Prompt:
Reverence.
Not from her unto the new creatures that snuck across their land but quite the other way. Life had been difficult, from environmental to the pressure from other's to perform survival to the best of her ability. Raising each other up always came with the promise that you would eventually do better and to be falling behind- to be failing the other's of the colony and being a burden weighed on everyone involved.
These strange tall ones who had descended from the sky during twilight, who had set up in the forests by the lake side and hidden themselves away in the shadows, looked upon such a failure with a look of humbled gratitude at even the simple passing glances she gave them.
They laid out offerings and cowered like the small creatures of the field when paws that had failed her colony considered stepping their way.
It made little sense why such massive creatures would offer her such reverence but the food they pulled from the lakeside and offered her with shaking hands- it made her burden upon her allies lighten and gave her some purpose in the colony. To say what they wanted was a difficult thing, but to say that they would provide great use to her and her colony would be an understatement.

Cat Name: Watcher
Clowder: here, name is still a WIP
Prompt: Watcher and her clowder live with a human settlement in the grasslands. This is a farming settlement, but each summer nomadic tribes following herds converge nearby and often come to the settlement to trade. This means Watcher is rather accustomed to humans. Although she is still cautious around newcomers, including the new settlers, she is not completely feral. She is a favorite of the local children with her bright white fur, so she typically has her pick of warm fires to sleep near. She tries to show her appreciation to the humans, and keeps her keen eyes peeled for any trouble. Her yowling once warned the humans of a coyote stalking a child that had wandered away from the adults tending the fields, which is how she gained her name.

Cat Name: Cloud
Clowder: xxx
Prompt: Cloud perked his ears as the two she-cats, Avalanche and Skye, walked beside him. Recently, Cloud had left the lonely life of a solo cat and began hunting with Skye and Avalanche, hoping to make friends and prosper from the triple team-up tactics. Holding a mouse walked further, the two she-cats leading the way back to the abandoned zoo not too far from their new hunting grounds. Over the long extend of absent humans, the zoo had become invaded by vines and over-hanging ivy, all the previous animals living there long gone by now. Gone? But what if they come back? Maybe what grandpa's wild stories of his great great great great grandparents living with the humans... The thought always was there, always in the nooks and crannies of his mind.
Even though he had been living with the she-cats, the amazement and awe he felt when he entered the broken gates of their abandoned home always overwhelmed him. Cloud continued behind Skye and Ava, following them back to the main camp they had set up when the both of them had arrived as lost kits. This place had been home to them at least two or three years more than it had for Cloud but he could understand why this place was so comforting and beautiful, how could they not have stayed here? He passed the broken down and moss-covered enclosures, some signs he couldn't read lining the ghost of what was, he imagined, the humans attempting to entertain themselves with the daily life of a wild animal. Sick, he thought with disgust, feeling pity for those animals that were trapped here oh so long ago.
After the three cats had eaten and groomed themselves, it was his turn to run a lap around their zoo and just outside of it to ensure no foxes or anything unusual was lurking in the dusk of night. Cloud cautiously exited the comfort of their makeshift camp within what used to be the tiger enclosure. His hers fell flat onto his head as he overheard the radio within the employee room begin to buzz roughly, a voice on the other side. Even though it was static, it spoke a language even he couldn't understand. He stared at the source of the retched sound before darting off. It spooked him that the radio had sung such confusing words but what scared him the most was the fact even the girls told him that the radio hadn't ever made any sounds before.

Cat Name: Foam
Clowder: The Ones ForgottenPrompt:She has lived near the humans her whole life, so with more arriving from the skies, she knows to stay away from them. Seeing their reactions to cats of solid colors, she would rather not risk her life trying to befriend them, and instead lives with only cats that travel alongside them. Living off their scraps scavenging, and hunting her own food and shelters.

Cat Name: Longhorn
Clowder: SunDown Prompt:``
You've got a lot of nerve comin' into my part of town, Tumbleweed. What'ya want?`` The white Molly jumped off the heap of spinters that used to be a fence. She eyed the orange tom, squinting her eyes against the wind. ``
They're real! They're back and they're real and-`` ``
Slow your horses, what're you gettin' at?``
Tumbleweed catches his breath, looking her in the eyes with a mix of excitement and cautious fear. ``
The humans! They're real!`` The white Molly looks at Tumbleweed for a moment and smiles, laughing a quiet laugh. ``
I didn't take you as a jokester``, she starts to walk back to her "fence post" but is stopped by Tumbleweed yet again.
``
I'm not kidding! Follow me, I'll show you``, he half whispers, just audible over the wind. ``
This better not be some sort of trap``, she growls. ``
Or else you'll have a matchin' scar with Oasis``, the Molly hisses as she follows Tumbleweed, wanting to get him out of her fur more than anything else.

Cat Name: Beebalm
Clowder: LilacPrompt: Beebalm was used to people, she'd been raised in town after all, but these new people from the sky were... strange. They spoke differently and wore odd clothes, and they smelled very peculiar. But they offered their big fleshy paws for pets the same as her humans did. Their kittens still tugged on her whiskers and marveled at her eyes the same as those from home. Maybe these people would become like those from home, eventually. As long as her life stays the same, people are just people. Even if they came from the sky.

Cat Name: Flue
Clowder: tǽcan
Prompt:
It’s not that she dislikes humans. No, nothing of that sort. It’s more like…
Well, think of it this way.
All her life, she’s heard tales of the two-legs. They were her fantasies, her bedtime stories. Under the stars, curled up with her siblings, she’d listen to her mother sing of creatures, brilliant creatures, with hearts of steel, yet hearts so tender…
They could build sculptures made of bronze — just as easily, they could break others’ bones.
They held fire in their palms, spreading embers of love and hate in their wake.
Humans were a curious race, one that embraced both order and chaos; they were liars and leaders and—
And…
—everything in between, really.
If humans are going to return, things will either go horribly right or terribly wrong.
Regardless, things will change.
Flue thinks of ever-grassy meadows, of flowers and promises, of entire generations having lived without strife under an expansive, never-shifting sky, and she thinks…
Flue thinks that she doesn’t want change.
Change is a dangerous, dangerous, inevitable thing, and humans are always bringing about change, for better or worse.
It makes them dangerous, too.
And even putting that aside, humans were her bedtime stories,
You can imagine, then, the tales of princes and princesses, of dragons and wyverns and other foul beasts, but would you want to live that tale?
How would you feel if someone told you “Dragons will return one day,” and no one laughs because they can feel it in the air, and soon enough, the dragons actually do?
And when the dragons return, wouldn’t they take pleasure in burning civilization to the ground? They’d rebuild it to fit their likeness, sending the peasants running…
The more Flue thinks about it, the more she thinks that she fears humans. In the stories of olde, humans always get their way. Through peace or violence, it doesn’t matter. Humans are the heroes in every story, and the hero always wins.
So excuse her if she’s scared — if she’s unsure what the return of humans will bring.
There’ll be change, alright, and lots of it.
Even a blind cat could sense it in the air.
