A nearby group of street performers seemed to acquire some strange looking guests in the audience! After eventually getting them to the shelter, they simply can't stop singing with eachother. They don't sound too bad considering they're dogs.

Prompt - Rockpool was born to be a farm dog, country music makes him howl his heart out. He loves his dog pals and riding in the truck. Rocky also enjoys singing Celtic folk music, but he gets stage fright when he does. Out on the farm, there's no need for a rooster, cause he serves as a wake-up alarm. Right at sunrise, his call to what seems like everyone in the world sounds more like a Garth Brooks' karaoke machine than a dog's howl. Talk about waking up with a smile!

Rocky especially loves to sing in the truck. Sometimes he will jump in the truck bed just to sing! His favorite tunes to vibe to include Garth Brooks' "The Dance," and Rita Connolley's "Ripples in the Rockpools," both from the two genres he enjoys.

Not only does he love listening to and singing country music, but he also loves to dance to it. A dancing dog doesn't look great, but his leaps and stomps are perfectly attuned with the music. If you watch him for long enough, you will realize how connected he is with the beats, and there is no doubt when it comes to his love for dance. [200 Words]

Bonus Prompt - Rockpool enjoys chatting with Ceres occasionally, but mostly they are just a singing buddy. He doesn't understand their want to be loose and free to roam, Rocky enjoys having a solid home that he can come back to every night when he gets tired. Solitude has never been Rocky's goal and therefore doesn't understand much of Ceres' personality.

Rockpool feels responsible for the little one. They are so small that it just doesn't feel right to not be constantly supportive and helpful. When Rocky feels that they are threatened, he will defend the tiny poodle with his life. He views them as vulnerable and helpless. [105 Words]

Prompt - Jazz is this dog's groove, especially sleepy jazz. A mellow, low howl with a light-hearted jazzy beat and you can know that Tomo is having the time of his life. Tomo can find opportunities in everyday life to break out in song if he feels like it. He is mostly a quiet dog unless he feels the beat of jazz running through his veins, then he is as loud as need be, even if it bothers everyone around him. The mellow, slow beat of jazz describes this dog's attitude towards life, his motto is and always will be, "If it isn't a race, it isn't a rush."

Listening to any music other than jazz can be unpleasant for him, but he can deal with practically anything as long as it doesn't sound like robots being tortured by monkeys. When other dogs sing, he may join in, but he usually lowers the tempo quite a bit.

Dancing isn't pleasant or easy for Tomo, he rarely even stands up while singing. He enjoys watching other dogs and people dance but rarely does it himself. When he is really vibing with the music he will stand up and do the most magnificent dance that you could imagine a dog doing. [207 Words]

Bonus Prompt - Tomo doesn't like talking much, except for the singing, of course, and often ends up in awkward social situations. Tomo hasn't heard that much about Ceres, but he gets a vibe from them that he just doesn't like. It might be something he picked up from other dogs, but whatever it is, it's permanently ingrained.

Tomo doesn't like the Schnauzer that much. It may just be Tomo's view on things, but he always feels like they are jumping in to protect when they don't need to and it makes making friends difficult. He finds more interest in solitude than the other two dogs allow him to have, making it uncomfortable for him, except for when he sings. [117 Words]

Living Up to His Namesake - To mo is curious in Vietnamese, and he lives up to it very well, as well as the nickname Sniffy. In a new environment, he won't settle in for a while, he always checks around. He may be curious but that doesn't make him hyper, his "spot checks" are usually slow, but always extensive. He doesn't usually get distracted but he sure takes his time while doing anything at all. His curiosity sometimes gets him into trouble, perfectly living up to the saying, "Curiosity killed hurt the cat dog," well, I guess not quite. [95 Words]

The Accident - My curiosity flowed through me as I sniffed the black pavement, I stuck my head up and barked my finds. Talking was easier back then. I found a small stone that had a bright blue color. I picked it up in my mouth and turned around, heading for the sidewalk. I only saw the car for a split second before it hit my side. The rock I was carrying fell down my throat and I am lucky I survived. I remember the vet, he was nice and pet me very frequently. Once I escaped, I found myself a home hanging out with two other dogs, one of which goes by Ceres.

