    Clan link: Thistleclan
    Relationship Explored: Hawkmoth x Willowbreeze
    Image/Writing:

    It was a cool spring day. Hawkmoth is one of the travelers in Thistleclan, which means he goes out on expeditions scouting out nearby lands for herbs or enemies. Today was the first morning in the mountains. Sorrelstar insisted he go to explore them if he was curious, so he did. The first day trying to get up was a treacherous journey. The falling rocks, river and steep drops were all big obstacles, but ones that he did manage to cross. His first night was spent under a pine tree, with nothing but a mouse to eat.

    Early the next morning, he woke up with a surprise waiting for him. A tuft of cream velvety fur. Cat smell. It was almost entoxicating. He followed the scent trail of the tuft of fur to a cave. The opening was enough for a badger to fit through, and smelled strongly of cats. He stepped in to investigate what was on the other side would blow him away.

    The small cave opened up to this utopian camp. It was gorgeous! There was a river running down the middle, pine's scattered about and even more caves that appeared to be dens. The cats in the camp looked confused to see him standing there. For one, he had a sleeker build. These cats were much stockier than him. He stood there, waiting for someone to question him or address him, and one eventually did. It was this gorgeous cream she-cat, and smelled like the bit of fur he found earlier. She approached him cautiously.

    "H-hello. Who are you?"

    "My name is Hawkmoth. I'm from the forest down the mountain."

    "Ah I see. They call me Willow that Sways in Breeze."

    Even her name was gorgeous, he thought.
    She studied him from all sides, and then came to face him once more.

    "Come. You must speak to our leader." Her words snapped Hawkmoth back into reality.

    "Ah, coming!" he said as he followed the beauty to the den.

    The den wasn't as cold or bleak as he would've though, for it being in a cave. There was a cat laying down in the back, a black tom by the looks of it.

    "Slate, I believe the tom you spoke of has arrived. He matches the description." she murmured to the old tom.

    The tom grunted a response, and stretched out of his nest. He walked to Hawkmoth and studied him.
    "Yes, this is him. I feared this day would come soon, but it must be done."

    Hawkmoth widened his eyes. "Must be done? Just what is this sack of bones going on about?"

    The black tom stood up. "Let's bring him to the center of camp. We have to make sure everyone can witness this."

    Hawkmoth swallowed back fear, wondering what could happen next. Next thing you know, he was in the center of their camp, standing on a tree stump.

    The old tom spoke to the crowd of cats. "Cat's of the Mountain Tribe, today is the day of rejoice. Our savior has finally arrived!

    Hawkmoth furrowed his brow. "What now? I'm not your-"

    The tom cut him off. "Don't worry, young one. You may not know what you have to do now, but the stars will show you the way. Willow, get the group ready. Go out, and find a new home for yourselves."

    He dismissed the group. Willow walked up to Hawkmoth. "Please, take this." She dropped a bird at his feet. "Eat, be ready for the journey ahead. I can't wait for it to start, you are the one I've been dreaming of for moons." She bowed, and ran to one of the dens.

    She returned within a few mintues with a couple of she-cats with her. One was a brown tabby, the other was a tortie. All three of them looked exited to be going on this journey with him, so they set out as soon as the sun rose again.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    While walking, Willow came up to Hawkmoth, who was in the lead.
    "So, tell me about yourself. Where do you come from exactly?"
    Hawkmoth gulped. She's talking to me again! "Well, you see, I come from a clan. To be honest, it's quite like your "tribe". We live in a group, and hunt for one another. It's like one big family."
    Willow nodded. "I see, so we aren't so different at all. That's good to know." She said with a smile.
    Hawkmoth chuckled. "Yea, that's nice..." he paused. "The only issue is that, I don't really have anyone to share my life with. Other than my older brother."
    "Well, you can share your life with me. You seem really kind. You didn't have ill intentions when you arrived to our camp, and you even went through with something that you had no idea was even real. That's good empathy."
    Hawkmoth was flustered. "Really? You... think so? I'm glad."
    Willow smiled at him. "I'm glad as well. Shall we keep walking, Hawkmoth?"
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    On the second day of traveling back, they had finally reached the base of the mountain. Willow and Hawkmoth had spent a large amount of time telling each other life stories, and sharing feelings with each other. Things were going remarkably well. As they walked through the forest, Hawkmoth smelled some familiar scents. A patrol was heading this way! He walked carefully as to not disturb the patrol.

