    Cat Name: Violetsplash
    Cat Gender: male
    Platypus Name: Charlotte
    Platypus Gender: female
    Rank: senior warrior
    Clan: Shoreclan
    Age: 49 moons

Violetsplash has lost his memories. He doesn't remember what happened to him before Shoreclan or even how he found these cats who live on the beach. Sometimes he'll even lose memories during the day, just simple things like where he was walking to or names of cats who are approaching him. Violetsplash still gets irritated by these small things and wishes he could remember everything.

Unfortunately, he doesn't even remember how he came across Charlotte. He's lucky that he remembers her name and that she's so loyal to him. In a way, she's been helping to comfort him and calm him down when he gets particularly angry.

When he first found Shoreclan, it took a lot of convincing to Shellstar and Stormswirl to allow him to join. At first, Violetsplash was deemed the rank of a warrior. After 3 moons, the other warriors commended his skill and recommended that he be promoted to a senior warrior. Since then, he's been trying to maintain his rank and make the other cats -- especially newcomers -- proud of him.

He's been working hard to regain his memories. Sometimes it stressed his brain and exhausts his body, but he's determined to remember everything that's happened. Cloverflame, the medicine cat, has been helping him. Although, there are times where he tells him, "You just need time, lad." The words are supposed to be meaningful and encouraging, but Violetsplash just takes it as a challenge to work harder.

The battered and weary tom has been taking herbs given to him by Cloverflame. He's also been meditating by the ocean or by the stream in the forest, given that the "white noise" is supposed to settle his thoughts. Cloverflame is adamant that the memories will simply come back to him.

However, the actions that help him recover the most memories are hunting and fighting. When he's crouched and about to pounce onto a mouse, Violetsplash suddenly remembers when he did that moons ago before he joined the clan. When he's on his hind paws and taking swipes while practicing battle moves with younger warriors, he sees flashes of unrecognizable pelts trying to tear him apart. Cloverflame believes that the reason his memories are dissipating is that he's gone through a lot of trauma and the brain is trying to protect him.

His quest isn't over yet. In fact, it may even be a life-long journey.

Cat Name: Captain Elias, of the Deep Blue (Elias of the Deep Blue/Elias)
Platypus name: Finnick
Gender: Male
Platypus Gender: Male
Rank: Crew
Clan: The Grimwood Galleon
Age: Presumed to be at least 100 moons old, true age unknown (adult)
Prompt:
For as long as he had existed, Elias had lived his life on the sea.

Born upon the ship of Deep Blue, his coloration had been seen as an omen of good luck by the captain steering the ship. This gave him the virtue of being the captain’s companion, and he was granted the title amongst the meager amount of cats upon the ship as “Captain Elias, of the Deep Blue”.

The hustle of the crew on the ship and the sound of the waves hitting the sides of the vessel rang upon Elias’ ears, although he did not move from where he was settled. Not unless his captain said as much. This was normal fare, the ship bustling with activity as they trawled across the ocean blue, and he would not trade it for anything.

Today, however, was a little different.

The clatter of swords cut through the air as the opposing ship’s crew jumped aboard, and Elias had scrambled to find somewhere to hide. Despite his status as the captain of the ship, he prided himself on letting the human crew do most of the combat, and he felt it was more of a risk to put himself in danger. The rest of the ship cats knew this, and he felt they understood - he was too valuable to the ship to put himself in danger recklessly.
Before he could get to safety, however, a pair of hands took hold of his body and he let out a loud snarl. Despite writhing and swiping in an attempt to get free from his unknown captor, he was whisked away from the ship as the stranger barked at his companion crew to leave the ship. He watched as the new ship pulled away, and a final loud blast emitted from somewhere nearby - and the old ship began to sink below the depths, down to its namesake.

His first ship was a pirate life.
His second was on a smuggler’s ship.

