Zed would absolutely be described as a mon who is against modern day societal norms, through and through. And despite the prickly exterior and poison in the mon's fangs… Zed makes a great friend to fight the system with or just grab brunch with even. But what really makes this Umbreon snap is gender.

Zed doesn't mind what other people call themselves, that's their business after all. But it becomes an issue when people or Mon alike try to fit Zed into a box. In fact, this mon doesn't even want to be in a PokeBall for that matter. Zed refuses to conform to the pressures of others and chooses not to have a label. Not even agender as so many try to offer, with new seasonings and flavors to sound more enticing. There are so many identities which some find comforting, but that's not Zed's personal experience.Zed will still cheer for you as you find something that suits you and makes you happy. Though don't even start with gender norms... Zed could have a whole PowerPoint at the ready about evolution of different societal gender norms and how they impact modern day people who are ruled by them, forming their lives around silly concepts of divisions ingrained into the systems. Don't take your chances…

The very concept of gender rolls off the fur of this umbreon's back like droplets of pond water on a duck. They'll never be able to stick, and Zed wants people to respect that. Anyone who has tried to tell Zed what pronouns or assortment of genders are in a box with "Zed" scrawled on it in marker are met with disamusement.

"If it is so hard for you to refer to me without your labels, then do not refer to me… Don't turn me into something I'm not just to make yourself comfortable, because I won't fit neatly into anything no matter how much of me you cut out in your attempts to force me in. I'm a Jack out of the box, finally escaping my prison of despair. So don't dare try to put me back for your sake. I am me. Proudly and unashamed, and I won't be taking criticism."

Zed isn't just a number. It's the lack of a count, something that can't be divided apart. There's no infinity here, just a gap where something others may place value on refuses to exist. And Zed is the reason this pokemon chose such a name.

They're against bullies!
When sending offerings to some mythicals and legendaries, most never replied back in response for aid when this hierarchy started in his home... the other mythicals and legendaries had also mysteriously gone missing, the higher ups he once respected paid him no mind. Thus, Zerif made it his personal mission to help out any way he could and scour the land to help Pokémon in need! He is currently the sole operator of a team of Pokémon trying to undo the hierarchy created by special/evolved Pokémon that are far stronger than the forests, tundra's, deserts, and other biomes they roam in. They bully the weak, exile Pokémon and destroy their homes. Nobody knows why some of them started acting like this, but maybe it had to do with a corrupted gem found 5 years prior...

The sound coming from the elegant pillar located central within the town made Haunt feel sick.
From what he'd heard from the folks around town, they were "the premier guild" and "the only ones who could protect the town", and that line of thought repulsed the Umbreon. What kind of group would rely on some prissy pokemon living in what essentially equaled a castle? Just because the gods said they should be?
One step after another, he found himself standing at the foot of the stairs that lead to what was known as the Ethereal Court. For a moment, his gaze did not break from the building before him, and he pushed himself to continue walking. If he had anything to say, he was going to say it to whoever it was that ran this clown show.

The floors reflected his dark visage as he walked through the Court's wide entrance hall, and his scowl deepened as he paused for a moment. After staring at himself for a moment, he continued along his way to find the boss to speak to.
The door stood before him, clear and ever-looming. This was what he came to do.
"...I don't recall making an appointment with you, you know."
A Furfrou sat behind a desk, single eye fixed on him. Haunt scowled as the boss spoke to him, and he huffed.
"What do you stand to gain?" He started, tone laced with venom. "Do you really think you're doing something great, here? With your palace to your ego?"
"You don't understand, do you?" The Furfrou's tone was level, and that hit a nerve with Haunt. "Perhaps you haven't been chosen. Or perhaps you're just stupid."
"What your stupid clown show does, do you think you're the only one who can do it? Who can go out and rescue people?" Haunt snapped back, his voice raising. "Do you really have your head so far up your own self-indulgent ego that you think you're the ones who can do the job?"
"Boss"' eyes narrowed as Haunt snarled at him, and he seemed to glance over to somewhere next to his desk. "If you won't calm yourself down, I am going to have you escorted out of my facility."
"Go ahead!" Haunt barked back, causing the little Vulpiii sleeping nearby to wake up. "Soon everyone will realize what you all really are - just a group of nobodies who parade around under the guise of being chosen by the gods!"
The Furfrou got up from his desk, collecting the now trembling bundle of orange fur to bring her back to his chair. "I have heard enough. Gummy, if you may so kindly.."
A large, intimidating Lycanroc entered the room, and Haunt scowled. "You don't need to tell me twice. You're all just a waste of the town's time, and I don't get why Aeth would pick some losers over people who actually care about their job."
With a lash of his tail, Haunt left the premises, a growl still caught in his throat.