    "Hey guys! I'm back, and with friends."

    The patrol of 4 widened their eyes. They exchanged their welcomes, greeted the new she-cats and escorted them back to camp.

    Sorrelstar was there waiting. She approached the group and greeted her warrior. "Hello, Hawkmoth. Welcome back. Care to..." she gave the she-cats another glance. "explain what you've brought back to us?"

    Hawkmoth gulped. "Well you see, I travelled for a couple days up the mountain, to find a tribe of cats living there. So, I investigated and apparently I was a part of this prophecy that said that I needed to take these three down the mountain with me, so that they could live a better life."

    Sorrelstar nodded. "Hmm.. Starclan told me that the clan would soon receive a gift of three. That they can teach us things about life that we would otherwise be a stranger to. Fantastic! Now, Show them to the warriors den. We prepared extra nests while you were gone. Show them to the prey pile as well."
    Sorrelstar greeted each she-cat, then went back to her den.

    A large brown tabby tom trotted over to Hawkmoth.
    "Hawkmoth! Welcome back!" he said as he greeted him eagerly.

    "How's it going, Briarstripe? Keeping the clan safe while I'm away?" he said, bumping him with a paw.

    "You bet. Tell me about those cats you brought in! That pale one keeps giving you these sideways glances." he said with a smirk.

    Hawkmoth cleared his throat. "It's not like that, furball."

    Briarstripe scoffed. "Sureeeeee. So you're just acting flustered and embarrassed for no reason, huh?"

    Hawkmoth flexed his claws, pouting. "Tch, it's none of your business anyways!"

    Briarstripe howled with laughter. "Ok then, kiddo. Oh, she's walking here now. Good luck~" He said in teasing tone as he walked off.

    Hawkmoth gasped. He turned to see her smile at him. "Come, let's share a meal! This place is so lovely."

    They both walked over to the prey pile, and decided to share a trout. While eating, Hawkmoth exchanged some stories with Willow, telling her about the wonders of clan life. She listened with earnest, absorbing every detail.

    After eating, Hawkmoth led her to the warriors den, and she slept in a nest right next to his.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Over time, Hawkmoth and Willow became good friends. They spent a lot of time together, just being happy. He often gave Willow gifts, which she gladly accepted and cherished. Hawkmoth was falling more in love with each passing day, and the same could be said for Willow. It was obvious they loved each other, just the glances they give each other say more than words.
    Hawkmoth needed to speak these words out loud though. If he didn't he would burst. He loved her to ends of this world, and wanted to let her know. So, he planned a nice evening with her, after patrols. Now, just to wait for a day with perfect weather...
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    It has been 4 moons since they first met. Hawkmoth and Willow have been getting close, and Hawkmoth decided it was time to confess. Between his warrior duties, he always found time for her no matter. Tonight he was going to prove it. He set up everything at the lake already, the only thing left was to bring her.

    He walked over to her, who was sitting on the sunning rocks, grooming herself. She looked up and him and greeted him with a beaming smile. "Hello! It's a beautiful day, isn't it?"

    He chuckled. "It is. Almost as gorgeous as you, you know." She purred.

    "Ah, don't embarrass me Hawkmoth!" Even though she said this, she did like the compliment.

    "Here, I have something to show you. Come with me!" he said as he bounced toward the entrance. Willow followed close behind. Hawkmoth eagerly guided her towards the lake, not being able to contain his excitement.

    "Close your eyes, we're almost there." Hawkmoth told her. She closed her eyes, waiting to see what surprise was in store.