The boat pulled to a stop in the port of a town he’d not seen before, and Elias watched with half-lidded eyes as several crew descended down the walkway to the main deck on land. He never really could catch what it is the crew was collecting whenever they made it to shore, as they talked in hushed tones and fast whispers. Usually he saw them bringing heavy crates, and could catch a glint of something shiny poking out of a small crack or hole in the various boxes. He knew better than to try to see if he could pry into it further.
The crew returned on deck almost as quickly as they had left, and one of them seemed particularly antsy. Elias watched them with a quirked brow as one brought a crate over, and the antsy man shoved something into it. The cat’s ears perked as he heard something make a noise from within the crate, and as soon as he was sure nobody could see him, he crept over to get a closer look.
A bizarre animal he had never seen before, and then a second, looked back at him, and he blinked in shock. What was this thing? Looking over his shoulders to see if anyone was watching him, he leaned down and scooped up the smaller of the two from the crate and scrambled back to a darker corner of the ship before he set it back down.
“Aye, are ye alright?” His tone was quiet, although the animal didn’t seem to understand him. Elias breathed a sigh as he received no response. “Ye seem to be breathin’, so I’m guessin’ you’re feeling okay.”
He stared at the small animal for a moment as he mulled over his thoughts. He knew what would happen at the next port - these animals would be sold off, just like the other things they smuggled, and he had theories about what would happen.
So he supposed he would do as he’d seen before, and steal from his own crew.

At the next port, he bundled the animal into his fur on his back, and he made a break for it off the walkway. It wasn’t like he got away unnoticed, of course, but he was much faster than they were, and he slipped away into an alleyway a ways into town. His gaze focused on the entrance of the alley, ensuring that he wouldn’t be followed, before he shifted to set the animal down.
“Alright. We’re gonna find a new ship, and we’ll be right as rain.” He looked to the small animal, pausing for a moment. “Well, I gotta call ‘ye something, since ‘animal’ feels a bit too mean..”
The other sniffed at him for a moment before it settled back down, intently focused on Elias.
“Finnick. Eh, how’s that sound to ye?” He asked, and the small animal made a noise in response. The cat took this as confirmation, and he carefully scooped Finnick back up and settled him onto his back. “Then off we go. We got a new crew to find.”

And find a new crew they did; taking residence on a ship known as the Odyssey, Elias rejoiced in living a life on the seas again. Finnick was his companion, and the two partook in the many journeys the ship crew traversed.
The ship hit something, and Elias could hear a call coming from the forefront of the deck. A familiar call.
This was a call to battle.
The tabby sprung forward, not wanting to seem like dead weight this time, and he peeled through the throng of human crew to get an idea of what he was dealing with.
As he was surveying the chaos, something slammed into his side, and he hit the ground with a loud thud. Standing over him was a mostly white calico adorned with a gold chain.
“You don’t seem like you’ve ever fought before.” She snarled, raising a paw. “This’ll be easy.”
Reacting quickly, Elias swiped a paw to catch her on the face, and she recoiled. This gave him the time to scramble to his feet, giving a snarl in return. “Don’t be foolish, now. They don’t call me captain for no reason.”
The other cat seemed to become enraged at his taunting, and she sprung forward. Instead of tackling him, however, she swung her paw as hard as she could across the left side of his face. It connected with his ear and went down to his shoulder, and he let out a loud roar. She sprung back, seemingly satisfied, and she spat at him.
“Don’t forget who you’re messing with. You’ll see the Grimwood Galleon again, and you’ll remember the face of its captain, Siren’s Gale.”
She slunk away, and he collapsed on the deck before he passed out.

