Username: quirky;
Lambicorn name: Mathi (May thee | Hebrew to fit the theme)
Gender: Demigirl
Prompt: [ 302 words ]
Mathi never slept. It was kind of meditating to regain energy. Which, by most standards, would be considered sleeping. However, Mathi didn't live or act by most standards, as she was a guard to someone's heart. One peculiar morning, the host was eating their usual sugary breakfast cereal. Of course, Mathi had to slash away the oncoming blobs of cholesterol and chemicals. The day went on as normal; the host went to school, Mathi stabbed at bored and despairing thoughts, and the host went home depleted of energy. Their mother approached them with a grim gaze. The Mishmar thought this odd, as she was almost always smiling and joking. The parent moved her mouth in words that Mathi never bothered deciphering so she stood rigid, awaiting an attack of bad emotions. When the parent was done, the host crumpled to the ground, offsetting the Mishmar's footing. What was happening? Suddenly, large, gooey blobs of black matter appeared in front of the guard. Finally, a battle! Mathi leaped and slashed, dodged and cut. After a couple of waves of enemies, something came over her. A strange feeling that made her want to put down her weapon and submit to the blobs. This is...not right. This isn't my job. I must protect this child! The feeling changed, and Mathi realized that perhaps these blobs were good. They made the host stronger. More resilient. Mathi relaxed her footing, and nodded to the blobs, who rushed through the guard. She was overwhelmed with toxic, dense grief and pain. Pain for a lost relative. A grandfather. The blobs disappeared into the host's heart as fast as they had appeared. Mathi had done something different. Unique to her usual bland routine. This host's life is gonna get a whole lot more interesting, thought the Mishmar, mischievously. She smirked.