I'm still trying to decide if I like the new group, but I like to stay in one place and thoroughly explore it so I have no plans on leaving anytime soon. Speaking is much harder now, so I avoid it, which often winds me up in weird situations where some dogs think I am too young to speak. I am very young, but not young in the way most people think of me. I don't miss my leg very much, but I do miss the independence I had while I was living with my mum. But when the vet took me away, I couldn't find her anymore, I was on my own. I had independence at home but I didn't have to worry about food or shelter, my mother would cover that, but now I do have to find food and it is a little nerve-racking to wake up in the morning and my first thought is, "Where will I get food today?" The Satirist's Love Song - Lemon Demon
Scotch has always been a sucker for pretty dogs of his age. A loverdog, if you will. Any song that wiggles its way into both his head and his heart is what he’ll stand by. Often, Scotch will go bound around the house, singing the newest song he’s fallen in love with. No one stops him, surprisingly. While listening to the world around him, a catchy beat made his front paw begin to tap. Within mere seconds of hearing the songs beginning, Scotch was already on his back legs, grooving like the little star he is ! After hearing The Satirists Love Song, Scotch made it his theme song, essentially. He loves love, and just wants the gorgeous cocker spaniel across the street to love him back as much as he already loves her.
It’s been a couple months of this one sided relationship, and will he give up anytime soon? No way in tennis balls and fetch.
Bonus Prompt - Ceres and Baltimore have essentially been his parental figures and friends since the day Scotch arrived at the shelter. He won’t admit it to anyone, but he had a crush on Ceres from the day he met them, and, to this day, hasn’t given up that tiny spark of hope. Regardless, he’s always looked to Baltimore for hunting techniques, survival instincts and tips, as well as many other things about being a dog. Even though the two older dogs don’t have 3 legs like himself, they found a way to help him understand that it was simpler than having all four, and that “he should be happy he doesn’t have another limb to break.” -Ceres

To which Scotch would say, “At least I’m not greying as fast as the other two in here.”
The three get along just fine, they love to mess around with each other and not let the world get the best of their lives.

felix connects deeply with this sea shanty ever since she had heard it amongst the crew. it reminds her of the night she was set free and found where she belonged. it also resonates with her deep craving for adventure and finding her destiny.

as a pup, others would try to tell felix what she could or could not do. limiting all her abilities based off of the fact that she had one less leg. it stoked her fire when all the restrictions surrounding her had snuffed out all life from her future. her dreams were filled of ruined cities from ancient times, whales breaching, the sunsetting in the desert, and thick forests yet to be discovered. untold stories that needed to be shared. stories felix desired to be hers. in her angst, she'd tear up the house and only be yelled at once more. the punishments did not scare or intimidate her and it was a vicious cycle that felix could no longer bare.

the winds battered the windows and called out for her. she could not deny the call and followed it's whispering howls to the docks. she snuck on to the ship to find refuge from the raging storm, rain pelting the ground like a thousand horses competing for the lead, loud drumming in the distance followed by flashes that lit up the night sky.

by the morning the storm had subsided and felix had long fell asleep. the crew had not found the stowaway until they well off from land. nonetheless, they welcomed her into the fold. it was the start of felix's new life, traveling from ship to ship and port to port. faces became familiar over time where after certain incidents she'd became timid with strangers. she had no bounds. always getting to make her own choices such as stealing human's lunches without mercy or smuggling other pets on the ships. no matter what tricks she managed to pull on everyone around her, the crews are always there for her when she needs a human voice to speak for her.

