what do they think about celebrations? A time to give red envelopes!!!
The most important thing is not the money, but the red paper of the red envelope itself
RED symbolizes happiness and fortune, thus wrapping your money in red is a way of blessing the receivers
When Hongbao was a child, he used to receive red envelopes, but now as an adult, it's his turn to continue the tradition & give back
On CNY, he hands out red envelopes to every child in the village, only asking for an auspicious new years greeting in return
Some popular CNY greetings include:
(a) 恭喜發財,紅包拿來 (gōngxǐ fācái, hóngbāo ná lái) - Wishing you happiness and prosperity; give me a red envelope.
(b) 年年有餘 (niánnián yǒuyú) - Surplus year-after-year
(c) 身體健康 (shēntǐ jiànkāng) - Enjoy good health
(d) 吉祥如意 (jíxiáng rúyì) - Good fortune according to your wishes
And more greetings in line with the year of the Ox: 牛 (niǔ) means "ox"
(e) 牛氣沖天 (niǔqì chōngtiān) - Wishing you the "Chi" of being great reaches up to the heaven. No one is able to stop that.
(f) 牛轉乾坤 (niǔzhuǎn qiǎnkūn) - Wishing you turning all bad things around, into a good brand new world.
xxx"niǔ" 牛 in this phrase is used as a pun, which has two meanings: "to turn around" 扭轉 and "ox" 牛轉

name; fuuka (from japanese 風 [fuu] meaning "wind" combined with 花 [ka] meaning "flower, blossom" or 香 [ka] meaning "fragrance" credit)
what do they think about celebrations?
celebrations are like... a box of chocolates. said box can be cheap or expensive, but holds a lot of goodness inside. on the contrary, inside the box, there are a handful of chocolates that are delectable and others that are... not so delectable. good thing is, you can pick and choose which ones you wanna eat! or in the case of celebrations, you can go to the ones that are most enjoyable to you, and that will make you most happy, while avoiding the ones you dislike.
fortunately, fuuka likes a lot of different types of chocolates, so there aren't many that he shies away from. (dark chocolate is especially immaculate to his taste buds. if you were curious, that's the equivalent of a birthday party!)
what's fun is that you can also make all sorts of chocolates yourself, and although the outcome may be... questionable, other people might think they're absolutely delicious and want more! (which is what fuuka would absolutely wish for all people hosting their own celebrations-- others will have a blast, and you'll host more!)

what do they think about celebrations?
a commemoration of sorts , in which they meander through the crowds of children and parents and lovers and eternal companions , silently adorned with a solemn expression. there was something beautiful and wistfully stagnant that always lingered at the tail ends of festivities - linger sorrows and remembrances of bittersweet departures.
celebrations were as filled with nothing as they were with everything - an ironic oxymoron ; an unfilled fullness. and like the roses that adorned their body , sharp in thorn and weak of petal - appealing in their meaning , their color , and unable to last in either - the celebrations would end just as easily.
yǒnglíng did not entertain themselves within the festivities , but in the aftermath of such celebratory fashions , there would always be someone who must clean the messes of joy , or sorrow , or love - so be it as such that it was not as though they had much else to do than that.
and on each day following , there would always come another celebration , another cycle , and another rose would grow.
(is this perhaps too late , i do not know. i only wish it is not so.)
