Once, long ago, the humans revered them. These felines were deities of nature, beings kind and patient enough to live alongside the (admittedly destructive) human race.

...but then, one man asked, "What does it take to kill a god?"

And so the hunt began.

Their pelts prized, claws fashioned into swords, organs sold, their hearts kept as trophies... The schools taught their children to fear the deities, to slay the gods for fame and fortune.

Despite their duty to the world, the panicked felines fought back — a pointless endeavor, for even a beast of elements cannot stand the wrath of nuclear, chemical, mechanical warfare.

Those who fell were reborn into a paradox. Into the time before time, into their own past, imprisoned deep inside the earth. Imprisoned within the Mineshaft.

These deities want freedom, and most would also appreciate revenge. It's more complicated than that, however — it appears that not all of them came from the same reality.

Some remember the deities starting a war to eliminate humankind. Others remember a shared apocalypse.

Conflicted as they are, the deities must come to a decision, and quickly — a third chance against the timeline, whichever one this is, is not guaranteed.
