Rapidstrike, now very alert for any signs of cats or prey was on the prowl. He kept his ears up for any signs for a rustling bush or a crunched twig. He stopped for a breif moment. He tilted his head towards the ground, hearing some rustling dirt beneath the surface. He followed the sounds and found a hole in the ground, and then another hole in the ground a few tail lengths away. He signaled for one of the cats to come, and Silentstalk stepped up to the plate. Silentstalk caught on the plan, and positioned themselves at the second hole, ready to pounce. Rapidstrike wailed into the ground, causing the creature below to run towards the other hole, where Silentstalk killed it. It was a hedgehog! Luckily no cat got pricked. +1 Hedgehog

Sunstar and Crowmask successfully evaded the fox after some careful maneuvering. They both sat for a moment, collecting themselves. Then, they both agreed to try and get some more prey before going to camp. They scoured the are for any prey, but clouds were beginning to cover the skies. It might rain soon, you could smell it in the air. Crowmask spotted movement under some ferns, and went to investigate. It was a small furry creature, a mouse by the smell. He crept towards it carefully, and as the mouse stepped out to collect an acorn, he made the kill. +1 Mouse

Lightclan
After bringing the joint border and hunting patrol home, Lightstar and Rapidstrike left the camp to check the western border as they'd promised. It was sun high now, so they'd had time to eat, rest, and repair a hole in the 'claw den. Lightstar had elected to patrol that specific border because it was the only link to the mainland. Lightclan's territory was situated on an island a small stretch from the shore. There was a single, twoleg built bridge that paved the way to the mountains and twolegplace beyond. Now, Lightclan's territory didn't stretch as far as the bridge, but the border was close. Thus, it was the primary place to search if there was indeed something suspicious going on. She padded away from the camp with her deputy alongside her and instantly wished they had more clanmates. She didn't like leaving their two swiftclaws alone with Shortspark, who was getting sick. If they had at least another two or three cats, Lightstar might feel a bit safer when leaving the camp. However, it was necessary to do so; otherwise, they'd never get anything done. Sighing, the leader examined the trees around them for shadowy figures or even prey. She wouldn't be opposed to catching a little something for Shortspark. The elderly she-cat could use all the energy she could get. Rapidstrike walked beside Lightstar, close enough that their shoulder fur brushed. The feeling of companionship was soothing to both felines, "I doubt there is anything to be worried about, but I'm glad you decided to do this." Lightstar's pale blue eyes widened. She glanced over at Rapidstrike, curious. "Is that so?" The tom backpedaled, seeming to think he'd said something wrong. "Ah, well. It's always good to be thorough. And we get to spend time together." Rapidstrike sniffed the air absentmindedly before adding, "There are things we need to discuss that I would prefer to be private." The white and ginger she-cat paused to peer between the trees, thinking carefully on her next sentence, "Such as? You know my thoughts on suspense, don't make me crazy with curiosity." Rapidstrike chuckled as they returned to walking side-by-side. "So impatient. Anyhow, I was referring to the situation with Shortspark. She's gotten worse since last night." Lightstar huffed under her breath. They'd already talked about this today. Why was Rapidstrike bringing it up again? There was nothing to be done about Shortspark. Unless he wanted to start using random plants to try to make her better, what could he possibly have to say? "I think we should visit the twolegplace again." Lightstar stopped, claws digging into the ground to steady herself. "Back to the twolegplace? Are you mad!? The last time we went there, we hardly got out with our pelts intact and you want to go back already?" Lightstar was more incredulous than angry, but she couldn't help the anxious lashing of her tail. Rapidstrike was standing a few tail lengths ahead, eyes narrowed uncertainly. "...Yes. There could be a cat...or at least herbs that could help Shortspark. I think we should at least try!" Lightstar admitted that it was a decent enough idea, but she couldn't risk anyone getting hurt by those brutes at the twolegplace. Not just that, but there were those leviathans that the twolegs rode in the bellies of. Lightstar had seen the aftermath of a run-in with those and she didn't want anyone near that kind of danger. "Rapidstrike. I understand. I want Shortspark to get better just as much as anycat, but I can't risk any of us getting hurt in the twolegplace. We hardly have enough cats to hunt as it is." The white and grey tabby tom growled under his breath, ears pinned back. "You won't even try?" Lightstar sighed, tired of arguing. "I would. Believe me, if I could, I would...let's just finish this patrol and I'll see what we can do, okay?" Rapidstrike glanced away and shrugged. He looked at least placated...for now. They continued on their way, a suffocating silence now between them. There was a tension, thick enough to cut away with a claw, that pressed down on Lightstar. She felt bad, but these were the hard decisions Hawthorn said she needed to be prepared to make. They reached the border finally, and Lightstar split up from Rapidstrike. There was a wordless agreement to leave each other alone for now. It was better this way, so neither of them would say something they might regret.

