Prompt:
Dear, sweet Alicia was born lacking the gift of sight. No one is sure why it happened, exactly, but there are speculations. Some say it was poor nutrition while she was growing inside her mother, due to scarce food that year. Maybe it was an injury from that time her dam lost her footing and nearly tumbled down the steep incline. Perhaps it was just foul luck to be born on a moonless night., or a rotten draw of genetics. Alicia has never known a world she could see, however, so she doesn't consider herself at a loss. She is most often a pleasant, positive, upbeat persona, refusing to let her troubles keep her down. Alicia can't see images, but she is still photosensitive to light, meaning she can tell when it is bright or dark out, and she can sense/see shadows moving across her vision when they intercept the light.Though she may take longer to pick her way across a field, she is a determined little filly, taking her time and concentrating on everything she CAN sense around her. The tickle of the long grass against her legs and belly, the soft breeze that caresses her skin and dances thru her mane and tail, the warmth of the sunshine, the smell of rain on the horizons...things like this fill Alicia's world with it's own sense of magic and wonder. One of Alicia's favorite things is to "dance" with a friend. Despite her lack of sight, Alicia loves to prance, jump, spin, buck, and all out dance when she is feeling happy. Though she can't "see" her friends, she can "feel" there presence and sense their shadows, and believe it or not, she has never ran into a "dance partner" yet! Unfortunately for Alicia though, the herd is often on the move, and the new lead mare of her herd has decide that the herd no longer has time to wait for Alicia to keep up. Alicia valiantly tried to stay close on her family's heels, but quickly fell behind and became lost.