    In just a few steps, they had arrived. "Open your eyes, Willow."

    She opened her eyes to see some prey, and lots of flowers. They were her favorite flowers, forget-me-nots. She looked at the beautiful array and turned to him.

    "Did you do all this... for me?"

    "I sure did. I did it because I wanted to show you how much I loved you. I loved you since the moment I laid eyes on you."

    Her eyes widened. "I did too! I really wanted to tell you but didn't know when. Guess that time is now."

    "Yes, that time is now. I love you, Willow."

    "I love you too, Hawkmoth."

    And they ended their night by sharing a rabbit and sleeping under the stars.

Relationship Explored: Nico and Honey
Image/Writing:
Honey would do anything for Nico, and she knew that Nico would do everything for her. The bond that connected the two of them was deeper than anything she had ever encountered before, deeper than anything she had thought possible when she was young.
Life had never been easy for her, but Nico had always made it bearable. If it had not been for him, she was not sure if she would even be alive anymore.
When the nights were cold and her mate asleep already, she sometimes thought about her old life. The memories often left her shaking, but even after many seasons she could not rid herself of them completely. At least she did not wake up shaking and sweating anymore, having dreamt of being back. She had always made sure that Nico was not able to see her like this. She was ashamed for having been so weak, it had been him who had given her the courage to run when her parents had wanted to trade her away for their protection.
She had always felt that the Ruler had had his eye on her, back in the forest where she had lived with her parents and where she had met Nico. His gaze would follow her when she walked by, and his cronies would make nasty noises at her and exchange knowing looks when they knew she was just in hearing range.
There had been one occasion when she had been outside on her own where the Ruler had cornered her, far away from her parents. She had been able to flee, but the memory still made her tremble. When her parents had announced that she was to be given to him as a mate, she had been too stressed to eat until Nico had asked her to run away with him.

In the beginning, it had not been easy. Though her parents had demonstrated that they valued her lower than they did themselves several times, she missed them terribly. They had been all she had known, as had the forest in which she had lived. In her four seasons she had learned all its secrets and it hurt to have to leave it all behind. She knew that she would never be able to return as long as the Ruler was still alive.
So, they had run, far away into territories neither of them had ever been to.
Over time, they had grown closer together, their crushes developing into true love and respect for each other. Nico had shown her how to hunt, and she had taught him how to read the skies and the stars and how to find water.
They completed each other and had never needed anyone else. She would give her life for him and knew that he would give his.

They had found and lost a home in a cave near a shore after half a season of travelling, forced to flee again after a band of rogues had closed in. Nico was still limping a bit from their last encounter with the strangers.
Now, they were in a seemingly safe space again, though it was still too early to judge whether they would be able to make a life here.
Honey desperately hoped so. Nico and she needed a place to stay, soon. Her mate was not as worried as she was, but he she had not told him the truth.
Today would be they day she did, though.

--

“Get up, sleepyhead,” Honey whispered, gently nudging Nico’s shoulder.
Nico only grumbled, turning around in his nest. Huffing, Honey gently grabbed a feather from her own nest between her teeth and slowly touched her mate’s nose with it.
Success! He sneezed a few times and finally opened his eyes to glare at her.
“Have I ever told you how annoying you are?” he snarled, a low purr and a twinkle in his eyes betraying his words. Honey stuck out her tongue before stepping towards the cave exit.
“Come on, let us get out of here. Maybe we can catch some prey before everything goes to sleep for the winter.”
She stuck her head out through the vines that covered the exit and was glad for the protection the greenery provided, as it was cold outside, and a cool breeze made her fold back her ears.
“Yeah, yeah,” Nico said behind her, noisily getting up and pushing through the exit after her.
“Has it been this cold last year, too?” he asked, puffing up his fur.
Honey smiled at him and licked his forehead affectionately. “You sound like a moody kit. Let us check if there is anything to eat before we head out, shall we?”
Side by side, their bodies brushing against each other, they made their way over to the small cave where they kept their prey, picking out and sharing a small vole.

