it depends on the loner, but each one is offered a temporary spot in fogclan if they’d like it. cats who take up this offer will be temporarily accepted into the clan for as long as needed in exchange for some help around the camp. generally, cats are thankful for the extra paws to help out but not the extra mouth to feed, so most only stay for a few days before leaving due to the attitude surrounding them, but once or twice cats have stayed permanently with the clan. after their time in the clan, they are let to walk themself out of the territory with some advice on where to go, mainly a barn that might need one extra help, or a good spot for hunting outside of fogclan. and, as for those who don’t accept the offer, they are given this same advice and escorted to the border.

enchanting, with wings of roses and lilies, the fairies have always been a little more serious! <3 and during the chilly seasons, it's no different! the fairies have always had a distaste for the winter season and especially hate being cold! that being said, the fairies have an entire palace to huddle inside when the weather is far from warm and have a little festival to watch the aurora borealis (also known as the northern lights)!

"Mama, it's cold." the kit murmured softly. His red fur frizzed about, and his kitten blue eyes stared longingly at the white mounds surrounding the sill of the two-leg window.

The structure the three cats stood under was built by humans long ago, but nowadays the local felines use it as shelter.

"it's cold so you should run about to warm your own body up." the mother nudged her kit towards the outside, towards several kittens pouncing in the snow. They were all playing to stay warm, and to entertain themselves. The royal brat however, didn't wish to play games with commoner cats and refused, making his mother slightly disappointed.

Havenclan is very lucky, in that Forest’s Heart provides a sturdy and warm shelter during the worst of the winter, even during the rare blizzards that come off the ocean. During the more violent storms, when the clan is confined to the hollow within the tree and the root-dens that spread beneath the surface, Trouttail comes to life in spectacular fashion. The old tom loves to tell stories to the kits any time of the year, but during the winter, he trains and directs the young cats of Havenclan in re-enacting the stories he tells. Groups of kits—or cleverly-recruited apprentices—play mighty monsters, and everyone takes turns being the brave and clever cat who can befriend them and save the day. Should the blizzards last long enough, these performances attract the attention of the entire clan, many of whom remember taking part in these pastimes from their own kithood!

Prompt: "Alright everyone, who is up for storytime?" Cloudrunner asked, smiling over at the little ones especially. "Come, sit close together, and we will each take turns telling a story! It can be funny, scary, adventurous... or all of the above! Whatever you think of, we will all listen!' She winked. "Look, we even have some gull meat to tide us over yeah?" She pushed the day's kill towards the center, before wrapping her tail around Crowcall who was closest.

"And this time Crowcall, how about NOT making Sunnystep cry eh?" Crowcall's ears went back as they stuck their tongue out.

"Aaaaw, but thats the fun part!" This earned him a gentle bop on the nose, and a long suffering sigh from Emberstar. That was the other fun part though, how much could he make the leader groan? Story time was a LOT of fun!

Are there any special activities your clan does to keep especially warm/safe/not bored during such a dangerous season? Are there any special games for the kits? How about tasks for the elders?

Warmth isn’t too much of an issue for Craterclan in winter, the real peril is in the lack of water this time of year. Rain is very rare this time of year, even the plants are brittle with drought. However that makes a fun game for the kits, to keep them from wandering out to the cool shallow burrow of the nursery. Occasionally a warrior will bring back some especially crunchy leaves, and the kits get to play with them like their normal leaf-hunting games, but then once they break they get to see how teeny-tiny they can break up all the pieces! The crunching of the dry leaves hold a special place in Craterclan’s hearts as the nostalgia of the same games that they used to play!

Glacialclan was fairly used to the cold, living in the mountains didn't provide a whole lot of warmth, even though they did travel down to a lower altitude during leafbare. But that didn't mean that the cold wasn't hard on all of them. During the winter, there were a lot more patrols and a lot more groups going scavenging, partially because they needed to find food whenever and wherever they could, but mainly because walking and running kept the cats warm.

Their winter camp bordered a huge river, and during the winter the biggest cats in the clan would go and test the ice to make sure the kittens could go play on it, and they always had at least one cat keeping an eye on them. Elders would help work in the medicine den, organizing herbs if their eyesight was good enough, and helping keep each other warm if not, as well as little tasks around the camp that they could do. It kept them busy and made sure their joints didn't get too stiff with the cold.

Another thing that Glacialclan would do during the coldest days and nights, was they would all move into the warriors den. They needed that warmth, and being together during the hardest season made it easier to get through everything. The elders and kits would be in the middle, and the cats with the fluffiest fur on the outside, everybody else found their places in between, the smallest cats usually tending to find spots near the middle because they didn't have as much body heat.

Living in the cold for so long has made it extremely necessary for everybody to find ways to move and stay warm throughout the winter, and even during the summer depending on just how cold it got at their altitude.

"Ow, hey! Get offa me!"
Comic let out a huff as he was tackled by a peculiar blue rosetted tom, and the other party reluctantly let him up with a huff. "What're you doing, kid?"
"Kid? C'mon, you're barely older than me." Taako responded after a moment, getting up to his feet. "Triptych said I had to find someone to help me with keeping Wilson & Tom entertained."
"Why wouldn't he tell one of the children to do it?"
"Peach is busy with Moxie." Taako replied. "And Triptych thinks it'll do the old folks some good to keep busy during the cold."
Comic sighed as he got himself to his feet, giving Taako a nod after a moment or so. "How much you wanna bet that Wilson'll start going on about a story from his book or whatever?"
"I'll bet you the freshest piece of prey I catch tomorrow if he does."
"I'll bet two if he doesn't."
And off they went!