"shadowflurry, is that skunk?" sequoiapaw mewed, sniffing the air. it seemed she had a good nose. the other apprentcies looked to her than to shadowflurry, wondering if their fellow was right.
sadly, she was. shadowflurry had been trying to keep the skunk smell from them, but it was too late now. "yes, sequoiapaw. it is." laurelgaze glanced a him, a look in her eyes asking if they should pursue it. "we will leave it be for now." the deputy paused, then said to laurelgaze, "may we talk?" she nodded.
"limepaw, you're in charge for now, since you are the elder apprentice. please make sure that these two," laurelgaze paused, gesturing to the other two apprentices, "stay out of trouble. stay right here, we'll be right back." the apprentices looked at each other and nodded.
laurelgaze and shadowflurry went away to talk. "we can't take the apprentices to the skunk." laurelgaze mewed, "that'd be putting them in too much danger." shadowflurry nodded, agreeing.
"we'll tell foxstar when we get back, then maybe take out a patrol with morningrise." shadowflurry replied. laurelgaze nodded to that. "so we'll leave it be for now."
the apprentices, being apprentices, had listened in on their mentors. all three of the young she-cats were now angry at the warriors. they'd be fine while battling a skunk! it'd be a great experience! but they said nothing, being slightly fine with leaving the area to head towards the twoleg village.

Sagefluff energetically bounded to the Warriors' den only to be met by Kestrelspeck's equal excitement. The two she-cats swiftly padded over to the Hunters' den to wake Smokestorm. It was his idea, after all, to bring in a new set of paws, eyes, and ears. Sagefluff had instantly said yes to the request to join him and Kestrelspeck on a hunting patrol. She was a mere Gatherer, so not much excitement happened around her. The grey tom stretched and shook off the drowsiness.
"Alright you crazy kittens, let's go." He pushed past the she-cats and broke into a light jog to get out of camp. They followed and went on their way. Sagefluff was constantly being told off by Kestrelspeck for stepping on twigs and dead leaves.
"You'll scare off the prey! They can hear you from miles off!" But of course, she didn't know any better. Plus, she was sure Kestrelspeck had done the same thing her first time out with Smokestorm. Brushing off the sharp remarks, Sagefluff made note to not step on anything noisy as she watched Smokestorm drop down, lift his head up, and drink in the foresty scents. Kestrelspeck flicked her tail in front of Sagefluff and whispered that they needed to stay back and let him do his thing. So the she-cats retraced their steps and stopped by a stump adorned with dirty brown mushrooms. They talked about how serious Smokestorm was and what prey he might find. Sagefluff silently made note of the pausing from Kestrelspeck. The defensive remarks when she tried to soil his reputation. She tried to think nothing of it. That it was just a clanmate being nice. But something more was there. Sagefluff changed the subject and motioned to the mushrooms around the stump.
"Could we eat those?" She asked, gazing at the other she-cat.
"Probably not worth the risk," Kestrelspeck dismissed. Sagefluff grunted, then her mind wandered to Smokestorm. She wondered what he's accomplished in the time Kestrelspeck and her had talked.
"Perhaps we should check on Smokestorm," she suggested. Kestrelspeck nodded and led her to the last place they had seen him.
"Don't step on anything," the she-cat warned Sagefluff. She gave a mocking face to the Warrior but took special notice not to make extra noise. What will the mysterious forest hold for these LagoonClan cats?

Shaman | Objective: Finding Herbs
Moira packed away the dried oak leaves Saoirse and Keanu had found and took a deep breath, assessing the herbs the tribe had stored. It was leaf-fall, and she was less than satisfied with the contents of the Shaman’s den. Leafbare was around the corner and they could not afford for any cats to fall seriously ill, much less die.
If she thought about it, she had to admit that her worry was partly caused by her kits, who, she was painfully aware, were especially sensitive to illnesses of all sorts and would be especially dependent on the healing powers of herbs.
Shaking her head to clear her troubled thoughts she stepped out of the den into the cold sunlight and puffed out her fur. She did not like low temperatures.
She knew what she had to to, though, and made her way over to the camp exit to head outside into the forest. Those herbs would not collect themselves, and she did not trust any of the other warriors to know how to handle the more poisonous cures. At least the sky was clear and rain unlikely.

