any case, a strange fire came out of his forehead to go and char the intruder. A good thing done...

Blaze Kick has a 10% chance to inflict burn and also an increased chance to land critical hits, which is offset by its rather mediocre 80% accuracy.
Kasai has no professional training in martial arts, he is not like those Urshifus who go to humans for training, no, everything is instinctual with him. So hitting the enemy with his fire-covered paws was not something he took long to learn. He was facing a Marchamp and it was an epic fight, we'll skip the details, but he fought this opponent for a whole day and came out stronger by one move.

Close Combat Close Combat deals damage but lowers the user's Defense and Special Defense by one stage each after attacking.
He is not proud of the way he learned this move... He was hunting in his territory and found himself watching one of those big figthing panda's training with a human. At first wanting to chase them away in anger, he found himself watching them execute a move with precision. It was an amazing move, one that looked very powerful, so he took it upon himself to wait and try to learn it by watching. Which he eventually did with great pride, before realising that he had learned from a human, going into a rage of humiliation and throwing himself at these intruders to drive them away.

Taunt The target is taunted into a rage that allows it to use only attack moves for three turns; shuts down defensive and support Pokemon.
It didn't take him long to learn this, as a child he couldn't help but provoke others. As the years went by, he perfected his ability to enrage others with his words until he made a move.

Snarl The user yells as if it's ranting about something, which lowers the Sp. Atk stat of opposing Pokemon.
One of the few moves he learned directly from his mother, whose character was not much easier than his own.

Scary face Scary Face lowers the target's Speed by two stages.
It seems that the more scars he has on his body, the more effective this move is. It's a move he acquired almost passively, over time.

Prompt: Show me/describe this pokemon doing their favorite move! How did they learn it and why is it their favorite?

It's a move Kasai loves, but one he had to get after a big, epic battle. It's not hard to hear him talk about it, once he gets going on it, he can't help but recount what happened, seeming to embellish it a little more each time he tells it.

It was a long time ago, before he met Faia, when he was still lonely and looking for a territory. He found himself fighting a Hydreigon who also seemed to be looking for territory (or maybe something else, it's not like he stopped to ask).
He had previously found that this territory would be perfect to start his pride, surrounded by mountains, a water source not too far away and grass to attract the herbivores. Perfect. So he wasn't going to share with another predator and he made it clear to this empty head.

[Onibi: Why empty head daddy? - Kasai : Because he has three heads, how can he have three brains, it's impossible. Listen to the rest...]

Having provoked the dragon with his words, Kasai set about trying to chase it away with his gestures and a great battle ensued that lasted several days. The Hydreigon's attacks were powerful, but Kasai was not to be outdone, even if his repertoire was more limited, his thirst for success carried him towards a victory he knew was inevitable.

To be honest, Kasai learned several of his moves during this fight, like Flare Blitz for example, but he will never dwell on that, preferring to talk about his fight and Fire Fang. He will elaborate on the places that make this battle, the ground, the air, the water. How he found himself having to fight underwater, his Flamethrower lacking effectiveness and could only bite his opponent. How the fire that made up more than 50% of his person seemed to gather in his throat and on his fangs and how for the first time he bit another pokemon with fangs of fire. And not the last.

Pokemon being used/link: https://toyhou.se/16551502.ashen
Archive: https://toyhou.se/The_Random_Mossling/c ... er:3312744
Prompt: 6. What is your Pokémon backstory/history? Where did they come from? Did they originally live somewhere else?

Ashen the dark Nickit never liked the sun, the bright light always gave her headaches. But yet, she loved flowers and she loved warmth. Which are 2 things that do not come in the night, flowers dislike the night and the darkness always enveloped her with a chill. So, she stayed forever in the dark, cold, embrace of the moon.

The moon was a curious subject to Ashen. While it was beautiful, it gave no heat to her, leaving her alone and cold without many friends to comfort and warm her. Despite her type, the Nickit, being known for criminal tendencies like stealing, she loved others and loved giving hugs to others.

