- Written from Artemis's POV -
I am a hunter. I provide food and pelts to the colony and I keep predators out of the village. The scars I adore is a constant reminder of a harrowing battle in which almost cost me my life.
- FLASHBACK -
It was a cold and foggy morning. Not a creature was stirring as I wandered through the thick oak forests. One by one I checked the traps I laid out the night before and so far they yeilded nothing. Deciding to have a rest I laid under the thick branches of a sturdy oak tree and to keep my energy up I chewed on some beef jerky. Whilst eating, I noticed some large paw prints unlike I've every seen before. The hunter in me grew excited at this find and I started tracking these unknown prints. These tracks led me through dense scrub, icy cold rivers and thorny shrubs until the stopped at a cave entrance. Standing still, I strained my ears trying to pick up any sound. Thinking it was a dead end I turned around to go back home, only to see a large towering creature stand in front of me. 'Is this what they call a 'bear'. I thought to myself. Without warning the bear swiped and knocked me into a tree. Hitting the tree hard winded me and my hunting gear and satchel flew outta my reach. Trying to regain my breath the bear charged and I barely rolled out its attack. The bear swiped again but this time I felt a searing pain course through my body. Looking down I saw a crimson waterfall flowing from my left shoulder. Unsure on how to tackle this beast I limped to the nearest tree and painfully clawed my way up seeking shelter in the high branches. Looking down I watched as the beast looked at me, rage in its eyes and foam seeping from its mouth. Using some of the leaves I crafted a make shift bandage. After what felt like an eternity the bear eventually left and I scrambled down the tree. Limping I picked my gear and started the painfully trek home. Upon arriving home, I got checked out by the medic and given the all clear. 'The bear hasn' bested me yet and we shall battle once again' I thought as I lay resting my sore and tired body.(395 words)

prompt: Cliff has always been a bit of a daredevil. He has a passionate love for all thing thrilling and exciting, which oftentimes leads to him getting into risky or sometime dangerous situations. From sneaking around bear caves to walking along ravines, he will accept any challenge thrown at him. His colony at first was very fearful for his safety, and upset with his lack of concern, but after living so long on the edge, and escaping death and harm so often, his friends and family have relaxed, and now (sometimes begrudgingly) accept his need for thrills. Some of the elders have called him a Divine, some sort of god-like creature sent to live among them, due to his of injuries. Cliff always scoffs and shows them his shoulder scars, saying he's far from bulletproof. What nobody knows is, his shoulder scars don't come from any of his antics. Rather, he got them as a kit, while defending his sister from an angry raccoon. His bravery saved his sister's life, but he doesn't wish to be treated like some hero, so instead has always claimed they were from some silly antic.
