Thorin heads into the woods, ignoring those who look at him a little closely as one of those things that go bump in the night. Keeping tabs on where the camp is behind him, he follows the twisting game trails of the woods and keeps alert for any change in the sounds of his surroundings. Checking in hollows in the trees or fallen logs, he disturbs a few squirrels but moves on quickly. It's as he's entered a small patch of clearing with some thick underbrush that the birds and forest ambience have gone silent. Daring to move a few more steps forward, a slight russle in the leaf litter has him sharply turn his eyes to the sound. He crouches, see's a shifting shadow, and then he pounces!
