Percherons are a breed of draft horse that originated in the Huisne river valley in western France, most commonly seen in a black or grey color. They are well muscled, and known for their intelligence and willingness to work, as well as being generally peaceful creatures that are lovable and easy to train. They're seen between 15 and 19 hands high, and 1,900 to 2,600 pounds. Percherons were originally bred for use as war horses, but over time, they began to be used for pulling stagecoaches and later for agriculture and hauling heavy goods. They have been crossed with several light horse breeds, such as Arabians, to produce horses for range work and competition, but are still used for forestry work and pulling carriages.

Sleepy Hollow Percherons originates from the northern midwest United States, home to many varieties of horse from many different backgrounds of work; working as police mounts in Australia to forestry and farm work in Great Britain, parades, sleigh rides and hayrides around the world, and competing in various classes such as dressage and classic cart. Sleepy Hollow Percherons can very commonly seen in equine therapy and beginner riding lessons as well due to their gentle, relaxed behavior.

i. All CS rules apply within the on-site community and Discord server.

ii. Off-site storage pages on weebly and Toyhouse are allowed, but you must have a link back to the original
species on CS. In order to breed your SH Percherons, you must have all the necessary information listed for each horse
(genetics and phenotype, breeding slots, etc.) in order to complete an accurate and fair breeding.

iii. Sleepy Hollow Percherons are a closed species, meaning only authorized artists are allowed to create, edit, and
breed adopts. If posted off-site, you must link any SH Percheron adopt back to their original CS page.

iv. Should a member decide to sell or trade their SH Percheron with another member within the community,
both users must post on the original adoption page showing consent to the sale or trade. Along with this, the seller or
gifter of the Percheron must post on the Transfer Archive using the appropriate form.
Posts can look like this:

Seller: "Selling [adopt name] to [Buyer]."
Buyer: "Claiming! [new name]"

Changing a newly acquired adopt's name is not required,
but must be recorded on the original Percheron's page in order to maintain an organized archive
and to avoid future confusion of ownership.

v. Artists are allowed one personal custom SH Percheron per month, with a 5-day grace period both before
and after the turn of the month.

vi. Large, organic edits such as wings, reptilian/aquatic or lengthy mammal tails (bovine tails are okay),
body alterations such as sway backs, and dish faces are prohibited. Exaggerated Roman noses may show up in adopts and
customs but need to be approved by sleepyDandy beforehand.

Small organic edits are perfectly acceptable. Examples of these can include:
unicorn horns, bovine or goat horns, antlers, cloven hooves, and mane/tail edits.

Items such as custom halters, halter charms, tack such as saddles, saddle blankets, harnesses,
and reins, jewelry, flowers, or small companions are also permitted.
Any edits legal within the SH Percheron species are charged for by artists through custom orders.

vii. Chimera is not allowed to be ordered through customs.

viii. Please only request when an artist has opened slots. You are not limited when ordering imports,
but keep others in mind when slots open.

ix. Forms must be PM’d to the artist directly; please be sure to use the form they request!

x. Begging, bribing, or guilting artists into opening slots or accepting their form at any time is not permitted.
If this is found to be occurring, the responsible parties will be given an immediate import ban. If it continues, or other
harassment occurs, they will be banned from the species and Discord entirely.

xi. All custom Percherons must be recorded via Discord upon accepting a request. Only artists have permission to do this.

xii. Any member of the Sleepy Hollow Percheron staff team may make their own custom Percheron, but can only do so once per month.
Artists are highly encouraged to order customs from other staff members should they want one outside of their monthly limit.
There is a 5-day grace period before and after the month starts and ends, but extensions can be given should they contact sleepyDandy.

Breeding Artists are prohibited from creating custom SH Percherons for any member other than themselves.
