Brambletrap used to be a Veil Walker, he went on a lot of adventures as one. He made a point to take young walkers with him so they could get a feel for the Veil early. He was a fantastic mentor, having trained several apprentices up to adulthood before The Incident. He was taking two young apprentices on an adventure, they had done this several times before. They had what was supposed to be a secure fairy ring back to the one apprentices' clan.... It had served himself and many other Veil Walkers faithfully in their alliance with the clan for many years. Unfortunately, the day he was returned with the two young apprentices something went wrong. Bramble is still not clear in the blur of action what exactly happened but what he does know is he felt the Veil flicker and acted. He shouldered the apprentices out of the ring, hoping to spare them what his gut instinct screamed was coming. The ring broke, and the Veil snapped shut on their tails. His efforts only managed to save part of the apprentices tails, losing his own entire tail in the process.
He doesn't regret his action except for wishing he had acted just a little faster to completely spare the apprentices. Thankfully through some strange blessing of the Proxy they were unscarred by the amputation, it looks simply as if none of them had long tails to begin with. He can no longer walk the Veil without his tail anchoring him to the plane, but he finds things to do to help the clan. He dries the mushrooms and crafts the emergency rings the rest of the Veil Walkers still need.

It was
Birchlight that ultimately found a colorful gift for Bramble to wear in place of his tail, a funny little two leg decoration that was hanging on a wire. She carefully carried it back to base not wanting to get it dirty before Bramble even got to see it in the first place.
"Bramble look! I found you a fuzzy tail!" She cheers proudly showing off the pastel fuzzy tail.
Bramble looks it over, purring happily at the gift. He carefully takes it shifting to try and see what it looks like against his back as close to where his tail would be as he can.
"I love it.... but how do I wear it without a strap?" He looks to 'Light who has a look that screams 'I didn't think of that part'. Thankfully
Lepidcatcher has a plan.
"I know where we can get something to clip it to. Hold on I'll be right back." He darts off through the nearest fairy ring, returning after a few minutes dragging a two part harness with him.
"Here, I think we can detach the back part from the front so you don't have to wear the full thing." He explains fussing with the attaching hooks trying to do exactly that.
"Nono... I think I want to try the full thing on first, help me?" Bramble assures padding over, between the three of them they manage to get the whole thing on correctly after a few attempts. 'Light then clips the tail on the strap on his back closest to where his tail would be, thankfully the little chain clip gives the tail a little more length so it falls perfectly off where his tail would be.
Bramble turns in circles, watching the tail swishy and sway in response to his movement beaming excitedly.
"I love it... thank you both so much!"
