this morning i woke by the suns rays
the trees and birds lent me their gaze
the sun was shining all over the sky
the snow is melting and now I know why

the birds sing their songs and the woods come to life
the wilderness is free from old winter's strife
the flowers are returning in all of their beauty
the geese returning and their attitudes snooty

i prepare myself for a spring so joyful
and prepare for the new life, ever so youthful
to winter I do daresay, good riddance with you
and it's time to make room for the early spring dew
