Nayeli was said to have been "the chosen one". She was born and raised under the belief that she would be the one to go on adventures and defeat majestic creatures. For a time, she truly believed these statements and went off on long, treacherous journeys. However, she never went through her own exploration of herself.

The hardest thing she ever had to do was to stop her adventures. On one particular journey, she got extremely injured and couldn't move out of the sweet, small village she had taken temporary residence in. Nayeli has many scars marking her journeys and the creatures she's fought, but she had never experienced pain like this. She began to fall deep into a depression, feeling sorry for herself for being unable to physically move or to do anything anymore.

One day, a kind man approached her seeking help. He pleaded with her to defeat an unknown creature that was stealing from his flock and his home, but she sadly shook her head at him. "I'm useless," Nayeli told him meekly and settled back into bed with a large sigh.

Despite her quick surrender, the man was unwilling to give up. "You're certainly not! You simply need some rest and recovery. Perhaps you should take the time to truly think about yourself rather than feeling sorry for yourself."

His words deeply resonated with her. The next day, Nayeli had enough strength to leave the bed and look out the window. Outside, she peered at the variety of the world that she had come to know and imagined the other various places she had been to. She had done so much with her life, but what was she supposed to do now?

Rather than thinking of the creatures or herself, she hobbled on the streets of the village. She watched everyone and everything around her -- dogs running beside small children, women holding babies in their arms, men returning after a long night or leaving for a long day. Some of the people were even artisans and craftsmen -- spinning wool, creating clay sculptures, even painting on an easel. For once, Nayeli realized there was more to life than violence.

In fact, life was all about living it to the fullest. Appreciating every little thing that is given. Loving one another and loving yourself.

prompt:Unfortunately, Griffin, almost supernaturally, attracts bad luck. All of his scrapes and scars are from run ins with everything from tripping and falling on his face, to falling pianos. If you can think up something bad that could ever happen to someone, Griffin had probably been through it. He almost got hit my a meteor once! Not to mention that one time he almost drowned after getting a bucket stuck on his head. Though even though Griffins bad luck affects him, and everyone around him, he still has his friends to make sure a tire doesn't fall off a passing car and crush him. He manages to stay happy and optimistic through out all of his ordeals, proving he is in fact a champion.

In the silence and the rest, her heart twisted and wrenched as she thought of what she had lost, if she had even had it to begin with.

What she had taken.

What had she done?

To adjust to a world she had never know,

That was her greater challenge yet.
