Something to do with their mane: Usagi likes to think of his mane as a source of pride, the bigger the mane the better. He worked hard to get his as long as he has, and loves showing it off to anyone he thinks will humor him.

Something to do with their mane: The mane among his tribe is a status symbol. The larger, more luxurious the mane the higher up in the food chain one becomes. They pay no mind to jewels, those are only powers and things that have been chipped away in combat. Manes however must be taken care of, properly looked after and maintained to keep them at their fullest. This takes time and dedication, which is why they are a status symbol and why Grinda is among the top ranking in his tribe.

Something to do with their mane: Longer! Thicker! Floofier! Their hidden goal is for it to one day be so thick they can hide their entire face in it. But in truth he grows it out for the ladies, who love how soft and well-kept it is. Go ahead, groom it. He wont mind!

"what do you mean you want your mane styled like mine?" the feisty, primal sima replies, one brow raised in simple confusion. he's been a hairdresser for years, proudly working on any sima whose troublesome mane needs taming, and yet... he's never bumped into this question before. he's not even quite sure how he got his mane to look this way, to be frank, so it's a little perplexing to him to think of mimicking the job for another. where would he even start?

"yeah!" the client replies with a pleasant chirp. in the first place, they don't look like the type to pull off this manestyle at all. they're a bubbly, pretty-in-pink type character with long, lovely locks of wavy fur. their barbie blue eyes light on novo again with renewed energy, "your mane is the best! i've always wanted to try something different with mine, and i just think you look awesome... i'd be honored if you'd try to give me a style even vaguely similar to yours, novo! seriously, everyone loves your mane."

novo blushes, glancing away a little bit as he mutters a faint, "aw, shucks..." he chuckles sheepishly under his breath, his face reddening with a little fluster. for a big guy with so much attitude, novo definitely had a soft side and this regular client knew it. "alright, alright, you've sold me on your idea..." he added, glancing back at the customer who was eagerly bouncing in the hair stylist's chair, "but i have a whole care manual you'll have to take with you and read, and practice routinely! this mane takes a lot of work to maintain, so you can't skip even a single item on the weekly list of conditioning, mouse, or shampoo... you think you're up for that much responsibility?"

the client giggles, "of course, novo! now, if you'd please." they right their posture, squaring their shoulders and preparing for the haircut to begin. novo drapes the hairdresser's cloth over them, tying it neatly around their neck, and carefully he sets to work with his claws and a couple different specialized pairs of scissors to trim and neaten the client's mane to look like his. it takes a fair deal of time, and on the client's way out, they do in fact take the manual-- which looks like a regular novel...

that being said, it isn't long before the client's friends come in and ask about this manestyle too. then people novo has never even met-- they come from different salons all over town to have him cut their manes. like a sweeping trend, soon everyone is wearing their manes like the hairstylist novo-- but none wear it so well as he!
