Show or tell us about your Chicoon setting up their tent! Where would they choose to pitch it?

Entry: Marelise spent the day tirelessly searching for the perfect spot to set up camp for her and her friend Juniper. Juniper’s sweet offspring would be joining them, as well, but Marelise avoided her to try and pick the best spot for the tent on her own. Destiny is a blabbermouth and would surely have told Marelise where she would pitch the tent if she hadn’t avoided her. The pink fluffball had a habit of using her fortune telling skills to spoil surprises and hard work alike.
Marelise was cutting her way through underbrush with her trusty hunting knife, even though she felt guilty for ruining the lovely and lush flora. She was hoping to find a nice, flat, and maybe rocky place to set up camp, but she had gotten turned around from the sea and the cliffs beside it. Maybe if she went East… no West instead? She suddenly felt utterly lost. She decided to take a brief break on a large unearthed root.
Distraught and a little dehydrated, the flower-look-alike Chicoon relaxed against the root, resting her eyes on the rustling sky of leaves above. The green and yellow leaves swirled into themselves, making a beast eating ballet unfold before her eyes. Was she hallucinating? Or were the leaves waving to her? Soon enough, the leaves danced their way over her eyes and welcomed her into the land of dreams.

Before Marelise knew it, she had dozed off for what seemed like an hour. An hour may not seem like much to you city folk, but to her she knew that light was fleeting and her time to find a worthy camping ground was dwindling. She bolted up, grabbing her equipment and rushing due north, by what her compass promised her. Shortly, she erupted out of the mess of underbrush and vibes into a almost fairytale-like glade. She nearly had to catch her breath from the almost perfect spot she had stumbled into. The glade was as if the clouds had cleared and the sun had emerged; like if the trees parted just for her and the sky were teasing her to dance. The glade had a small ping that was fed by the nearby creek. If she was not mistaken, fish even seemed to mingle between the algae of the pond. All seemed content and too good to be true as she made her way to the center of the clearing.
She giggled to herself, making a quick victory dance as she unraveled her camping equipment and began to set up camp. She usually found tent-staking painful, but she came about it with surprising ease. Was it really this easy all along?
She wiped her brow, smirking with pride as she viewed her work. All she had to do now was get her friends and bring them back to camp. As she began to leave the glade, the forest seemed to shimmer and she yawned.

Juniper shook Marelise lightly, enticing her to wake up. “Mary! Get yo you lazy bones! Don’t tell me you took a nap instead of finding camp! -A-” Marelise jolted up, a string of drool hanging from her fangs.
“HUuhhh?” She glanced around in a daze, fear plaguing her brow. “But…but I already set it up!!”
Juniper huffed, holding up the unpacked tent and camping materials.
“Well…. I guess we’ll have to set up together, huh?” Juniper smiled at her friend, ruffling her hair.
“You see, Auntie Mary, I knew we’d end up working together” Destiny gloated, grinning.

Entry: Story

Miles had very little experience camping; however, he came fully prepared. Eh…maybe a little too prepared. He brought nearly everything with him, including his favorite blanket. After walking a few feet, Miles quickly realized that all of the unnecessary gear was weighing him down. There was no way he was going to be able to find the perfect location. Miles also knew that he needed to act fast. Even if he had the strength and stamina to survey multiple areas, by the time he got a good look at his surroundings, the perfect spot would be taken by another Chicoon. Miles was able to spot an area next to some large pine trees that was not too crowded yet. He silently wondered why not many Chicoons were pitching their tent here. Miles tried not to worry too much as he began to set up his tent. Soon enough, Miles realized why other Chicoons were avoiding the area. He heard the wasps before he saw them. Luckily, the wasps only stung him a few times before he managed to unzip his poorly put up tent. Miles closed the tent up and threw his blanket over his head to cry. Maybe someone could help him move his tent tomorrow…

Aurinko had staked their tent spot nice and early, tail wiggling with satisfaction as they began to take all the pieces of their bright orange tent out of it's bag. Last year, they had accidentally slept in and ended up completely missing out on any decent spots, a mistake they vowed not to make again.

This year they'd found the perfect spot, a sizeable clearing by a small cliff that gave them the perfect view of the entire forest. It was simply perfect!

They began to set up their tent, tugging and pushing on the tent's wood supports, honking softly with contempt as the flexible wood fought against their attempts. After a good couple of tries, the long rods slid into place and made it easy to tie the rope to the pegs. They took a step back to admire their work, smirking at all the unlucky late comers who were trying to snatch up the last couple of decent spots. With all the hard work done, they early slid into their tent and settled down for a small nap.

Wes has sat vigil all day by the Waypost, watching chicoons arriving at the grounds. He saw some pitching their tents without fuss, while some others were having some, or a lot, of difficulty. At one point he heard a loud THUMP, and rushed over to see a pink fella franticly trying to fix someone's nest, with the creator staring on in frustration before the fella was forgiven.

Padding away Wes caught sight of a chicoon in the middle of the water! Shaking his head and wings flapping in disbelief, he turned and observed some others. Deciding to lend a hand to some of those needing the help, he bounced around for the rest of the day.

One chicoon had seemed to be content to sleep under the stars tonight, and he was happy someone would see the meteors! He had been watching them the past few nights. The heavens seemed to be raining them down more often this time of year, so as the sun set he started making his way to his own tent to settle in, smiling to himself hoping the campers enjoyed the gifts he left for them...

Show or tell us about your Chicoon foraging! What do they find, and what do they do with their new items?

Entry: Story
Raindrop was excited to adventure! While most things seemed to scare him away, the forest always called to him with open arms and a lullaby voice. He decided to look for mushrooms! While he wasn't quite sure if he could eat them, he knew they looked pretty cool! He could hear other's nearby so hr climbed through the trees to find a quite spot. He spotted a beautiful dandelion and grabbed it up, placing it his fur! He made a purr-like sound before continuing to look around. He spotted a VERY shiny rock and picked it up at well, holding it in his mouth. He realized that if he was going to gather more things, he'd need a basket or bag! He tried his best to make one from grass, using some sap he found that tasted horrible to stick it together. It worked, sort of, and he went on his way! He found what he assumed to be blueberries and nommed up a few before taking some much and storing them in his makeshift bag. He explored for a while longer, grabbing another pretty rock and more dandelions before heading back to camp. He took out his berries and gave them to passing chicoons, smiling and honking as their faces turned from confused to joyous. He got to his tent and decorated it with the flowers he had along with the rocks, and honked happily when he saw what he had created! He nestled inside and breathed out a sigh as he looked at the other chicoons having fun on the beach. Maybe he would join them, but not tonight.
