The Starsweep Valley region is a lush sort of place- from the ancient forests creeping about the foothills of the mountains, to the broad valley meadows and plains speckled with countless blooming things and little hollows, surely there should be enough to satisfy any dog’s desires to explore, right? But perhaps it’s this sense of familiarity that leaves Proserpine so enthusiastic to explore the western coast’s shores- they are distant enough that the trips there are rare, and stretch so far that they hold an alluring mystery- sure, the forests and mountains and hills are neat, but she can always ask Crypt or Merry about those, but the seaside is her place, the discoveries there her special secrets. She has unearthed rotted planks that, even under the smell of sand and tide, carry the scent of far-off lands beyond the horizon, seen the way the mist hides all things- scent, sight and sound all muddled so that she can only creep along, wondering if that shape is a formation of stone or some creature lying in wait- until perhaps the sun finally melts it away, or the wind scatters it. There are all sorts of strange plants washed up (the most impressive having been one of the enormous trees from the forests some ways south), trinkets and oddities; it’s never quite the same place twice, and Proserpine dreams of exploring further up and down the rocky beaches to see what other mysteries are hidden there... especially, perhaps, to find the source of the sweeping light she sees, some misty nights...

Favorite Place: cordelia loves to explore old ruins! there is a castle ruin near the place where she lives and she absolutely loves sniffing around everywhere and discovering tunnels and dark corners she can put her snout in. sometimes she had regretted pushing her nose into a dark hole because she has been frightened by a rat squeaking and getting agressive at her but she is quick to forget, her nosy self being stronger than her fear. old ruins smell so differently from any other places that cordelia has been so she always welcomes a trip to them to challenge herself. plus, she has quite the cool and mysterious stories to tell the other dogs as soon as she comes back.

Name: FMK's Wayside Wanderer aka " Casanova"

Favorite Place: Casanova is always getting loose and on the run but he's always found in the same spot. Near Farrowmoor there's a trail next to the river that leads to a cavern. It's an old mineshaft that leads to the top of a snowy mountain that rarely melts. Up on the mountain there's all sights to see and wildlife scent trails. There's an old ghost town where some buildings can be entered. Whether he's found or returns on his own, it's not uncommon for leaves, sticks and flowers to cling to his long fur. Occasionally, a trinket he found in the town.

Favorite Place: There is a lake near his owner's property and Elisha likes to explore within the waters. He's been a swimming dog since he was young, and enjoys diving down, grabbing things he finds in the water, and bringing it back to his owner. There's been some attempts at dissuading him from this - he likes to drop whatever he's found near or on one of his owners, and no one really likes to be relaxing out in the grass and have their dog drop a fish with no warning on their face.

Favorite Place: during the winter and fall, West's favorite place is the old barn down the road. because of a hole in the roof, leaves and snow fall in and create a nice pile for him to jump in. West loves hiding his toys in the snow mounds and chasing his mice friends in the leaves. during spring and summer, this sweet boy enjoys swimming across the lake and playing on the docks. his favorite place is sleeping on our boat and watching all the mallards swim past.

Favorite Place: Balor enjoys wandering onto the nearby housing construction site every night at sunset if the sky is clear from pesky clouds. He jumps from box to box to get up to the undeveloped second floor of a rather large skeleton of a house. This house sits on the edge of a cliff and overlooks a large lake. The house is surrounded by wise old oak trees and sits amongst nature's beauty. Once he is situated among the sawdust and remnants, he watches the sun slowly set among the horizon. Before darkness sets in, he scurries back down his makeshift stairwell of boxes to start on his way back home.

Favorite Place: It's a bit of a hike, but Wolf likes to explore the canyon a little ways off from her ranch. It full of dusty red sand and crumbling rocks, but the most exciting part is the caves. Being a dog, she can squirm her way into crevasses that are too narrow for people, though she might tangle up her fur in the process. She once found a cave full of shiny white rocks that sparkled when the little beam of light coming from a crack in the ceiling hit them. She brought one back and now it sits proudly beside her bed at home.

Favorite Place: Aspens favorite place to explore are the white forests of Aspen trees in his home state of Colorado, where his name comes from. He prefers going hiking with his owner in fall when the trees turn a vibrant yellow. Occasionally he will spot a majestic elk or a large bald eagle soaring above the mountains.
