Chimkin Name: Coral
Prompt:
Coral glared intensely at the strange dirt that had appeared in coop. It had spilled out of a worn out bag the day prior. It was new, different, and odd; but most importantly (and horrifyingly), it had gotten everywhere. The bag itself was now empty.
With each footstep she took the ground shifted and moulded around her. That horrible gritty substance would crawl between her toes as she sunk into it. It felt itchy and irritating. At one point she had sat down, which was a big mistake. The dirt had clung to her body. Much to her horror the evil stuff had even managed to cover her once perfectly clean tail. Coral shook and ruffled her feathers but to no avail- whatever the thing was it was stuck to her. No matter how much she managed to shake off there always seemed to be more, as though it was popping into existence out of nowhere.
Coral couldn’t stand the attack anymore. Whatever this was, she wanted it away from her. She screeched as loud as she could. A tired looking human appeared shortly after her outburst, mumbling something she couldn’t understand. Humans made such funny noises, such as “sandbag” and “how’d that get in the coop” and “darn sand gotten everywhere” (the latter of which was said with an angry tone, which made Coral wonder what the sounds meant. Perhaps the human also didn’t like the strange dirt.)
The next day (most) of the odd dirt had disappeared. Whatever the human had done had worked, and the coop was back to normal. She chirped happily. Now she just had to get the stuff out of her feathers.