Bonus Prompt - a siren and a cowboy

it took her by surprise when she heard a voice carried by the wind. it hadn't called out to her since the day she broke free of her boundaries on land and found her place at sea. however, this voice was different than any she had heard before. their tune was nothing like the sea shanties she heard amongst the crews. they could not be compared and she needed to find the source. who could sing so beautifully? the entity always eluded her, despite how hard she'd try to pin them down. her problem was that they would always lead her into the city and that was foreign land to her. the humans there were simply a different breed with their morals. and to think she thought her crewmates were rude and lacked all manners. she couldn't stay for long when the dog-catchers started chasing her for vandalizing and stealing hot dogs from a meat cart. needless to say, it took her months before she was able to navigate the polluted streets. the crew often spoke of many tales. one of them being of how siren's would sing their songs to lore the men to their deaths. it made felix wonder if her entity was a siren and would it be the end of her?

felix didn't know what to expect when she finally found the treasure she had been searching endlessly for. as she came closer, she felt her soul become entranced by the entity's voice and the entity was as captivating as their voice. from that moment forth, she pledged herself to the siren and called them her god/dess. none of the gods or goddess told in human literature could compare to the siren in front of her. they were so accepting and enjoyable to be around that she almost forgot her place wasn't on land.

she would listen to ceres endlessly whenever she came to that city. learning of what it means to love others, that others do not wish to be bound as well, and knowing she doesn't have to feel alone in the world. in turn, she'd share her stories of being at sea to them and all of her adventures as she dreamt as a young pup.

during dark times at sea, felix would pray to ceres just as anyone would to their own god/dess. the only difference is that felix does not pray for her life, but instead ceres is a light that reminds felix that it's going to be okay. no matter what happens. they give her strength to be true to herself and even face death if needed.

Personality - felix is a fearless spirit. she hates being bound or restricted by rules and laws, and doesn't hesitate to go against commands. she's doesn't allow anything to get in her way, even her own physical limits won't stop her from achieving her goals. life is never dull around her! at first glance she may seem innocent and meek as she's plays herself to be shy and timid to gage her opponent as friend or foe. any of her friends know her to be upbeat and lively, carrying a very positive outlook on life. any of her foes know her to be harsh and cruel, untrustworthy as she often deceives them into a trap. she holds no regrets and never looks back on the past.

Clyde's favorite musical artist is Bon Iver. The gentle, melancholy sounds of his music speak to Clyde's soul. He would describe himself as an old, grumpy man, but in his heart he is gentle and soft. He likes a slow tune to listen to while he relaxes and watches Bonnie jump around, musing on how much energy kids have these days.

The rustic sound of the guitar strumming in Bon Iver's song also speak to Clyde's country dog self. He grew up in the countryside, as a farm dog, and the farmhand used to play his guitar for him. The strums bring back memories of laying in the warm soil after a long day of running about the farm.

Despite his colder, stoic exterior, Clyde has nothing but warmth in his heart. The line "your love will be safe with me" from his favorite Bon Iver song, Re: Stacks, speaks to him as he keeps all love he's ever had, deep in his heart. Nothing can move it.

Clyde spends his days "begrudgingly" following Bonnie around, acting as the straight-man to her antics, yet silently always making sure she stays safe.

Clyde consider's himself a father figure to Bonnie, but he doesn't let her know it. She's very important to him, and he's very important to her. He found her as a pup in a box on the side of the side, while he was out on a walk. She was smitten by Clyde immediately. At first, he acted like she was an annoying little fluffball that took all his favorite scraps from the bin, and nothing more. But he knew in his heart that she was special, and that he cared about her from the get-go.

Ceres is an old friend of Clyde's. He has a lot of respect for them, and usually speaks to them in a more respectful manner than he does other dogs. Whenever he runs into them while on a walk, he makes an effort to stop for a good long chat to catch up on the news of the town.

"I wanna be with you!" She always sings to Clyde, promising him that she'll be by his side forever. He usually groans and rolls his eyes, but a smile spreads across his face as soon as Bonnie looks away.