After that, they made their way through the barricade of brambles and decided to follow the stream up for a while to see if there were any animals close by the water.
Honey kept glancing over at Nico, nervous and unsure as to how best approach the topic she wanted to talk to him about. She knew he would be delighted, ecstatic even, but still she felt a bit of anxiety.
They had a makeshift home now with Void and Akemi, but how long would that last? They had thought they had been safe before, and then it had all been taken away. Who knew if they could trust these two?
“Hey, Honey,” Nico interrupted her thoughts. “What are you fretting about?”
Honey startled; her worries interrupted momentarily. “Oh, nothing. It’s just …”
Her mate slowed down and pressed close to her. “I know, it’s all so much, right? New cats, new territory, winter approaching. But no one said it would be easy.”
Sighing, she entwined her tail with his. “I just wish that we finally had a place where we knew that we could stay and be safe. Especially with…” she tapered off, unsure what to say.
“Especially with what?” Nico asked her, his eyes fixed on hers.
Honey escaped his gaze, focussing instead on a yellow leaf that was slowly circling to the ground behind Nico’s shoulder, pondering whether she should lie to him. But no, she could not do that to him. She loved him too much.
“Especially with the kits,” she whispered.
Her mate stared at her for a second. “The kits,” he repeated, before taking a step back. Then his whole face lit up in joy. “The kits! Oh, the kits!”
Nico rubbed his head with hers and then nosed her belly. “Hello there! I cannot wait to meet you!”
Honey purred and dodged. “Hey, that tickles!”
“Oh, right, sorry,” her mate said, looking a bit sheepish. “Since when have you known?”
“A while,” she admitted. “I did not know how to tell you.”
“You know that you can tell me anything, though, right? I will always be there for you, no matter what. And I promise you that we and our kits will be alright, just you wait and see.”
She nodded; glad he was taking the news so well. At the same time, she did not know why she had been so nervous only a few moments ago. In her heart she had already known that it had been right to tell him, and that he would be there for her, even in changing times such as these.
As long as she had him, all would work out well, eventually, and she looked forward to raising the kits with him.

"The flower of emotions bloom in a short moment
It passes the perfect start,

without any dirtiness A strange blue light digs deep,
a dizzy mysteric..."

Lyrics of 'Love is Four Walls by f(x)"

♥ ♥ ♥ ░░░▒▒▒▓▓▓▓▓▒▒▒░░░ ♥ ♥ ♥

The clan was built on a hill, a hill that was manufactured by two-legs long before the cats had claimed the territory. Records indicate dwarves built up the land, Hobbits have tilled the land, and humans have driven the land dry. A tall looming tree shades the grassy knoll with what seems to be an unknown consistent melody. Soft and unwavering bells, and chimes that ring, and echo every dawn, and every dusk. The cats are covered faithfully by a winding cherry tree that's always in full bloom.

A strange creature, tall and looming, dark in skin color, humanoid at that but not quite human, sit in the tree and gazes down with ruby-colored eyes and fiery red hair. The creature gazes silently and quietly humming a chiming tune that can be heard by all the cats in the soft burrows below. The clan will stir awake, rising their heads, and breath slowly to the new air of the day. Unaware of what roused their sleep.

The leader of the clan sleeps in the highest den, snuggled by soft leaves, dead grass, and scents of lavender. The den he chose is small, but not cramped, easy to see the others at quick glance, but hidden away enough by stalagmites, moss, and other shrubberies so that privacy is easily obtained. The golden cat raises his head proudly, unashamed of the scars that have torn his ear, and runs down his face. SunStar gazes slowly outside his den to pear at his home, watching all the cats begin to gather for the morning sharing of tongues.

