Please keep to one post per pair and the stories should be split into two, you could tell two versions of the same story or two halves of one story continued, its your choice! i am entering for the agouti w/ snowflakes with the name “alaska’s last hope / ursus”
werepickle is entering for the point w/ pinto with the name “master of the hunt / anarchy”

written by werepickle / part 1

Anarchy had seen many people come and go, some by foot and others by horseback.
He was always lay in the same spot watching the humans converse and handing over what he
assumed was furry logs. He never knew why humans needed these but Anarchy never
really cared. He'd been around long enough to know that these meetings happened
more often than not. After the humans left, Anarchy was basking in the warm sunlight
and the cool wind howling through the thickets and his ears pricked up at an all to
familiar sound of the leads being picked up. Anarchy heard the crunch of the human's
setps and they walked towards him and then felt the lead being
clipped to his collar and he was urged towards the centre of the camp to wait
for the humans. Patiently waiting he heard the soft pads of another dog being
lead to the centre. Looking sidewards Anarchy saw the newest pup in the camp
Ursus. Anarchy watched as Ursus was eager, hopping from paw to paw eager to
    follow the humans.

Ursus and Anarchy followed the humans to a small clearing
behind the camp. In the middle of the clearing was a large sturdy log
spike dug into the ground so it stood tall. There was a long rusty, yet sturdy
chain running of the pole. Anarchy followed the chain knowing to well that at the end was
a foul beast deadly to both man and dog. Unfortanely Anarchy knew what was coming next
but he was unsure if Ursus knew his true purpose of being at this camp.
When they approached through the clearly Anarchy saw the giant beast resting in the warm
sun, "When will this madness end?" Anarchy thought to himself.
The humans unclipped the leashes and stood back, out of harms way.
Anarchy growled in a deep voice "Ursus watch yourself" and
started to pad catiously towards the beast but kept his distance.
Ursus the eager pup looked at Anarchy and exclaimed
“Watch and learn” and bolted towards the lumbering beast. Anarchy watched in
shock and fear as Ursus woke the beast which was adorned with mutliply scars due to many battles.
The beast reared and tried to roar with saliva dripping from huge jaws, but
due to the chains and muzzle it didnt succeed in doing much. Circling the beast
Anarchy hung back while Ursus was nipping the beast every chance he got. With
Anarchy and Ursus to focused on attacking the beast they didnt notice the rusty chain
give way, which freed the beast from its prison. Anarchy soon picked up on the immediate
danger, "I refuse to die to this beast" he growled and raced towards the forest
refusing to be victim to such foul beast.

Out of breath and a safe distant from
the beast he watched in disdain as Ursus tried tackling the beast by himself.
"That kid is gonna get himself killed" thought Anarchy. Soon Ursus realised his
attemps were futile and raced the seek safety with Anarchy.
Anarchy looked back at the camp, noticing the both dogs and humans alike had either fled or
had been killed and watched whilst the beast ravaged through the
camp "My best odds would be trying to survive in the forest" he thought to himself.
Padding through the forest, his ears pricked up at the sound of movement behind him.
" What are we going to do now " chirped Ursus. " We are not a we "
huffed Anarchy as he continued to pad
through the thick and untamed forest.

written by -chirp- / part 2

ursus choose to ignore that comment, and continued to pad behind anarchy. the trees seemed to reach for the sky. ursus had never been in the woods before, his previous life before the encampment was traveling in cages and training. a startling loud noise echoed behind them, bone shaking and earth shattering. the bear, ursus remember the humans calling the beast that, had seemed to have pushed over some of the cages. luckily, the two of them were far enough away that creature wouldn’t find them.

“say, anar-whatever, where we headin’?” ursus asked, his eyes scanned the forest but he didn’t seem nervous. “because i know or a fact! i have no plan. what so ever. like seriously, i’m like a stranded ship right now. have you ever been on a ship before? i was once! it was kinda cold, didn’t get fed a lot, but i made some buddies! i think they didn’t like me to much, i dont know why.”

“i can see why,” anarchy grumbled. “and my names anarchy. say it with me now, an-ark-ee.” the older of the two had his head low, sniffing the ground. he was tracking the woods, making sure to avoid any suspicious smells. “and I’M heading further west, away from this wretched camp. you? you can go wherever your heart pleases.” he growled out, teeth slightly bared.

ursus decided to ignore him and his comments about leaving. and while he didn’t speak again, he made sure to still be the lovely nuisance that he is. the trek was long and as the night got darker, it got colder. luckily, the trees provided cover from the harsh winds blowing above. no words were spoken as they continued their walk. finally, after what felt like hours, and most likely was, anarchy paused. “here.” lying in front of them was a fallen tree. it seemed that it had gotten stuck and was now slightly suspended above the ground.

anarchy and ursus approached with caution, but they couldn’t smell any other creatures in the area. the younger of the two pushed forward and stopped at the log. he crouched down to inspect the den like area the tree had made. “it seems safe.” ursus called back to anarchy and then preceded to push his body under the log. ignoring anarchy’s shouts behind him, he continued to move forward. the enclosed space was large enough to hold three dogs. ursus poked his head back out, a large grin stretch on his face. “come in! its nice and big and theres enough materials in here to creat a bed!”

