The Aegean Angora was developed from the Turkish Angora on a small island in the Aegean Sea. Several Turkish Angoras were brought to this island, and as they multiplied they quickly outnumbered the human inhabitants. After generations, the cats developed distinct characteristics that distinguished them from their ancestral breed. The most iconic feature of this breed is their heavily feathered ears, which are present on all coat types.

Morning Routine:
The Tender Viridity Cattery, where Sonnet lives, prides themselves on their facility's ability to mimic an outdoor environment while keeping their cats completely safe and indoors. Sonnet is given a quiet forest to call home, complete with a running brook and small automated creatures such as mice and birds to hunt when the owners of the Cattery are away.

The red tabby starts each day with a bath, just as the soft lights above slowly switch from silvery night-time light to first the soft light of dawn, and then the watery blue of morning. Once he is pleased with how clean he is, he takes a walk down to the brook, where he can drink clean, fresh water. He sometimes spends a bit of time here, splashing lazily at the stream. Eventually, he will meander down to the food bowls near the doorway, which are refilled fresh each morning. Also near the entrance is a cat door, which leads into a cat-only path that connects each cat's enclosure to the rest of the building that they are allowed into.

After his breakfast, Sonnet will usually stroll down the cat paths to the main room of the house, where he can get all the attention and strokes he likes from one of the elderly folk who usually are sitting there, watching the television. Their gentle hands and soft voices always make him feel safe and loved.

Sunshine's morning routine always starts a bit late... he can't fall asleep easily at night (it's too exciting out there with the fireflies and twinkling stars!) so by the time he wakes up, the day is already well underway. The clinking of the morning food bowls doesn't even awaken him, so by the time he gets up out of his fluffy, cozy bed, his first mission is to go from bowl to bowl and lap up anything that remains of the other cat's meals. This always gets the humans to take notice and come bring a fresh bowl just for him.

He isn't awake yet when the beautiful birds outdoors begin their morning songs, however he loves to watch them fly by out the window and wash themselves in the bird bath out back. It's absolutely stunning, the way the light shines off their feathers and droplets splash about all around them. This gets him so worked up that he needs to burn off some energy!

He used to scratch his way through the screens and romp outside in the gardens but now the screens have been replaced with secure metal ones, so he frolics and plays with the catnip mice indoors until it is time for his walk. He gets fitted into his harness and then gets to explore the property while safely on a leash, almost like a dog would.

And this concludes a morning in the life of Sunshine!
