Meeting Finch was an experience that Nathan would never forget. She was possibly the most energetic animal he had ever seen, bounding around the field and jumping over obstacle fences without any sign of stopping. It brought a smile to his face. She was going to be a handful, but he already had activities in mind to keep her busy.

When he started to approach her, she paused for all of a few seconds before trotting right up to him. He offered his hand, and she sniffed curiously for a moment before nuzzling her muzzle against his palm. He stroked her cheek and along her neck, ruffling her mane a little.

"There's a good girl. You're pretty friendly, aren't you?"

She gave his hand a lick and then turned to dart back into the field. He would have to give her time to get all that energy out before he could take her home, but at least she was comfortable with him. That would make training much easier. (168 words)
