Ahem...

The clan I was born in is an old one - some would say older than the mountains that cradle the forest they call home.
Dreadfully strange place, that forest. Trees as black as ash, some with strange, glowing eye-like sigils. They say if ya listen closely to the wind there you can hear the voices of our ancestors whispering the secrets of the universe. Yer not s'posed to listen to 'em, though, or else you hear things you ain't s'posed to know. Stuff like that drives ya mad.
That's where he lives, ya see. Strange woods give birth to strange entities... No one knows for sure what he is.
The clan has worshipped him like a God for as long as anyone can remember - generations upon generations.
We didn' know where he came from or why. But the elders way back before my grandpappy was even born decided that he would protect us if we revered him. And no one really questioned it at first. But there were rumblin's around town that he was evil and no good would come from drawin' attention to him.
Some cats ran into him in the woods more than once, said he was pure evil and that he'd end everything we know.
I saw him me'self once, dontcha know. Strange beast... shaped almost like a man, but a cat... walks upright like a man, too. Has the most haunting eyes I ever did see... perfectly round, glowing bright like fire. Casts beams of light ahead of him like flashlights...
I didn't stick around to find out what he was after... tripped into a rosebush on my way out of the area, HAHAHA!"