“We’re low on food again,” Mamoru observed from the stone ledge he lay on with Azeroth. “I’ll head out and see if I can catch anything. We need to be prepared for leafbare.”
His leader nodded. “Will you be taking anyone with you?”
“No, I’ll be able to catch more without someone bumbling around me and scaring away all the prey,” Mamoru answered, only half joking.
Azeroth blinked at him calmly. “Well, we will see about that. Good luck with your hunt.”
Mamoru suppressed a scoff. ‘Luck,’ he thought to himself. ‘It’s skill.’
Yet, the Elite thanked his leader and left him behind as he exited the camp.
Outside, Mamoru looked around. To his left, he could see Moira’s tailtip vanishing between the trees, so he chose to head right instead. The she-cat was good as a healer, but an atrocious huntress. She would scare away all the prey in her path.
When he felt that he had walked far enough, he stood still and opened his mouth to catch the scents of prey. After his big words to Azeroth, he needed to prove now that he had not only been boasting and that the decision to make him an Elite had been a wise one.

The smell of the fox was gone, and it was a huge relief. The two of them stood upwards, and began to peak around. It would be easier to hunt if there were no predators causing them issues, but it helped both of them to know that there was one attempting to hunt in their territory. The idea of getting caught by the beast made Crow shivver, so Sun turned to him to calm the black cat down.

Sunstar's eyes softened, and he purred, "Stay calm my friend." His tone was milky smooth. It sent chills down Crow's spine, but worked as intended as the cat had stopped shivvering in fear. "Though because of the threat, we should return to camp, warn the others soon."

"Not right away I hope?" Crow spoke out, shocked that they went through all that just to return. "We just got out here."

Sun smiled, cocked his head and watched the expression change on the deputy slowly. The two of them stood in silence for a moment before the leader spoke up. "Of coarse not. We still have some hunting to do. Why don't we split up again, and after this session, we should bring what we found back. We already have obtained a decent amount." Sun already began to prod off without a response from his deputy. He didn't need one, and they wasted enough time chatting.

So the two of them hunted, till sundown, catching what they could, gathering it up in portions, and heading back to the clan. The two of them at the edge of the clan's camp were immediately greeted by the clan's lead warrior. His size overpowering the two almost instantly. The white cat peered down at both of them, and glanced at the food. "You two look hungry." He smirked and walked into camp, being followed by the leader and deputy.

The fresh kill was piled on top of the pile. Much of it on the smaller end, but a few lucky sized morsels were available. As soon as all the hunters had finished setting the food up, and before anyone could get there share, Sunstar leaped upon a low bearing cherry tree that hovered above the clan den.

He called out softly, but it was loud enough for everyone to hear. "Let us gather before we eat." It was a typical thing of there clan, a way to give thanks, and praise a fulfilling feast. "We were blessed this day by the prey, and we ask that you respect every bite you take." Sun paused for a moment. "There was a fox close to the territory, so Queens please be extra careful of your kits." He nodded to the queens, and hopped of the tree branch as gracefully as he could muster. "Let us eat."

The prey was dispersed, and rather quickly did the clan consume there share. Sunstar grabbed some scraps from the pile, and shared with CrowMask, the food was something dropped by the twolegs. They were lucky it was some sort of morsel of meat, but were unsure from what beast it could possibly come from. It smelled decent though.

after a good nights rest Sun woke up early rousing in his hey filled den. The sun hadn't even rissen over the horizen, and the birds were barely chirping in the distance. The gold feline stretched in the darkness, and lumbered out of the den.

Crow was sitting just outside his sleeping quarters. "Ready." He seemed eager to get back to hunting. "We have to prepare for leaf-bare." Sun nodded, stepped onwards, then slowed his pace. Following the short haired deputy to the border, then stopping once more. He turned his head back to camp. "Sir?" Crow spoke softly, as to not wake up the other cats.

"let's bring Tag, and Ripple." Sun commanded, and turned back to camp to wake the warriors before heading out to hunt again.
