Fact: Dwarf galaxies are small galaxies with low mass and low luminosity. Galaxies of this type are the most common in the Local Group. Usually, these dwarf galaxies act as satellites to the bigger ones.
Galaxies that are intermediate between ellipticals and spirals are called lenticular galaxies. They look like “lenses” and have rotating disks of stars without spiral arms.

Fact: Andromeda, the closest neighboring galaxy to us, and our own Milky Way are interfering with each other and predicted to collide! It's guessed that the two will become 1 huge super-galaxy. This has already begun happening; but it won't finish within the human timeline at all. Even evolutionary lines on Earth that are casted out across time won't see the finished product of the combination because the sun will die and expand, making Earth too hot to be inhabitable. It'll take about 5 billion years for the process to finish, far too long for our solar system to see it.

Fact: There are 4 main types of galaxies that we know of so far. The first one is the spiral galaxy that can be spotted by it's wide, flat, disk along with it's gassy and dusty feel (x). The second galaxy is the elliptical galaxy the reason for their name was because of oblong shape and lack of overall structure (x). The third galaxy is the peculiar galaxy which is a galaxy that happens when is collides with other galaxies to the the open space (x). Lastly is the irregular galaxy that fell under known of the other three main types, it's considered the dwarf galaxy and so it lacks shape (x). ©
