Prompt: Kaulana used to be in a pride that was all about greed and profit. Lions wouldn't do things for one another if there wasn't a reward out of it, especially when they were negotiating with another pride. This particular lioness actually managed to get a lot of profit in her time with being in the old pride, and she became very famous. She was very good at collecting valuable items and earning items for a very low price. However, when Kaulana's pride met the Divine Pride and she realized how compassionate they were, she wanted to be just like them. She left her pride in favor of learning the new ways of the Divine Pride, and it's been hard for her. Kaulana still presses on in hopes that she'll get better and fully know how to be spiritual as well as good to others.

In her old pride, they had stones for how much 'love' they had within the pride.

These stones were worn around the neck, tied with a special strand of fur. This 'special strand' came from the lion's parents. One from the father's mane, and one from the mother. It was supposed to represent the lion, and the parents.

Later, you would get stones from family(mostly), friends, the pride, and sometimes even the royalty. The first stone would come from the lions birthplace. And the second would be from the lions parents.

As you can see, family meant everything in Kulia's old pride.

The most important stone would come from your mate. It was a sort of 'proposing' in her old pride. They had caves, with veins of opals. Opals, to her old pride, were considered to represent love. A lion would give an opal to their love.

Kulia truly believes in these ways, and will not give them up easily. She pines for her family, since she has none in this strange new pride. But she keeps on the 'tradition of the stones' to help keep her family's memory alive. Though the king of the new pride has ordered her to not wear them around, which has made her resentful towards him.

HarmonicNight was born in the Mbwa Pride along with her best friend GoldenShiningSun. Their lifestyle was very different from the Ndege Pride. The Mbwa believed that each lion was meant to serve the leader and had no other purpose in life. They believed that having cubs and mating was also only for the leader to make the Pride stronger, and that was the only reason they did it. They cared very little about other life and had many horrible practices. HarmonicNight hated these rules and this is what led the Ndege Pride to be created.

There were only a few things from the Mbwa that she decided to take with her as she traveled to create Ndege along with GoldenShiningSun. One, was the ritual of aging up. The Mbwa would have a large ritual when a youngling or novice became of age or graduated. To graduate, a novice must do a task of some sort and a youngling must meditate on whether they are ready to be a novice for a whole day before they are ready. This ensures cubs are serious about training and are mature enough. HarmoinNight likes this because she believes in being serious for training and being a part of a Pride. She hates lazy lions who barely do anything but have everything they could ever want.

In the Mbwa, the ceremony is a big deal and HarmonicNight likes that aspect of it. The graduates are dressed up, painted, and paraded like heroes. They stand in front of leader and preform the oath. Then there is huge celebration and all the garduates go out for a big hunt with the high ranks together. It makes them feel accomplished and proud of their pride. She loved watching and being a part of this ritual and decided to bring it to Ndege as well.
