The Kynoissse believe that once they lived in the waters, when the world was new and warm. One day the sky grew jealous of the water keeping the Kynoissse for themself so it blew cold wind and chilled the waters and forcing the Kynoissse out onto land where the sky could see them. But the land was cold too, so the Kynoissse took the fur from the beasts of the land and wore them. This hid them from the sky once more, who became angry and caused the fur to become part of the Kynoissse, The sky sent a wind to scatter the Kynoissse into packs all across the land.