News did not travel fast on the open waters, although it did travel.
It was several months since the attack from the Galleon, and Elias had recovered well from his injuries. There was no way to save the eye or the ear, although he didn’t mind. He was alive, at the least. He knew one thing, however, and it was that Siren’s Gale would not get away unscathed the next time he saw her.
Fate seemed to work against him, though, as his crew caught wind that the Galleon had gone down on an unknown island in the middle of a rough patch of sea. No survivors were noted, and Elias had dug his claws into the baseboards of the ship. An accident had gotten to her before he could, and that made him angry. He’d wanted to flay her first.
The captain of the crew worked hard to get the last known coordinates of the Galleon, and they had tracked down the island that they shipwrecked on. Elias watched as they pulled up to shore, and for a moment he thought he saw someone staring at him from the treeline from the island.
A sense of intrigue washed over him, and he motioned for Finnick to follow him off the boat. The platypus obliged, and the two touched down on the sandy shore. It’d been so long since he’d touched sand, he thought.
Elias began to make his way into the line of trees, wanting to see the figure that seemed to stare right through him. Everywhere he turned, it seemed to be in the corner of his eye, and he picked up the pace. He had no luck, and that drove him nuts.
The last time the figure showed up, it was to taunt him, as it was paired with the sight of their ship leaving the island. He snarled as he clawed at the sand, wanting to lash out at the figure he’d been chasing. He’d been running after an illusion, and now he was stuck!
Swallowing his pride, he began to look for somewhere to rest for the time being, following the shoreline. He could hear a group of cats ahead of him, and he picked up the pace, wondering if they were in the same predicament he was.
As he caught sight of a shape in the distance, he began to notice a handful of cats, and he slowed down as he began to realize what he’d run into.
He’d found the remnants of the Grimwood Galleon, crashed onto the shore.
And sitting neatly in front of them was her.
“Siren’s Gale.”
She spotted him, and she smiled widely, her expression knowing.
“It’s been a long time.”

Cat Name: Miko
Platypus name: Kagura
Gender: Female
Platypus Gender: Female
Rank: Medicine Cat
Clan: Lissidom
Age: 200 moons
Prompt: Exactly 200 moons ago, a desperately fleeing queen escaped the woods, pursuers hot on her tail. Right as they were about to reach her, she collapsed upon the steps of a old, twoleg shrine. As she went into labor, a magical barrier sprung up around the shrine and repelled her pursuers away, flinging them high into the air far away, killing them. In this period of safety, she gave birth to two kits, one living, and one stillborn.

Due to her innate fear of twolegs, despite her gratitude for the miracle that had saved her, as soon as she rested enough to walk, she picked up her living kit by the scruff and slipped away.

The twolegs -shrine maidens- later discovered the dead kit's body, and placed it in a coffin to be buried. As they conducted the burial ceremony, sprinkling the holy water and ringing the holy bells, another miracle occured.

The dead kitten, miraculously, came back to life. A perfectly healthy kit, with stars in her eyes, and a deep spirituality about her. The shrine maidens were delighted, and raised her in the shrine. They gave her the name Miko, and bestowed upon her two holy bells, tied to her neck and tail with ribbons the color of her eyes.

And so, young Miko grew up, soaking in the holiness of the land and immersing herself in the shrine life. She learned her to ring her bells in a pleasing tune, in a way that would aid and complement the songs the shrine maidens created in their ceremonies. Her spiritual connection with nature also enhanced the effect the songs had on their surroundings, as well.

She learned the art of healing, training to recognize the herbs and the illnesses they corresponded to. Under the guidance of the experienced shrine maidens, she grew to be an outstanding, famous medicine cat.

At 18 moons, she was an adult, and was to set off on her maiden voyage. She was to travel around the world, using her knowledge to help those in need, and broaden her horizons. She also wished to meet some of her fellow cats, as there hadn't been any other cats in the shrine as she grew up.

Word spread quickly of the shrine cat Miko. She was welcomed by twolegs and cats alike, as she cured illnesses wherever she went. Over the next 12 moons, she met hundreds of different individuals, hearing all of their stories, grievances, and joys.

One day, her travels took her to Lissidom, a small clan in the deep woods. A one-week-old kit there had been very sick, and it seemed that it had been the result of a rare curse inflicted on him, soon after birth. Black veins would protrude from half his face, and most of his fur had fallen out in patches. He was constantly in extreme pain, and he hadn't even been given a name yet, due to the immense uncertainty of his future. When the clan leader heard that the legendary healer Miko was nearby, she immediately went to beg for her help.

Miko arrived at Lissidom, and inspected the kit's condition. It was indeed a curse, caused by a strong demon. Though she didn't know who it was, she had seen this before in one of the books at the shrine. All those afflicted with it would die within a year, if untreated. In order to cure them, she would need to perform a cleansing ceremony with a mystical herb, the plumveria. This would likely require her to go through dangerous trials, but her principles wouldn't allow her to abandon anyone in need, so after leaving a few herbs to temporarily stabilize the kit's condition, she set off to find the plumveria.