prompt: He's against injustice. Where he's from, not all Pokémon are treated equally, with Dark- and Ghost- type Pokémon excluded from lots of things, because they're revered as "dangerous" and "scary". He grew up his whole life feeling relatively outcasted from all the other Pokémon, and he felt like something needed to be done about how badly they treated them. As he grew up, he traveled around cities and proved to every Pokémon that they're all equal and deserve kindness just as much as they do, and the Pokémon listened. Eventually, the whole region was in full support of equality for all Pokémon, and Zero was elated. He decided to travel around to other regions to fight for other Pokémon who are too scared to fight for themselves, and they are very thankful that someone like Zero is brave enough to fight for what is right for the sake of others.

Phoenix can't stand when people try to force other people to change. Whether this be trying to change their personality, appearance, or really anything the person doesn't want to change, it bothers Phoenix a lot. For example, they often see more outgoing friends try to make their more introverted friends attend lots of social gatherings like big parties, even though these can be quite overwhelming for them. Of course, Phoenix realizes they might just be trying to include their friends, it's when there's a lot of pressure on the introverted friends to always attend these parties whether they want to or not that it bothers them. On the reverse side, Phoenix would not want the outgoing friends to be pressured not to attend parties on their own if they wanted to, either. They think everyone should be able to decide for themselves if they want to attend or not.
Furthermore, Phoenix doesn't like how people are often pressured to change their appearance to fit "beauty standards" or anything like that. They don't think anyone should be bullied or ostracized just because they don't want to wear whatever is considered "fashionable" at the moment, the same goes for hairstyles and anything else appearance-wise. Phoenix thinks people should be able to make their own style without having to worry about what other people will say about it.
Phoenix really just wants everyone to be able to be themselves, without anyone trying to pressure them to change to suit what they want. When Phoenix was younger, they tried to just go along with what everyone else was saying so as not to stand out at all and avoid being bullied. That's why Phoenix made their circles look the way they look now; it's a reminder to themself not to let anyone pressure them to change out of fear of what anyone else will think about it, and they also hope that it might encourage others who are struggling with this to stand up for themselves and be who they are.

Mason is against cringe culture! She thinks that everyone should be allowed to enjoy what they want as long as it isn't harming themselves or others. Though she would be against it either way, there's a distant story to her extreme dislike for it.

When rawr was just a young cosmonaut, she was often pushed around by some older higher ups who considered her to be immature. They would whisper about rawr behind rawrz back, though rumors often spread.

At first, she believed it to be because of her age and constantly tried to prove rawrself to them. There were countless trials she had to push through, be it doing menial tasks around town or excelling at her duties as a cosmonaut.

However, their treatment started to make sense on one particular day. She had been looking over the others repairing a rocket that had crash-landed, and they assigned her to bring them materials. She obliged, obediently delivering tools, bolts and anything else they needed. But her heart shattered when she began to trot over only to hear them talking about her.

"Mason's just so... out there. I don't know how she expects to be taken seriously with that hair..."

"Right? And she gets so excited about the strangest things. It's almost embarrassing. One time she was just gushing to everyone about some space junk she found on some moon."

Mason had heard enough. Rawr dashed away, squeezing her eyes shut tight and trying not to cry. She didn't know other Pokemon could be so cruel before this, but rather than being ashamed, she was angry. Red-hot rage flowed through her as she ran, feeling as if fire was burning under her feet. Mason hated being angry, it felt sickening and often overpowered her greatly. But if she stayed here for any longer, rawr feared this anger would never leave her.

So she went to the only person she knew could help. Laika, the newly appointed Stonekeeper of the dark planet they resided. "What troubles you, my cosmonaut?" said the beast, tilting her head.

"I just need- I need to leave. Please don't ask me why. I need to get far away from here." Mason's voice was raw and angry, and she could hardly look the bigger Pokemon in the eye.

Laika looked thoughtful, sitting silently for what felt like ages. Then, she dipped her head. "If you insist, I think I know a place where you could go." She stood up, looking down at Mason with a strange vulnerability in her eyes. "Just promise you'll be safe, okay?"

"Uh, sure... but why?" Mason winced, wondering if she'd be sent to Mercury - she couldn't easily handle that heat.

"You are one of my cosmonauts," Laika began, smiling, "and no matter where you choose to go, I still will care about you all the same."

Mason tried not to tear up again, the anger in rawr melting away. But she couldn't hide her wide smile as they wordlessly traveled far, far away at light speed. After a short while, they had landed on a planet quite unfamiliar to Mason; Earth. Rawr's eyes widened and she swerved her head to look at Laika, who simply nodded, grinning.

