ver cursed under his breath as the decrepit box tore, bursting at the seams as old time-stained papers flooded forth with the force and thunder of a waterfall. at her concerned cry, he called down from the attic and assured his grandmother everything was fine. removing the last straggler pages from the now ruined box, ver quickly began gathering up his grandfather's things. ledger sheets, a few photographs, all shoved back into a pile in the best time he could make. and then his hands fell onto something different. the slip looked as though it must've been from some strange kind of notebook, the extra lines didn't mean a thing to him, but time had almost entirely worn them away as it was. the ink, too, was desperately faded. but it didn't fit in. the handwriting was juvenile, and it looked so old...

he flipped the page back and forth, and while he could see no name, he supposed it could only have belonged to his grandfather. he stared at it for a long moment, then set it aside. gathering up the rest of the papers, he got back to work clearing out the attic. but the little slip rested atop his phone, running in the back of his mind as time passed and he grew more and more determined to complete the list his grandfather never had.

list: On the small table next to the cafe, you spot a piece of paper fluttering in the warm spring breeze. It's weighted down by a dark-colored stone - on closer inspection, you see that it's a geode, the swirling blue interior shining in the bright sunshine. Overcome by curiosity, you sit down at the table and pull the paper closer, looking at the neat, looping handwriting on it.

Rayon's Spring Bucket List is lettered on top, underlined several times with force.

1. Actually plant my garden this year!!!
2. See the cherry blossoms
3. Go on a picnic and eat sandwiches in the park : )
4. Open a lemonade stand, and actually make money this time
5. Spend one Entire Day outside!!
6. Camping
7. Visit the state fair!!
8. Get a strawberry cake at the famous bakery across town that's always sold out
9. Buy some flowers every week for the apartment ♥

Though you're curious about what the last item could've been, you push the paper back into its original spot on the table and smile, watching it flutter continuously. Whoever this Rayon was, they were sure to have a fun spring season...

Peureux is admittedly a bit of a scaredy cat. One night with a friend they figured hey, maybe this is the time to start stepping out of their comfort zone. So they made a list of things they want to do before the year is up!
