This one is based off of what my dog looked like earlier when I gave her a bath lol! Thought her colors looked pretty and it inspired a design, and what better than to make it into a hyena like the crazy pup that mine is!

The night was a quite one, wind for once not whipping through the peaks of her home. It was unnatural for this land of danger and bitter cold to appear blissful. The silence tending to be but a warning of possible change to come. A lone hyena watching from the shadows of her den, ears perked for any sound of movement outside the caves walls. Teeth and claws ready to fight off anything that wished to claim her space. Fur on end still crystallized from her earlier patrol, yet slowly being melted by her own body heat as little as there was.

A night like this should not be spent alone, but some seem to be cursed by the gods. Taken from her home and pack after a vicious battle with a rival pride Appalachia could only remember retreating through a portal. She didn't even belive she was in the same realm. Had she died, and if so was this her eternity? It was nothing like her mother had described so long ago. Prayers for rescue or answers as the why they had stuck her here of all places left unanswered. Until after moons of pleading she had given up. It wouldn't be the first time Appalachia had slept with soaked and freezing fur but she had hoped perhaps it would have been her last. Giving in to the slowly rising exhaustion seeping into her bones. The crunch of snowfal under tiny lost paws falling on deaf ears as she slept.

The sound of waves crashing against each other was the only thing that could be heard for miles. The storm raged overhead, darkness spread for miles around. A blur of white and black tumbled through the waves, vanishing for seconds before reappearing at the surface. Pieces of destroyed wood lay scattered across the surface of the ocean, the remains of a once glorious boat.
Suddenly, the black and white blur broke the surface, clutching to one of the pieces to stay on. Kai heaved in gulps of air, scanning the horizon the best she could in the limited vision the storm gave. She couldn't see any of the others, she hoped they were safe... but she could not do anything to help them right this moment. She needed to think of a way to get out of this alive. The storm has come out of no where, soaking everything and everyone to the bone. They could not turn back, they were too far out. The ship went down and with it the crew.
Kai Shivered atop the wood piece she sunk her claws into. She looked to the sky and prayed to Lua for safe passage and that she and the others would make it out of this. She had very little hope...but hope was all she had so she held it tight. And she would not let go. She was determined to survive, to find the others. They would finish their task and see the next moonlight. Lua wills It.
