favorite place: I love when I’m able to go visit my sister. I live in Florida and she lives in Alabama so not too big of a climate change lol, but just enough of a difference to be colder. So when I’m up at her house we can stay bundled up in comfy sweaters and coats. My sister is a fantastic cook and when it’s chilly she makes all sorts of yummy comfort foods and snacks. It’s just a really wholesome feeling to get to pile up on the couch with your loved ones with a big cup of homemade hot chocolate and sit and watch your favorite movies.

favorite place: this time last year, me and my partner were visiting his family in arizona for the month. i hate the cold and ice, but the desert was the perfect temperature and we were able to walk around my partner's hometown quite a bit :)

we took a trip to northern arizona for a couple days and visited the grand canyon, which was covered in snow. there were a lot of tourists still around despite the cold, and a lot of them had made snowmen and snowcreatures along the rim of the canyon! me and my partner made our own snowperson a little further back and i'd never enjoyed playing in the snow as much as in this weird, vast, alien place. <3

favorite place: my favorite place is the fireplace, i produce a lot of heat but dont keep a lot of heat so sitting in front of a fireplace warms me. im also trying to get my cat to sit with me.

favorite place: My favorite place to be during winter is my mom's. Until recently, I rarely got to see her so being around her is that much more special. She also lives in an area where it really snows which I quite a contrast to the practical desert I grew up in. Sitting on the couch, bundled in blankets, playing a game with my family while warming up from playing in the snow, that's the perfect place for me.

favorite place: It's really rare that I get a chance to travel; my family only ever did it for holidays. I've always had fond memories of the trips we took up to Kentucky to visit my stepdad's family. We started going when I was still little, and we would alternate between that and visiting my real dad's parents on the holidays. It was always a hassle getting there, loading up the car and making a five hour drive with five kids and a dog, but it was always so great to see my stepdad's family. They had a family reunion every year with a potluck, so there was plenty of food and I got to see kids my age too (cousins, second cousins, I never really knew). Christmas day up there was always the best, because we'd get up and find all our gifts labelled and sitting neatly around the living room (I slept on the couch when we visited, so that meant I slept on the floor in someone else's room). After we saw our gifts and maybe opened a few, we'd cook a nice big breakfast before the rest of the family came over.

I still love going there for Christmas, but it hasn't really been the same since Papaw died, and every year the family reunion gets smaller and smaller as more people start having families of their own.

favorite place: Having grown up in the mountains, I love to be there in the winter. Snowshoeing, snowboarding, even camping if I'm feeling wild. There's just always so much to do, and even better learning opportunities.

favorite place: My favorite place to be is the wildlife refuge i volunteer at! They specialize in big cats but also have things like lemurs and donkeys. It's fun to watch the tigers chase the leaves around or hear them crunch through the frost early in the morning. I have a lot of anxiety and one of the few places i feel calm and at peace is out there with the cats :^)

my favorite place to travel during colder months is the black hills! It's gorgeous up there year round but there's something just about the black hills in the snow that makes it special if you can brave the cold!

favorite place: I love to be wherever there are lights, specifically christmas lights! last year my family and I drove around a neighborhood to look at all the pretty decorations and amazing light shows. there's just something about all the colors and glowing amidst the darkness (and sometimes snow!!) that makes me feel so happy. have you seen those houses that go in sync with radio stations they'd custom made? they are! awesome!!! just imagine how long it took to program all the lights, too! the dedication is so heartwarming, since they share it with other people. <3

I love to be right at home, I don't really travel in general but especially during the colder holiday months I stay home. This year especially, a lot of my family is right here, even some family that used to live in Puerto Rico live just a block or two away from me now. A lot of the time everyone I know is busy with work, but the holiday season lightens that a bit at least for some of us. If anything, I'm excited for the times when my parents, my brother, and I will all get in the car and drive around the neighborhoods of my city to see the nature around us affected by the season. The darkness of night disrupted by bright colored lights from houses in the rural areas, festive music on the radio, and a chill air that isn't too cold going through the car, a waste of gas maybe, but a fun time for sure.
