Chimkin Name: Marlin
Prompt 1:
My first thought this chim was posted that the overall design reminded me of the ocean. More specifically, the markings & colors remind me a lot of fish with countershading camouflage. At first I looked at taking name inspiration from sea creatures that were bioluminescent, however I didn't find anything that interested me. After that I decided to look at fish more broadly, keeping the camouflage markings in mind. The family istiophoridae (also known as Marlins) stood out to me because a lot of the fish reminded me of this chim, and now whenever I see this roo I'm reminded of marlins. I then played around with using parts of the word istiophoridae as a name, however I ended up simply picking 'Marlin', as it already sounded similar to other names such as 'Merlin', so it felt more fitting for a name.

Prompt 2:
Marlin glared at the rooster infront of him. He had half-heartedly hidden himself amongst some shrubs, unaware that his glowing body was giving him away. Even with the roo staring directly at him, he had hoped that he wouldn't be noticed. Marlin was a somewhat naive individual; being hand raised as a chick meant a good start in life, however he was oblivious to the social cues of the other chims. Truthfully the young rooster didn't know what to do; he had ducked behind the foliage the second his owner had released him in the coop. Afraid and confused at this new environment his initial response had been anger, kicking and scratching as large human hands placed him down. This anger soon turned into fear, his outburst having attracted the attention of a large cyan rooster who appeared alert. The rooster was now right infront of him, curious eyes glaring back at the new arrival. Trying not to offend the rooster, Marlin nervously took a step backwards before stumbling further back, almost tripping over his own tail as he did so. Marlin wasn't a very confident chim; he'd never won a fight before (not even against that one stuffed toy that he insisted had attacked him first). He really just wanted to be left alone to do his own thing. He had been rather happy before he’d been put here. Nothing was better than sitting alone with his human, constantly getting petted and fed treats. But this new world was strange and scary, he was unsure what to do.

I liked all of the entries there were made, but this one stood out to me the most.
I love how you incorporated your other roo into the little story. <3

Congrats on your new rooster and bank upgrade. ^^

Ah thank you very much for Marlin! I'm excited to have won him. He'll eventually learn to get along with Azure but right now the lil guy's terrified of him.