anarchy huffed in annoyance, but none-the-less he pushed his body under the tree as well. ursus was right, the room was big enough to hold them both. and luckily for them, there was indeed enough materials for a bedding. he began to push moss and pine needles into a circular form. ursus watched him do so, his tail slightly wagging beside him. when anarchy was done, he lied down onto the cushiony bedding. the young pup didn’t know what to do with himself now. but anarchy decided for him, when he beaconed ursus over with his tail. the pup jumped up in joy and pranced over, before plopping down next to anarchy. the two snuggled closer, exhausted from the days events. as the moon rose higher into the night, the two husky’s fell into a deep sleep, knowing they were warm and safe.

Show name: BA'S Are We Written in the Stars Call name: Apollo Gender: male

Story 1 (Apollo's POV written by me):

I came from a crappy background. Long story short, those sad dog stories where some adorable young twenty something year old comes along and ends up taking said sad dog? Yeah, that's my story. Until I met Kelley. She was kind and sweet and everything my first handlers should've been. Scratch that. Not handlers, owners. I was a possession, not a companion.

Kelley had a roommate, Charlie, who happened to also be her very best friend. I don't know their story or how they came to be. All I know is they were both looking to get a dog. No shared custody 'cause we all know custody battles get ugly, so they both wanted their own dog.
Charlie came home with Lumak first.

Now, I can't for sure say details about what happened because I wasn't there, but I know he became comfortable with Kelley and Charlie between the time they got him and the time they got me.
I don't think he was prepared for the tornado of a pup I was when they brought me.
I was the in-your-face kind of pup. The one who was mistreated but still young enough to move on quickly and give my love to the next bidder while he was stoic most days and appeared grumpy.

I was rambunctious and didn't ever take no for an answer. Even though Lumak would snap at me, a sign for me to stop because he was getting annoyed with my shenanigans, and I didn't care until he was making me submit. Of course I'd roll over and give the old ham my belly and immediately army crawl to his face and would lick his muzzle repeatedly. He seemed to get a kick out of that some days. Like, he enjoyed my puppy kisses but didn't want to admit it.
I was that rambunctious pup no one knew what to do with, but Lumak, he knew how to put me in my place. He spoke my language, so how could he not?

As I got older, I chilled out more. Grew to not be so... mouthy and wild.
Kelley and Charlie stayed best friends over the years. The two were inseparable, like me and Lumak grew to be.
Whenever Kelley and Charlie went on a bonding hike, they would take us out with them to find trails less traveled so we could run ahead a bit and sniff anything and everything out. Lumak didn't care to go as far as I did. He always stayed between me and the two-leggers, but he was never far from either of us.
He was the in your face and get you to listen type. He'd furiously bark at me or the humans if one of us was too slow or too fast, a sign to either pick up pace or slow it down.
The bossy director man. He was definitely in charge and had zero issue making it known that he wanted you to listen.
But he became my best friend.
Would I ever admit that to Lumak? Hell no. He'd probably gag at the thought.
But any day Charlie takes him alone, the house feels empty and sad and I miss him when he's gone. I always look forward to our next adventure and waking up to him demanding I sleep in my side of the bed instead of curled up next to him.

Story 2 (from Lumak's POV written by Zombiehund):

When Lumak was born he wasn't a pet, barely even an animal, at least in his owners eyes. He was just a nameless tool, his existence had only one purpose: to make his owner money. Especially by winning sled races, possibly breeding more Winners later on if he did good enough. He was taken from his mother when he was just old enough to be weaned, his training was rough, anything that would make them run and behave without wasting too much time, effort or resources. Fed just enough for his purpose, to run.
But it seemed like he never did good enough to even justify his existence in the end, no matter how hard he tried. So like any faulty tool, he was discarded.

He was lucky, or at least that's what he was told. A family took him in, having been sold the dream of taking in a poor, worn out Race dog who just needed love and a nice home to live out his days. No mention about how he wasn't used to Humans much, to behaving like a pet, or even living inside. Of course not… how could they ever have wanted him had they known how much work he would be? At least… he hopes that was the issue, and not… he.
He was constantly stressed, until he started to try and show his discomfort and fear a bit more clearly by growling. Instead of respecting his space as he had hoped they would, they dumped him at a shelter, claiming he was dangerous, and that they were too scared to keep him any longer.

This is where Lumak expected his story to end. There, in that prison of a kennel, until his last breath. Who'd want him? A dog with no training to be a pet, that had been labeled as aggressive? Well, turns out there was someone. Charlie.

Most dogs would probably have been overjoyed to be taken home from the shelter, but honestly, he wasn't. Expecting this to be like either of his prior homes it would probably just be stressful until he would be discarded again. Surprisingly, he wasn’t, instead the new humans Charlie and their roommate Kelley seemed to actually respect his boundaries. He stayed wary of them, but soon they were able to all peacefully coexist at least.
Peaceful until…
Lumak could barely figure out what was going on before he had a puppy up in his face. Wait, a puppy? It seemed like Kelly had brought them home. At first he was far from happy about the new addition disturbing his new peace, but no matter how annoying that little bundle of fur got, he could never stay mad at him too long.
In some ways Apollo reminded him of a happier past, when he and his sibling had still been with their mother, mostly unbothered by the humans of his birthplace. happy, careless, and little nuances all on their own, but even more together. At least, until they had all been split up, way too young, and the harsh training had started.