SunStar is a loyal cat, a strong leader, and a focused provider. He isn't one to just waltz out of his den to give orders right away as the sun has only risen, nor is he one to wait for someone to tend to him hand and foot. The golden cat watches quietly. Patiently pearing out into the center of the camp where a dip in the land forms an unusual oval of medium to short grass. Cats of all shapes and sizes gather in this area slowly in different groups. They all walked towards a pile of food centered at the cove, and one by one, they grabbed the desired morsel. One particular cat was grabbing multiple, but this was to be divvied up to the queens, apprentices, and elders.

After a good moment, when most of the edibles were gone, Sun rose from his sitting and sauntered towards the pile himself, but before he could, a shorthaired kitty approached him. There was a small dead pile of fur clinging to his maw. It was of decent size, and was clearly plump enough to share with another cat. The feline presenting to the leader was a small black tabby of thick markings and a lack of any scaring. The tom had bright golden eyes. He stared at the leader intently, and dropped the rabbit at Sun's feet.

A long silence fell before the two. The cats would stare deeply at each other in an unmoving calm for a distant time. There would be nothing but breathing, blinking, and hearts beating till one of them spoke. No flinching, studders of embarrassment. These two were well known with one another at this point, and would cease to avoid any form of clumsiness. The breathing slowed, and Sun leaned down to begin his meal, understanding that Crow wouldn't speak till he relaxed.

Crowmask, the black cat, and deputy of the clan finally spoke up. His voice was tender, soft, and gentle. "I know you're worried." The words came out so smooth, so easily. It was relaxing. "At least, if you aren't I am."

It took a moment between the two, but Sun wasn't ignoring his fellow companion. Simply, the tom was giving his words extra thought before displaying them outright. "I am." The leader's voice was rough, and clearly been worn through the years, but there was kindness, a friendliness of sorts to it.

The two's faces contorted at each other in difficulty. Crow would glance around often between bites, but they said little to the other. Calmly enjoying the presence of the other cat was all either of them wanted, or could ever need. A slight purr could be heard from the yellow feline. He was finished with his fill of food and was intently watching his closest friend before begining to clean the pelt of Crow.

A whisper came from Sun as they shared tongues. "You mustn't be the one to worry, I carry the burden of the clan, not you. I will always keep it safe." The purring continued as he listened to his comrade.

"I will never let you carry any burden alone."

Both of them had finished at this point, and were almost nuzzling there faces amongst one another. The two of them followed the path away from the clan, and over a rocky knoll that lied behind the cherry tree. staring off into the distance, Crow laid his head on his leaders shoulders. The leader didn't argue, the two of them just stared off into the distance as the horizon got brighter and brighter. Daylight was shortly among them and no one dared disturb the new day. Not even the morning birds could ruin the big field of blue, the endless hills of green evergreens in the distance, and the warm sun beating down on the earth.

Image
No words needed to be said, no actions needed to be taken. It was to obvious to ignore, disturb, or even try to change. The two of them were happy, and in love.

    Clan link: Fireborne
    Relationship Explored: Quietfire's [seemingly] unrequited crush on Thistleclaw
    Image/Writing:

    Quietfire:

    Quietfire trots alongside Thistleclaw as she sniffs the ground. She takes her job so seriously, he thinks, it's… extremely admirable. Not that he doesn’t take his position in the clan seriously, not at all- she is just… so dedicated to her clan, it makes him go starry-eyed.

    “Quietfire.” she scolds, a gentle edge to her voice, “You need to help me patrol, y’know... what Fireblossom told us to do?”

    Quietfire snaps back into focus, and nods at her. “Uh- yeah. Sorry.” he says, looking around and breathing in deeply, not smelling anything beyond the clan and some prey too far away to care about. He glances at her every so often, just as a way to ‘check in’ on her, make sure she’s okay and still as beautiful as ever- he shakes his head, trying to banish those thoughts from his mind. She is his friend. That is all.

    She turns to look at him, her fur all but glistening in the moonlight, a determined look on her face. A look he has seen many times, and loves more every time.

    Thistleclaw:

    Quietfire is looking at her again, not that she minds it, but it can be unnerving in the dead of night with no sounds abound save for their breathing and hushed conversations, and the occasional rustle of the sparse desert brush that they are crouched in.

