when the leaves finally turn orange, maize is up and ready for fall. she’s always enjoyed the cool air and warms colors, especially when all the trees turn at once. her favorite part though? when those leaves start to fall to the ground and she’s able to pile them high. these leaf piles can be as large as a big ol’ grizzly, depending on when the trees shed.

maize used to enjoy this fun activity with her family. when she was a young pup, her mom and dad would bring her and her two other siblings out into the yard to rummage around in the leaves. sometimes her parents would build the piles for them, but other times they had to work together and do it themselves. but one day, when the pups reached of age, she was taken to a new home.

leaf piles have always brought back a feeling of nostalgia. they stir memory’s that she never wishes to forget and the warm feeling of home returns to her heart. she hopes to pass the activity onto her own pups one day, so that they too will always be reminded of home.

Selene adores snuffling through the cold autumn leaves and wandering through the orange and brown forests. Selene, a curious dog, can't help but explore every inch and over again. She's brave and isn't afraid of much, the change is nice for her, in fact, she'd prefer change over no change! The seasons taking their tolls give her a chance to explore everything all over again and make things much more interesting for her when she plays outside with the other dogs. Not to mention, sometimes staff workers and volunteers bring her and her friends autumn-themed doggy treats and toys!