Luckily, that wasn’t Apollos fate, and through that, Lumak was able to see the two humans of theirs in a new light as well. How kind and forgiving they could be, even if a puppy was gnawing on their legs.
In fact, they were way more forgiving than he was ever for similar shenanigans. Someone had to teach that tornado how to behave after all, right? Maybe even make sure he stayed out of trouble, of course totally just because of how annoying the chaos would be. In no way because he actually cared about the young dogs safety, why would he? It wasn’t like he actually liked the furball… at least that's what he’d tell himself and the pup, if he ever cared to listen. Nonono, he was just keeping an eye on him to keep things organised.

And look after the boy he did, as the small devil grew into a somewhat decent dog. On good days, tolerable… probably just due to Lumaks good teachings. But of course he couldn’t leave Apollo to his own devices now, surely he would start his mischief again without anyone, or more specifically, Lumak, to guide and lecture him, possibly getting himself and others injured in the process. he’d never admit that the main reason was that he had grown fond of his little tornado.

Part 1: PrincessAlexis entering for 339
Part 2: ►Athena◄ (me) entering for 338

It was a beautiful day at doggy daycare and Melody had grabbed her very favorite toy, a blue stuffed dinosaur that actually squeaked when you chewed on it. She loved anything that made noise while she was playing with it, and imagined the sounds were vocalizations from her little toy friends. She chewed delicately on the tail, working her way up to the belly where the squeaker was. She heard the beginning of a little squealing sound and chomped harder, making it squeak loudly. With every nibble she heard another noise, and her tail wagged in time with the tune. She was making a little song out of it, one that her mother used to hum while the pups were eating.

Suddenly, the toy was pulled from her grasp and she looked up to see her sister, Duchess. While Melody was only a few minutes younger, it might as well have been a few years considering the way her big sister acted a bit... well, entitled.

Melody whimpered and tried to grab the toy back but she wasn't strong enough and she could only watch sadly as Duchess trotted away with the blue stegosaurus.

Hanging her head in dismay, she strolled around the room looking to see what else she might play with. There was a red and white puppy playing with a bouncy rubber ball and two pups engaged in a lively game of tug-of-war. She wasn't the type to intrude, so she made her way around the edge of the room until she came across a toy bone. Most bones are hard and chewy but this was a nice rubber one, and when she gave it a reluctant bite she was pleased to hear a little squeaky noise.

She squeezed it between her jaws and proudly trotted over to the human, showing them what a neat toy she had found. They patted her on the head and then went back to checking in the big pup which had just arrived.

As soon as the big pup's leash was unhooked, they ran right over and pulled the squeaky bone away from Melody. She let out a sad yelp in protest, but the humans didn't intervene...

As Duchess proudly strutted away from Melody, dinosaur plush in her grip, she thought of how it was her right as the older littermate to have pick of the toys. Besides, if Melody really wanted to keep the toy, she should have stood up for herself. Although, she did try to grab it… Settling down to gnaw on her prize, she glanced over at her sister.

“See,” Duchess thought to herself, “she’s not that upset. She’s already found something new to show off.”

Piercing squeaks filled the air as Duchess chomped down on the stegosaurus. Just as she was getting into the zone, she heard something. A little yelp. Was that… was that her sister?

Dropping her toy, Duchess leapt up, scanning the room to find Melody. She spotted her sister staring sadly at a new pup. This pup was walking away from Melody with something in his mouth. Wait… This pup had stolen Melody’s toy! How dare he! Only Duchess was allowed to steal her sister’s toys! She raced towards the new pup, bigger and older than her, and barreled into him.

They fell to the ground in a tangle of limbs. After several sharp nips and pained yelps, Duchess emerged victorious from the tangle with toy bone in mouth. She trotted over to Melody, who was watching the struggle with wide eyes, and dropped the bone at her feet. Taking a breath before speaking —

Suddenly, two hands wrapped around Duchess, lifting her into the air. Wait, what?

“Duchess, you know better than that! Bad girl! No fighting the other puppies.”

A bad girl! But... she was just standing up for her sister!

As Duchess was set down in a separate pen, no toys to be seen, the person said, “And bad puppies go in the timeout pen.”

Duchess was sulking in the desolate pen when something fell on top of her. Scrambling out from under, she saw it was the blue dinosaur. She looked over, and Melody was standing up, leaning over the fence. Duchess kept staring as Melody went off, grabbed the toy bone, and came back, lying down beside the fence separating the two. Melody started gnawing the bone, letting little squeaks into the air, as Duchess stared. Slowly, Duchess laid back down and joined in with the dinosaur. As the two squeaked along, they knew that no matter what, they would always be there for their sister.
