Oberon is an amazing character. I'm also interested him if I dont get chosen for Shirengen :)
mostly inactive. i've grown out of CS, however, it will always be part of my story and i will always carry fond memories of this site. I have tried many times in recent to become active again, but it has been difficult to find that imaginative and childish spark I once had visiting this site. i wish everyone well and hope that you find fruitfulness on and off of CS <3 thank you for the wonderful 11 years, ciao!

Okay, this fine man is now tied with Tashi for favorite boy. :3 Way more regal than I ever could’ve expected from his little headshot thingy! (And I actually see quite a few bald eagles where I live, so I'm kinda soft for them!)
Why do I always have such a soft spot for older, parent figure type characters? Maybe it’s because I'm said to be an old soul. An old soul, who's always felt a bit out of place too. The whole premise of his flock in general sounds really great, I'd probably actually want to live there myself if I were a Featherval. And I can seriously relate to being soft for the young'uns and just wanting to protect them with my life. He'd be such a joy to flesh out and write some stories about. (He’s also the only other one I share pronouns with. Perhaps a bit silly sounding, but it's honestly great for me when it comes to writing since I tend to slip into the character's headspace at least a little while writing. Way easier to do that when your pronouns match up.)
I'm very, very interested in him! I'd be extremely honored to own either Oberon or Tashi, but it would also be an honor to be chosen for Shirengen.
Pretty sure I already said it, but good luck to everyone else putting in for the monarchs! I can't wait to see the Feathervals story unveil even further.

Hello! I am interested in this fellow here!
I am new to the species and have been lurking for a while - this large bean is the first I am trying out for. He seems perfect for what I am looking for in a first kiddo - and his character is already something I dearly adore. (And becoming staff for the species is a goal of mine. They're so cute.)
If you do not mind I have posted a small blurb of what I would do to further his character - I have nowhere to post this concept and felt like sharing (The owner of this guy, even if it is not me, is welcome to use this concept :]
- Code: Select all
Many of his flock seek his guidance and he likes to put himself in their pawsteps trying to see how they are feeling about the situation before figuring out how to best deal with it. He recognizes that each of his flock are individuals in their own right and must be given advice accordingly. What may work for one may NOT work for another. It is hard for him not to overtake any dangerous situation and get protective.
He may not say it (or show it!) but he loves when the youngsters come and tell them their latest joke they heard or made up - just to see if Oberon will smile. In rough times he would gladly give up his share of a meal in order to feed his flock.
If it came down to choosing to save one member of his flock, or them all, he would save them all even at a great risk to himself. This is how he lost his tail - and almost his life - in one particularly fierce battle. He was attempting to save part of his flock and made a quick tactical judgement leading to the least risk and most reward for everyone involved except himself. He was lucky he was able to escape just without a tail tip and some scrapes. He does not have many friends, which is alright with him, the wellbeing of his flock is more important than personal relationships... but he does often find himself mildly lonely at times.
However He knows his flock comes first and so does the greater good of the flock, which in the end makes it all worth it for him.
The tension with Shirengen is mainly due to her behavior. He does not understand how she cannot love her entire flock - with no favourites - and how she can be so quickly won over. The flock is meant to be protected not ... paraded about and given goodies that show affection. Perhaps his biggest issue is that she is just so over the top and showy. Although he could very well be mistaken and she has a deeper relationship and leadership towards her flock... but the outer aura she reveals is one he does not like. It is not traditional... It is not how, he believes, a leader should act.
I will take my leave now!
Love of my LifeWhat should I even put here now?
I do stuff on here sometimes...

xI'm incredibly late to posting to signal my interest in this guy, but I figured late was better than never.
I am such a sucker for characters with a strong moral code- especially when it allows for that lovely rp nuance in which you can bend said moral code in specific scenarios. Type 1 enneagram kinda characters; the ones that could quickly slip into something a little too serious if they can't learn to let loose every once in a while. Exploring that serious side is always a rewarding experience, and I'd especially love to flesh it out with a character who clearly cares a lot for his allies- I think that duty of care in contention with his moral code could make for a whole load of interesting potential. His wariness also seems like it would be interesting to explore further; I feel as though there is absolutely a reason for it- especially combined with his apparent dislike for flashy displays and percieved arrogance.
Though it's something that would obviously have to be discussed with the owner of Shishi, perhaps developing said wariness into something that arose due to a dispute with the Garden flock could create for a baseline for other Featherval owners to develop their own characters. It would also provide an initial goal of restoring some sort of equilibrium, the perfect excuse to get some roleplay rolling!
I also realised it might be worth mentioning that I'm already incredibly invested in the Timber flock in general; and I'm certainly going to try and snag myself a member no matter who gets the chance to lead them. I was always a Thunderclan kid growing up and I think it shows, seeing as I've gravitated towards the flock that seems to harbour the hardy, traditional types. I can't wait to find out exactly what traditions are passed down within the flock, and I'm already head-over-heels for the idea of the expanse of oral history that seems to encompass the values at their heart. (My parents are storytellers, I grew up on traditonal celtic folklore and I'm still terribly superstitious because of it- I'm the kind of person you see waving to a magpie and look at with bemused intrigue)
That said, and interest duly signalled, I doodled a little piece of gift art because I absolutely couldn't help myself. It's for the winner, whoever they turn out to be! Good luck, to everyone entering for Oberon or any of the other monarchs- reading all your thoughts has me so, so excited to sink my teeth into this species.