However others weren't as kind and forgiving, they would hiss and growl when she walked past. They would mock her bushy tail used for hiding prints by shaking their tails and brushing up their footprints when she walked past. She heavily disliked those pokemon, and loathed how they had friends.

She would never wish her fate on those pokemon even if they were rude and unforgiving. So whenever she could she would help. Are your berries in the tree you planted too high for your tiny hands? Ashen would climb your tree and pick all of those berries for you for free. No food for your party? Ashen will provide as much food as she could.

Most pokemon would shoo her away if she tried to help. But yet she kept on trying, kept looking for friends. So when she finally would get even a smile or an acquaintance who stayed with her, she wouldn't let go and kept them by her side. If they stayed, she would defend them until her voice went hoarse and the whole world knew her plight.

But if they went, too afraid of her Nickit tendencies to nab something (but then quickly return it with too many apologies), she would never see their face again. She was ashamed of herself for driving them off. Her tendencies became worse because of suppressing them for so long.

She would nab something without thinking, then have to explain and apologies to the owner until tears streamed down her face and the pokemon wouldn't even listen. She would use her tail to erase her tracks without thinking, and wouldn't notice until she got weird looks from others. When she smiled, laughed, or said something with a smile her smile would be sly and look evil or crude. When she ran she ran silently, making it easy for when she barked or said somebody's name that they would startle.

These incidents would make her feel guilty, her tendencies were horrible and her fellow Nickits were sly and rude. She became more isolated, and stopped trying to make friends. She would often stay in her cave, envious of the pokemon without the problems with the sun being too bright.

And there she stayed, in her cave during the day and foraging at night in order to eat. At least until she was found by a trainer who loved to steal and be tricky. She disliked this trainer with a passion, and was stubborn and wouldn't listen to them. Eventually the trainer was bored and released her, this made her joyous, she was released from a horrible trainer.

She went back to her cave to find a family of rockruffs in her abandoned cave. 2 adults and a child played a game in the cave. Ashen didn't have the heart to take back her cave from the growing family. So she walked off, finding a large tree with a hollow area inside and decided to reside there.

Pokemon being used/link:Dollie
Archive:Archive
Prompt: Draw or describe your pokemon's cafe order! Do they get a black coffee? Doughnuts? Etc.?
Dollie gets the same order everywhere she goes. And the cafes know it well. It's a smoked butterscotch latte with two extra shots of espresso, a lot of whipped cream on top, and chocolate drizzle on the top along with the normal butterscotch dressing. She also likes to get a couple of doughnuts. The first is a cream filled doughnut with chocolate frosting. The second is a regular doughnut with chocolate icing and rainbow sprinkles. As one can tell, Dollie is very high maintenance, and is unapologetic about it. {Word Count: 89}

Pokemon being used/link:Blossom
Archive:Archive
Prompt: How does your pokemon feel about the changing season?
If we were to be honest, this is Blossom's very first fall! She's heard a lot about leaves changing color and them falling from the trees, and she can't wait to see it for herself! She's also been told how the weather gets cold, so people tend to dress warm in big jackets and even hats and gloves. She thinks that's a bit silly, but that's probably because she already has a thick coat of fur to keep her warm! Overall, Blossom is very excited to experience fall for the first time, and is just waiting to jump in a pile of crunchy leaves! {Word Count: 104}

Prompt: Draw or describe your pokemon's favorite fall activity!
Minerva loves fall! She's so excited to go trick or treating-especially the trick part-and have a good time with friends! Her favorite part, however, is making Halloween costumes! She holds a Halloween party every year, and hosts a costume contest for the scariest costume! So about the end of August, she begins making a costume to be ready by Halloween. And though it's not exactly considered a fall activity, Minerva enjoys the process all the same. She even makes some for her dear friends as well, and every year, she goes above and beyond in her designs-which in turn are talked about year after year!{Word Count:105}
