Vaerik is a shadow beast in the form of a snake. In shadow creature language, his name means "hidden flame". Shadow beasts are bigger in size than most shadow creatures, and are usually designated to lead attacks. Vaerik had run away, not wanting to fight. He took a few shadow creatures with him that also wished to not be apart of the fighting. The shadow creatures learned about circuses and started one of their own, and chose Vaerik as their ringmaster.
