He never wanted to hurt... anyone. A promise he'd made so long ago that it seemed as if it was just a lonely echo of his past, he never wanted to break it. ever. Not if everything had gone wrong, not if he was forced too, he'd never raise a claw against a cat.

But he did.

The control had slipped, the anger had seeped through, only the darkness was left... and his realization had only flickered back the second he'd done it, the second he'd broke that promise.

It wasn't to protect nor to defend, it was the inexplainable rage that had taken over, all it took was anger to break that promise, he never wanted that. It was just an accident, an accident that could've been prevented.

And he'd never forgive himself for that, so instead of the pure claws he'd once worn, the pure color was now painted with... black. Black cracks now traced on his claw, reminding him of a promise broken.

He'd never forgive himself for breaking a promise, but maybe others would... but it was best if they didn't know, so for the time being, he'd pretend there was nothing wrong.
