leaf; bri has always had a penchant for collecting things that looked like them, and this leaf was no exception. a crumpled old ball on the side of the road, in the middle of transitioning from orange to a dead brown. it had seen some things, ripped around the edges and folded in multiple places. the fact bri crossed paths with it is incredible - a slight gust of wind should just blow it away. a caterpillar must've gotten to it a long time ago, for a line of tiny munches near the bottom existed - rarely did they ever see leaves with caterpillar bites (and they saw a lot of leaves in the hike trails). bri has a soft spot from broken and old things, and this leaf fit the bill - it was coming home with them.

It was quite ugly to be honest. Flax was an avid fan of the art of oshibana, they loved to press leaves, flowers, cool looking flora they found on various travels. They however, picked up possibly the most ugly leaf they had seen before. Now normally such a leaf would not catch their eye but for some reason this leaf did. It was somewhat cracked, with a brown colour that could only be described as dirt, with small patches of a darker brown scatter over it like snow and a twisted stem that was reminiscent of a pig's tail. Overall it was just an ugly leaf, yet he couldn’t take his eyes off it, perhaps it was their inner hobby popping out. Nevertheless, even though it’s appearance wasn’t the most flattering he added it to his book to be pressed, even going so far as to dedicate a whole page to the one leaf. He thought to himself, perhaps he should dedicate a whole book to some ugly fauna since he liked the leaf so much… or not, he has some taste, guess this leaf will just be the odd one out.

A lush green leaf has fallen from the tree, and on its tips it wears, just a peek of those rich autumn paints,
To see such a leaf is truly a treasure to behold,
As it is the first sign, and that soft little whisper in your ear saying.

alright. so i know my entry is past-due, and it's not even complete, but that's because my "2-hour nap" yesterday turned into an "18-hour hibernation" when i was going to take the time to finish my entry. i didn't get it done sooner because i've been super busy trying to get make-up work for school done, so i figured friday would be a good day to wrap things up. while i might be able to use these lines for another kalon, i highly doubt i will, so i figured i'd just go ahead and submit what i have now instead of just scrapping everything <:]
