Thunder, lightning, the pouring of rain.

Waterstrider trudged through the muddy earth, trying to make it to a safe place to rest.

But in an instant, thunder boomed in it's ear and the entire world flashed white, and-

When it awoke, it was not the same.

It's normal nature, quiet but thoughtful, devoted and true, had crumpled to a mess.

When it was finally found by a patrol, they asked it what had happened.

It simply stared up at them with vacant eyes, and shook it's head.

And it's mind was never quiet again.
