No snow falls on Scorchclan's camp. It falls all around, but the heat from the flames crackling in the center of the camp form a barrier from the cold outside weather. Cats of all ages curl up around the fire, rotating spots every so often so they don't get too warm or toasty. The sap from redwoods have been crushed out and sprinkled all over the various fluffy beds that have been built around the camp, out of moss and wool and tufts of fluff, and anything else that two-legs have left behind. The sap, naturally holding fire resistant chemicals, helps add an extra layer of protection in case some silly kit tries to drag their bed too close to the fire, realizing only too late that it heats them up very quickly and can go from "warm" to "HOT" very quickly.

Prompt:
don't breathe, don't move, act fast. those are the three rules because while lasa'archiea isn't vengeful per se, she certainly enjoys sending units into difficult situations. after 3G's double round of antarctica, they'd rather face an erupting volcano than another blizzard. it's not the preparation that troubles them, but the sheer misery of being stranded on an ice sheet for an entire week, with threat of execution if they fail to bring back an adequate amount of prey. layers of warming charms deplete majick much sooner than most would think, and on top of assaulting leopard seals... 3G holds the record for most reverse summons due to exhaustion. it's not surprising, looking at their track record, but it's not great.

Prompt: Moonclan's firestarters are crucial to their comfort during Leafbare- they keep small fires going throughout the caves to keep them warm, and they also often heat stones to keep in cat's nest-rooms, to keep them warm while they sleep. Some cats do line their nests with furs and feathers, anything warm and cozy, and many cats snuggle up to each other more than normal when sleeping. The nursery and elder's rooms are always kept warm and comfortable, the chill of the snow kept far away deep within the caves.

When you're surrounded by humans, you take what you can get - literally. The clan often collects old blankets, rags, towels, and even carpet scraps to put into the camp, line nests with, and make soft spaces for the kits to play around in. They also collect feathers from gulls and other birds they hunt, which can be woven into these fluffed up nests or used as toys for the kits.

Sushisong was surprised at the gifts he received in his stocking. Receiving gifts in the winter was a kittypet tradition, but he decided to pass along the idea to his clan as a celebration of the union of the clan's and the local kittypet's relations. Sushisong himself received many gift from this mysterious 'Santa Claws,' including a mouse-shaped kittypet toy which makes a strange ringing when shaken. The gift is now one of his most prized possessions. Included in the gifts was a single lump of coal...no doubt repayment for one of Sushisong's own pranks.

Jack, and his brother Grover, both stared blankly at the sock. it smelled interesting to say the least, but why would they bother with such a strange object. Well, Jack knew very well that this was a sign for a good dinner. He mewed playfully and batted at the object, and out came a catnip toy. A small mouse shaped thing, and a fuzzy ball, the two proceeded to pounce the objects and play like mad. Two very good kitties this year.

Since nice vs naughty list placements really just depend on how well the cat listens to and respects authority, and the authority in the Travelers is Dragonfly, the group's stocking contents would be determined by how well Dragonfly thinks they've treated her. Frog's stocking would be filled with coal for sure (he questions Dragonfly's decisions a lot -- and with good reason), but there would be a nice gift buried at the bottom, because Dragonfly does care about him and his feedback is secretly appreciated sometimes. Pancake's stocking would be filled with coal, because they're a very bad listener. Horse would also get a stocking of coal, because he's focused on hunting Fly the horsefly so often that he rarely has time to pay attention to the group's leader. Everyone else would receive presents of varying qualities.

─ most of the tribe members consider themselves to be very humble and nice throughout the year though there are a few bad apples it seems. snow was surprised to find a large lump of coal in his stocking and proceeded to through a fit upon discovery, though it wasn't hard to see why he had received coal. the young guardian had always been rather shallow, more so focusing on himself and his looks, rather vain and narcissistic. he doesn't often realize what he is doing until he is told to straighten his act or do otherwise. he listens and obeys though not without getting a last word in under his breath. so the biggest lump of coal was found in his stocking.

─ raven's cry and leaf were among those who got the best presents, being that the pair had finally confessed their feelings for one another. in leaf's stocking she found flowers to put in her fur as she hasn't been able to decorate her fur all winter due to the snow. raven received a piece of bark from mother tree in which to engrave his and leaf's date of entwining. he promptly hid it from leaf as it would later be a surprise for her. over all a good find for both. the rest of the tribe received gifts that fit them and their needs.
