Horses are not color-blind and in fact have dichroic vision! Dichroic vision means they can see blue and green on the color spectrum, but cannot distinguish between red. There has been research that indicates a horses vision is similar to the red-green color blindness in humans -- which means some colors, like red, appear more like green!