    She shoots him a glare and he looks away, a focused look on his face. This is confusing for a moment until she hears it too, the unmistakable sound of a desert hare. She shoots him an excited glance, one that reads ‘Should we do it?’, a look she has shot him many times, the one he returns is an unmistakable ‘Yes’. She doesn’t hesitate to switch from ‘patrol-mode’ to ‘hunt-mode’, heading quickly towards the sound of the hare, her ears at full alert.

    She heads quickly towards the sound of the hare, her trusted hunting partner following in tow.

    They spot the hare a few yards away from them, and they slowly advance towards it, that is, until the hare starts to bolt and both cats jump. A highly undignified scuffle ensues, and the hare bites Thisleclaw out of desperation before they manage to take it down.
    She is breathing heavily, and the bite on her back burns, but it is overloaded by the adrenaline of taking down an entire hare, just the two of them.

    “Your back.” Quietfire breaks the electricity-filled silence, pointing out the obvious. Honestly, Thistleclaw had hardly noticed it. It hadn’t really been enough time since the fight for her to really acknowledge the pain she was in. It wasn’t much, but it sure was bleeding a fair amount.

    She shakes her head, “It doesn’t hurt, it’s not very deep, but I’ll have Briarbelly look at it when we get back to camp. It should be fine.”

    Quietfire:
    He can hardly believe that the two of them managed to take down such a large prey, pure adrenaline rushing through his body at the thought that the two of them managed to do so, seasoned hunters as they are.

    She is glowing, beyond excited that they managed to do this, just the two of them, Starclan is surely on their side tonight.

    “Thistleclaw, this is... monumental.” he muses, “this will be a hearty meal for the clan.” he says, his voice feels heavy with joy, from being with her and from the bounty they are bringing back to the clan.

    Her laugh rings out in the quiet night, “Monumental? Quietfire, I appreciate the sentiment but- it’s a hare! We’ve gotten a few before with the hunting party.” she points out.

    If he could blush, he would have, instead his fur poofs out a bit and he shakes his head, “No- I mean- It was just the two of us.” he instantly regrets it as soon as it comes out, and jumps to take back his words, “I mean- we did it alone- it’s pretty cool-”

    She goes quiet for a moment, “I get it.” she says quietly, sounding a bit saddened by his words, though her words turn chipper soon afterwards, “ ‘Pretty cool?’ that doesn’t sound like the Quietfire I know, he who oh so carefully chooses his words.” she quips.

    The cat of few sounds is once again at a loss for words, though this time it isn’t because he has nothing to say. He stares at her, for a long time, as they enter the camp with the rabbit, and a lot is left unsaid.

    --

    Hours later, they are settling down in the warrior den near the mouth of the cave. He starts to slowly groom himself, wetting his paw to clean off his face, he starts to settle into sleep. Thisleclaw comes into the den and spots him immediately.

    “This spot taken?” she asks, her voice strained with sleep. Quietfire shakes his head, and scoots over a bit to allow her to lie down, and she all but lays down on him, snuggling closely against him, starting to groom herself.

    She finishes grooming herself and looks at him with pleading eyes, “Tell me a story, to sleep to?” she asks, and he begrudgingly nods.

    He clears his throat and begins, “There was a cat, once upon a time,” he begins, thinking about his time as a kit, with his mother telling him impromptu stories when he and his littermates had begged, “She had the most beautiful fur, and came into the clan from far away.

    She was a just kit when she came to the clan, a clan deep in the desert, and they raised her, and loved her. She grew up to be a queen of the clan, and was highly regarded, but she experienced a great loss and decided to fight to protect others, and became the right hand cat of the leader.

    She spends her days watching over her clan, and fighting to protect every cat she holds dear. She fills the clan with light, and love, and laughter. She is beloved by all.”

    When he finishes his story, Thistleclaw is fast asleep, and he knows she had fallen asleep by the first few words. He doesn’t mind though, she is his best friend after all.
