To be honest, Lionbloom was too busy resting and relaxing at the camp to miss his packed schedule full of cooking for his clients and taking care of constantly chirping chicks at the stables, but he had to admit that his heart ached at the thought of his friends back home. Birchspots, Sweetsap, Ivyflurry, to name a few: he wondered what kind of mayhem they got up to while he was here, vacationing under a beaming sun and relishing in the relief of the cool breeze parting his golden fur. Surely, they would both have boundless stories to tell when he did return, hopefully he hadn't missed much. His mind even flashed to his annoying older brother, Lynxprowl, who would surely be spending his time almost burning the kitchen down in frustration making apple pie, probably wishing he was scaling trees and looting bird eggs instead. Yes, what he missed most firstly was the cats he grew to love.
Shaded Hollow had a face all of its own. While to some cats here, it may seem perpetually gloomy and depressing, with its days leaden with distant storms, hills blanketed evergreen with mist, there was a certain beauty to it. Petrichor wafting from the pulp of moss, mushroom caps decorated with delicate droplets of rainwater. Fir and pine needles strewn across the bed of earth in patterns like some specter's indecipherable warning. It was a land of rain undisturbed, where the sun hid away, peeking from under clouds the color of ash. All these things he was so accustomed to and he didn't doubt each one would greet him as old inseparable friends do once he finally returned home. In the meantime, he contented himself to latch onto the trunks of trees in camp, marking them with his claws and chewing on the sweet taste of their bark, a traditional treat of Shaded Hollow in the winters usually fried and served with honey.
Additionally, he could always hear a distant melody from one of the artisans, Ravenpearl, plucking at the shining silver and starlight strings of a harp under the shelter of wisteria branches. While they've never meaningfully interacted, Lionbloom half-expected to hear that soft tinkling join the charged summer air at any time at this camp, so her songs possibly meant more to him than he initially let on. He was far too shy to compliment her, though, which he's sure would elicit some sarcastic response from Birchspots, considering he was
"the best cook in their entire village" so he claimed. Perhaps it was a good thing he went on this trip then, if it'd finally convince him to break out of his shell.
