what are they hiding: They wouldn't even believe me if I told them, I’m ok with that now though. This will be my duty, my mission to the world. It has been about 3 years since I became the hero of this city. I'm still unsure if I'm the best candidate, but it's a job I am happy to do. The monsters from the dark are always on prowl, and I'm one of the few that can see them, let alone fight them. Yet the power to do so is not my own.

It was the day after my 18th birthday, I woke up to a big wet thwap on my face and the taste of ink in my mouth. only to find a wet piece of parchment covered in an ink looking goop. I almost immediately threw it against my wall, where it came crashing down to the floor and scurried off like a confused rodent. Chasing after it seemed pointless without how fast it was but instinct took over as I followed it through most of my room. Only to have the goop jump out my open window. In the dead of night, there is no way I'm finding that inky blob.

Tired and defeated, I lay back down in my bed for tomorrow was my first day of college. Drifting back into sleep almost felt like floating in an ocean. When my eyes finally opened to the sun's rays, it felt almost like I had been swimming in an ocean of the same inky goop from last night. Before I get a chance to figure out what's going on I heard a soft deep voice whisper in my ear, “ah so the lovely is finally awake. My apologies for the crash landing. Even after getting used to my jumps, it's a little hard to pinpoint exactly where I'm going to come out without a proper perception.” trying my hardest not to scream, I frantically cover up my body and shove my back against my wall. Looking around only to see that no one is there. “I’m not physically there dear, i'm talking to you through the ink that you digested. Creepy I know, I didn't think it was possible myself, but alas here we are. You may call me the ink, or inky, or whatever helps you cope. I'm not here to hurt you, but I think I'm here to stay.”

We talked for hours trying to understand what's wrong with me, the powers I may now possess. I could see the veil between this world and the next, as well as secrete an inky fluid from my pores like sweat. Inkburt taught me how to control the ink and transform it into whatever my mind could think of one day while we were training we found a shadowy monster wreaking havoc. Using our newly found power and friendship we vowed to forever protect the city from danger.

With the amount of mysteries and darkness surrounding her, one could think that Noctua hides something dangerous nearby. A mortal poison hidden in one of the flasks neatly stored on the shelf, or perhaps a small but extremely venomous creature trapped in one of the shaking boxes in the storage.

The amount of rumors going on concerning her magic store is not insignificant, and sometimes franckly ridiculous, because Noctua doesn't have anything to hide. Really ? False.
That Kalon totally does have a secret that she won't share with anyone.

Hidden behind her desk, on a small velvet cushion, sits a stuffed toy. To be exact, a small, ball-sized unicorn plush. With a soft, light pink fur and sparkles in her strawberry-colored mane. And, don't forget it, a gold horn complementing its shining eyes. A gift given to Noctua when she still was a young Kalon by her parents, now deceased.
At first glance, everyone could tell it would be a great friendship story between Noctua and the plush, which has been named Uni the Unicorn in a true child fashion. The two were literally inseparable. If Noctua was coming for dinner, so was Uni. If Noctua went out, so was Uni. If Noctua went to bed, so was Uni.

But all things don't always stay the way we want them to. Years passed and soon that behavior was starting to get frowned upon. Noctua never was the type to go toward people and seek friendship, so the only friend she had was Uni.
But what kind of teenager would bring a pink unicorn stuffed toy everywhere ? Everyone else would laugh at her, and even if Noctua smiled and laughed with them, it hurt her to be mocked for her childish behavior. After all, children are cruel and their words managed to stab Noctua's heart. Why would nobody accept her strange frienddship ? Should she be ashamed of her best friend ?

The Kalon had to adapt and started to hide the plush in her bag while going out. In school, for her first job, even when Noctua managed to open her own magic shop, Uni always was here, hidden from view.
Even now, Noctua is hidding her best friend under that desk, every day when she comes to work until she leaves in the evening. The Kalon doesn't want a repeat of her childhood.
No one needs to know her childish side.
No one should know.
No one will know.

Noctua owns a small little magic shop. She is the only worker in there and is the one creating all the potions and spells available. Lucky charms, potions that improve the growth of plants, spells that will guide you to your loved one or deadly poison... This Kalon almost has everything.
But there is one potion she still has difficulties to create : the love potion. Her first tries ended up being potion that improved hair shine (she kept that recipe and it became a highly demanded item). A bit later, Noctua once managed to create a potion that attracted ladybugs. But... Too much ladybugs. They would cover the body without leaving a single piece of the Kalon visible.
But the kalon is improving : her lastest try was a close one. Everyone turned their head to watch her walk on the sidewalk, unable to remove their sight from her. Good, good.
Now, she just has to see how to remove the side effect that makes flowers sprout on the top of her head.
