Prompt:
Named after Dave Grohl. Him and his band 'Foo Fighters' have a song called my hero, which fits the prompt. However, Dave Grohl is my number one idol. He's been through so much in his life, and a very close friend of his [the drummer for Foo Fighters] recently passed. It was my dream to meet the band, but unfortunately, a member was lost. I wish there was a way I could truly pay the respects that he deserved.
Dave Grohl is an amazing musician, and has inspired me to start pursuing music. He's such an amazing soul, and has really been a great person for all of his years. He's probably the celebrity that I respect the most. He signs autographs only for charity, treats his friends and band members like family, and is a ray of sunshine wherever he goes. It's an honor to be able to listen to his music, as I'm sure some songs tell a story.

show: taken from a quotes referencing jamie lee curtis being a the scream queen from just how much horror movies she has been in and survived, something which is rare to do in horror movies. - curtis is such a good actress in all the movies she's been in and deserves all the success she has received in life.
kennel: named after sidney prescott from the scream series. I idolise this character because even if she's put through a hard situation, fictional or not, she has succeeded in outlasting and killing all iterations of the ghostface killer that has pursued her. although it is a trope in most horror films, I think sidney actually proves her strength. she isn't portrayed as a ditsy girl that outlives the killer by dumb luck but actually works directly against the killer, often with the help of her old friends brother (former) deputy dewey riley.

I named this pup after these two strong women/characters because while they may not exclusively be 'heroes' per se, but they are an inspiration to many young teenagers or, (if you're father was like mine), an old child when you were allowed to watch any of the films these women were in. they show girls and teenagers don't need to be 'little Disney princesses' they otherwise would have been told from a younger age, but they also are strong and independent and can survive anything life may throw at them. they made me more confident and I admire these women and how they overcame their problems (even if they were fictional serial killers, haha, the effect is the same).

Prompt: As cheesy as it may be, a hero of mine is Robert Downey Junior, Iron Man if you will. I grew up watching Marvel movies, along with Star Wars and Star Trek... but Marvel is the franchise that has wove itself into every fiber of my being. Something about seeing a human go through something traumatic... scary, and then come out fighting and determined to protect others has resonated with me for years. Not only is RDJ my hero for being such a vital character to the Marvel franchise and inspiring me as a wee kid to do something better with my life... he's also my hero because he himself has been through a lot. Marvel believed in him and gave him a shot, a REALLY big shot to redeem himself and do something life changing, not only for himself and his family... but for millions of people around the world. I'm always reflecting back on why I enlisted in the Navy, and there's not one single reason. So many things have contributed to me serving, and funny enough- RDJ is one reason. Is he a reason solely because he played Iron Man?? Nope. I can't even fully explain it, but it feels so right to say that Robert as a person has impacted my life.

I'll forever be thankful for RDJ being in my life, even if he doesn't know that he's been a part of it. <3

Name Meaning: My fondness for Achilles stems from the novel The Song Of Achilles, which I have yet to finish (afraid of the ending), and have been deeply impacted by. Achilles is one of the most well-known Greek heroes, though his suffering is less known. Achilles is known for fighting in the Trojan War, where he was subjected to an incredible amount of pain and rage. After all, he was torn in two over an impossible decision casted upon him by the gods - whether he wished to die young and with glory, or live long without glory. He was at war with himself and his pride, which overwhelmed his capacity for reasoning. He believed that a life without glory was worthless and worse than death, but he also didn't want to die. He then lost his "best friend" (anyone who's read The Song Of Achilles knows better) Patroclus and it shattered his psyche. Achilles, in his blind rage, went on to kill as many men as possible before he was finally killed by a Trojan soldier. Achilles, like many of the heroes, deities, and legends borne of Greek mythology were destined to suffer from the moment their names reached the gods' ears.