Ever since then, the Umbreon has lived on earth among a team of wonderful and accepting Pokemon. Though rawr doesn't often get disrespected or put down anymore, she always watches out for those who are a little different and shows them kindness, which has gotten rawr a ragtag group of Pokemon friends. And if she catches anyone judging another before getting to know them, that old rage comes back all the same. However she now tends to handle those situations by showing positivity to the bullied party rather than running away again! And every now and then, she goes and visits Laika, who she'll always care for as well!

prompt: scissors is against.. posers!? as you may guess, scissors is a very very pretentious scene kid. they will do their best to gatekeep the scene community, and they never share where she shops, her music taste, etc. outside of her myspace account. scissors often goes out of her way to block anyone she deems as a "poser" and has gotten herself into drama because of this. before she blocks someone, she'll publicly humiliate them either on their profile or on her own. scissors has a huge ego and her orbiters & friends continuously fuel it, as she has a decently sized following on myspace. no matter what people may negatively say about her, she'll ignore them and just see them as an annoyance.

scissors' reason for hating posers is, well, because she wants to feel special. scissors wants to be the most unique 'mon out there, they'll even get annoyed when people say "i wanna be just like you", although she still appreciates that ego boost. another reason as to why scissors hates posers is that she hates how people "pretend to like things that they really don't". she'll often say "you're not scene if you don't like____" and any trend surrounding the scene community drives her nuts. she hates when people go from a "basic" person to a scenekid within days. despite this, she's definitely crushing on someone that she'd deem as basic

her views of others is incredibly warped, and she's quick to judge. to scissors, you're basic, a poser, or a scenekid like her. and if you're not a scenekid, she'll probably block you. and yes, she practically lives online. she really just needs a good therapy sesh, and a friend to help her be a better person. the crowd she's in definitely affected her personality and how she views others, though she sees no problems with how she acts.

Whoever had invented the concept of getting up early in the morning ought to be punished, Marco decided. He forced himself to take another step, his body still heavy with sleep as he hauled himself up the rock face. As he did so, he frowned at Raleigh’s retreating back. He’d thought, upon arriving at the guild, that the stoic Zoroark might be a kindred spirit- her aesthetic seemed to almost match his own, after all. Oh, how wrong he’d been. His assigned partner for today’s errand was climbing nimbly up the rocks in front of him, perfectly spry and awake.

“Wait for me,” he gasped raggedly. Arceus, he wanted to go back to bed.

Raleigh paused, sitting on a ledge to wait for him as he clambered up to her. She didn’t say a word- but then, that was normal- and merely watched him in silence, with- wait a second, was that a twinkle of amusement in her eyes? Sympathy? Pity? Marco scowled. How dare she.

“I’m not weak,” he tried to defend himself, his own ragged gasping decidedly not helping his case. “Or- I’m not usually this out of shape. I’m just tired.”

Raleigh said nothing, but tilted her head at him. There was a definite crease at the corner of her eyes, as though she was smiling under her mask, and oh, that only made Marco even more indignant.

“Really,” he said. “I’m fine. Take an afternoon mission with me sometime, and you’ll see.”

“I can carry you, if you’d like,” Raleigh said placidly, startling him.

“No!” Yelped Marco, feeling hot with embarrassment under his fur. “I told you. I just hate mornings. I’ll get over it.”

Raleigh shrugged. “Suit yourself. The offer is always open.” She waited for him to clamber up the last spur of rock, and then started on her own way again. Marco lay sprawled out on the rocks, gasping for breath, and couldn’t help but notice the pleasant way in which the sunrise was warming the rocks.

Sunrise. Who gets up at sunrise?

Acantha is against, well... Everything. People, pokemon, the world, and even herself. She is what many would consider a 'devil's advocate'. She sees the side you are picking, and strongly stands on the other side. The sky is blue? No sweetie, the sky is azure. There are few topics that she will not correct another on.

She is rather unsure of her own knowledge and opinions, so she covers it up with a contrarian façade. When proven wrong she has a tendency to back pedal, or even outright say that you have misunderstood what she was saying. Very few people have actually been close enough to her to hear her agree with another person or pokemon. Though, those who have seen the more relaxed side of Acantha can tell you that she really isn’t all bad, and can be fun to be around when a debate isn’t involved! If you were to ask her acquaintances, however, they would tell you she is snarky, stubborn, and perhaps even a little infuriating.

Her friends have been working together with her a bit to help her realize she doesn’t have to correct others to be seen as smart, she just has to be willing to learn and understand others. This has had... varying levels of success.
