Cat Name: Blaze
Gender: Male
Rank: Guardian
Clan: The Unknown
Age: Four years
Prompt:
It hurt Blaze to look at Pebble. So much he resembled his mother.
True, he had inherited the marking on his face from him, but the colour and the stripes on his legs were all Amber.
Oh, how he missed her. Sometimes, when Pebble asked him questions, curious about the sun and the stars and always willing to learn, he felt his chest tighten, leaving him unable to breathe.
Most of the time he was glad that Amber lived on in their son, and knew she was smiling down on them from wherever she was now. But sometimes he also wished that Pebble would not remind him of her with every word he said, every silly quirk, every tilt of his head.
In every gesture, Blaze saw his first, last, and only love of his life.
The kit did not recall much of her, as she had died early in his time in this world, but Blaze looked forward to the day Pebble would be old enough to understand death and passing away and they would be able to reminisce together.
Until then, he would be there for Pebble and protect him with his life.

Age: Five months and a bit
Prompt:
Pebble knew there was something wrong with Blaze. His father always looked at him with pain in his eyes, even though he smiled and told stories and tussled with him and told him that everything was fine when he asked.
Pebble saw through that.
In the beginning, he had wondered if he had done anything wrong, if he had given his father any reasons to be cross or disappointed.
Yet, there were also moments the two of them had shared where Blaze had seemed genuinely happy, laughing with his eyes, and purring from the heart.
The kit felt that there must be something different, something deeper and possibly darker, that his father was not yet ready to talk about.
In his dreams he sometimes saw flashes of another life, earlier, and felt a rough tongue cleaning him, a voice telling him that he was loved, amber eyes staring into his, surrounded by fur the same colour as his. Pebble had not told Blaze about this, sensing that his father would not react too well.
Until Blaze would be ready to share about their shared past, Pebble would be there for him and protect him with everything he had.