The plumveria was said to grow in the heart of an enchanted lake, and could only be found by those with a strong connection to nature. Miko trusted deeply in fate, and though she did not know where this lake could be, she believed that nature would guide her to it. Indeed, it did.

In her wanderings, she came across a giant bear who attacked her. Its fur gleamed with a sparkling white shine, rippling in the wind as it swiped a giant paw at her. Miko had been frozen in place, having never been attacked like this before. The bear's claws swiped her squarely across her left eye, blinding half her vision as blood poured down like a river.

The great pain brought her back to her senses. She had to move. She clawed through the pain and, unbidden, a hidden fighting force she didn't know she had, likely brought out due to survival instinct, made its appearance. After a harrowing battle, the bear's body collapsed to the ground. Miko, laden with heavy injuries, collapsed as well. Before her eyes, however, the bear, with its sparkling white fur and blue eyes, transformed into a sparkling blue lake. On an island in the middle of the lake sat a strange creature, one she knew to be a platypus from the shrine's books, but one she had never met before.

The platypus introduced herself as Kagura, and told her that she had been born exactly 25 moons ago, at the same time as Miko herself. She said that she was Miko's fated companion, and that she would accompany Miko, henceforth.

Miko was astonished, and even wondered if perhaps, she was just hallucinating due to the pain. But then the platypus- no, Kagura, swam up to her and dripped the lake water onto her injuries. Miko's eyes widened as she watched her injuries all heal completely- save for her left eye, which bore a large scar. Kagura informed her that this scar would serve as a reminder of her fated encounter with the lake, which would be closed off forever soon, before giving her the plumveria that had grown in the lake.

Miko accepted it, still in a bit of a daze. The near-death encounter with the bear and the lake water healing her injuries were playing through her mind in a never-ending loop. As soon as she gained enough clarity to speak, she asked the first thing that came to mind- would she be able to take back some of the lake water to heal others?

Kagura shook her head, and said that unfortunately, the lake could only heal her and Miko, because they were fated. Soon, it'd disappear, as it had finished its duty in protecting Kagura until she met Miko.

Miko could only nod.

The pair slowly made their way back to Lissidom, and on their journey, they got to know each other. They talked of their childhood, their experiences, their favorite things. Kagura was born with an innate knowledge of how to use her spiritual powers, and she too, was an orphan. Rather than being 'born,' however, she was more 'created' by the lake, which had nurtured her like a mother. Kagura liked swimming in the lake and eating fruits the most. Miko told Kagura about the shrine maidens who raised her, and Kagura got to play with Miko's bells. By the time they arrived at Lissidom, the two had already created an inseparable bond, as if they had known each other for centuries.

Miko performed the cleansing ceremony for the kit, with Kagura supporting her on the side. The protruding black veins shrunk back and disappeared, and healthy fur started to grow in on the bald spots. The kit was healed. His joyful mew, the first in his whole life, was deafening. His grateful mother asked Miko to name him.

She named him Maurus, and gifted him a collar with a fish pendant that she had gotten from one of the twolegs in her travels. Throughout all her journeys, this was the first time she had ever named a kit, and she felt a connection with this kit.

The other clan members of Lissidom asked her to stay, but she refused, saying that she needed to continue on her journeys. However, she promised to come back and visit. She continued to travel with Kagura for the next 170 moons, visiting the shrine maidens, past acquaintances, and Lissidom occasionally.

One day, she was suddenly struck with an inclination to settle down. The first place that came to mind was Lissidom, with the kit Maurus that she had visited every once in a while. When she went back to Lissidom, she found that Maurus- who was already an adult the last time she visited- had already passed of old age. Another kit in the clan had been named Maurus, both after him, and in honor of Miko. The kit, who had been born on the day of Maurus's death 16 moons ago, was already a strapping young cat who wore the fish pendant collar around his neck as a symbol of honor.

Miko took him under her wing, and although Maurus was a warrior, he learned some of the basic arts of the medicine cat. It's been 4 moons since Miko settled into Lissidom as a medicine cat, and she and Kagura are living a peaceful life.
