Season: Goose loves spring for several reasons! Prime among them is the melting snow; once the snowpack has gone, all of the hidden rodent tracks are revealed for smelling and tracking across the muddy ground. No snow means no dog booties, too, but it does mean that she has to wait and get her feet cleaned when coming in the house. Goose’s favorite thing about the springtime, though, is the change in the winds; she loves to stand and sniff into the wet spring wind, sampling the myriad signs of life returning.

While many may enjoy spring from the blooming flowers peeking their head from the Earth, the increasing light hours, or the promise of summer just around the corner. Rayne enveloped herself in the rich smell of rain, lifting an earthly smell into the atmosphere. The cold smell of winter snow had melted away and was replaced with the warm rain. Rayne liked the sounds tapping the roof of the house, as she dozed to sleep at night. A soporific noise that lulled her to sleep at night. There was no need for a raincoat, the warm spring rain felt nice on her fur. Anytime there is a rainstorm, you can be sure Rayne is out in it.

Season: Bolton isn’t particularly fond of many things, however if there is one he can appreciate, it’s the nearly intoxicating scent of freshly cut grass in the spring. The first time the fields at the kennel are mowed after a spring rain, and the air fills with the promise that winter is over and life can resume again. The smell marks the season when all the livestock on the farm will need to be worked and sports will begin again.

Season: Badger has a seriously acute sense of smell, ever since he was just a puppy he's been able to smell things and pick up on scents that other animals couldn't. For the most part it was a blessing, though other times it could be a curse, he smelled everything from peach cobbler that Sam made for dessert to the stinky trash cans down on the beach below the cliffs, and when he first smelled those cans the scent was so strong it made him scrunch his entire face up. In the springtime, it's just cool enough that most tourists don't swing by the beach as often, and less tourists mean less stinky garbage bins, and less stinky smells means that Badger can enjoy his walks without making that face. Recently, however, Badger has discovered something that might just be his absolute favorite smell in the whole wide world: Honey. He knows he can't eat it, but that doesn't mean he can't sniff at it! The ranchers banded together to spruce up the gardens with pollinator attracting flowers to help the populations around Polar North, and the result has been so many decadent smelling hives surrounding the woods, and Badger has been sniffing the air with joy every morning, savoring the sweet smell of honey.

Aviva was a spring baby every since she was born. She loved listen to birds chirping throughout the day, flowers blooming and fragrant, the grass ever so green. During winter she is constantly checking the flowers waiting for them to bloom once again and waiting for the trees to regain the colour leaves. Most days Aviva would spend hours outside enjoying the fresh air and watch the animals return to their habits or rolling around in the new grass happy springs returned. She also knows when spring returns so does her favorite treat, strawberries.

Season: hatter likes many things about spring. the main reason is that the weather finally starts to change for the better.
rather than snow, the sun decides to bless the land with a mild heat and, given hatters predominantly black coat, this fits
her just fine (she's also not too fond of snow getting stuck in between her pawpaws). another reason hatter likes the spring
is because this is when she can finally play with her new baby ducky friends, something she has waited all winter and fall
for and she can't wait to make tons of new baby animal friends. the third and final reason that hatter loves spring, is the
fact that she can roll in freshly cut grass (and get her white belt all green hehehe) and sniff all the new flowers that are
making themselves know from under the thawing frost.

spring is the season most associated with joy and hope, the world waking up again after the long rest of winter. there are many things that kit finds enjoyable about the season, from the lengthening daylight and new flowers to sniff through. but kit's very favourite thing - is that it's 'kitten season.' the humans of solas kennels work actively in cat rescue all throughout the year, but from about march until autumn begins to creep back around, there's a huge influx of kittens. while it's often a stressful and sometimes sad time, kit usually doesn't dwell on that (though she can be found on occasion sitting at the burial spot for the ones that don't make it), and instead looks forward to playing foster mama to as many kittens as she possibly can: snuggling them, grooming them, overseeing the humans as they do feedings, and later gently playing and keeping them out of mischief; and also giving any mama cats that may be with them a break. she rather enjoys herding kittens. when there's multiple litters of small kittens in the house, not just the odd singleton or orphan that comes through in the off season, is when spring really begins for kit.

Season: April's favorite thing about spring has to be Easter! Yes, she looks forward to smelling the blooming flowers and listening to the critters running around once more... but nothing compares to Easter morning! Ever since she was a pup, April made it a tradition to wake up with her family and help the kids find bright, colorful, candy filled eggs. She'd do anything to make them happy, even if that meant doing some work for them. Besides, she always loves a good challenge! Every now and then April imagines she's in the K9 unit for her home town, sniffing her way to lost persons so they can be rescued! However, in this case... she's just finding goodies for the kids. <33
